I think it's the Hollow's reiatsu what makes them sick, and since quirge was just absorbing Reishi (spiritual matter), then it doesn't affect him. Or maybe the Volstanding ability purify the reishi before absorbing it and they didn't think that the process of purifying was needed for shinigamis, beside the fact that they would never be able to absorb Vizard/Ichigo's Bankai.

Are you trying to say that technically there's no way any captain can win because the quincies still have that wing transformation and absorsion ability?
Well, I'm sure Urahara is plenty aware of the abilites that guy in hueco mundo used, if he deviced a way to get bankais back, he prolly also deviced a way to stop the absorsion. He is to Bleach what Orochimaru is to Naruto, one box filled with all answers.

They can't absorb even the tiniest bit oh Hollow and it's been established long ago (the whole reason Quincies were exterminated) was because they were destryoing Hollows. They didn't purify them.
This chapter just went and retconned itself in the same arc. It also made the whole stolen bankai thing Kubo established earlier pointless considering how fast he just solved the problem.

Cang Du says that his use of Daiguren Hyorinmaru in this chapter was the first time Hitsugaya sees it on the receiving end. Didn't he use it against Hitsugaya before, and it started evaporating from Yamamoto's bankai?
Not sure what to think about the whole bankai thing getting resolved already. It seems very pointless so far, so either it was brought up to bring up the whole quincy-hollow thing, or there's more to it that we will see in future chapters.

I hope this leads to all captains and vice captains developing hollowfication otherwise the plot of stealing bakais would become pointless. I see only 2 ways to take with this, one pretty disappointing and another one pretty awesome, I hope Kubo is smarth enough to choose the right one.
Also, since Urahara already is in soul society I hope he brought along the guys that were with him in hueco mundo, specially Grimmjow or whoever it was he made a deal with.

Normally when manga's do filler though, they try not cross canon stuff. When there was an entire saga (one of the better ones coincidently) about bankai's maifesting into humanoid forms, it shows I don't think he planned that far ahead after aizen.

I meant can he come back and finish killing hitsugaya so we can move on to seeing someone actually worth fighting, rather than a guy who just gets curbstomped every single time and then pulls something out of ass in the last moment.

In defense of Hitsugaya, he would have beat Hallibel by himself if Wonderwaise or w.e hadn't broken his ice flower tomb technique. It's not that he is uncappable, its just that Kubo doesn't like him lolz. I don't think Buzz Bee will just come out and beat him though, they'll prolly knock each other out and thats all we will see of him for a long time.
I wish they had got mask ala Vizard, but I guess Arracar masks is enough.

I wonder if Cang Du got out of the ice grave, if he did that definitely proves Kubo doesn't like Hitsugaya himself.
They definitely needed to show more of those hollowed bankais before going into showing the Quincies volstandieg. Now it feels like the hollw bankais are nothing but meaningless filler. Hope I'm wrong.
