Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - iVege - 2013-09-04

(thanks Eos)

The long wait is finally over! After 5+ weeks, we finally get to see Ichigo again! Well, his back, at least.

Rangiku looked faaabuuulous this chapter (it's like she gets more attractive with every appearance)... but was still no match AT ALL for Kurotsuchi Mayuri's makeover!!! But seriously, wtp was that.

WHY IS HITSUGAYA WEARING A HEADBAND THING??? It's like he gets less attractive with every appearance.

Nothing much happened this chapter, but that was to be expected. Looking forward to what's to come next, but not especially excited.

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - street - 2013-09-04

Happy bleach is back! Going to make a shirt out of the color page
 Spoiler

Going to finally see all the major captains fight and see if all that training paid off!

Wasnt expecting the re start chapter to be a super big bang. Still pretty good chapter imo

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - byakugan - 2013-09-04

I couldn't get the explaniation about what happened other than the Vandereich was hidden in a dimensional bubble of reijatsu on top of soul society, which sounds kind of dumb to be honest.

iVege Wrote:WHY IS HITSUGAYA WEARING A HEADBAND THING??? It's like he gets less attractive with every appearance.

He might not look better but he doesn't look worse either. He somehow looks older, maybe he made use of that other dimension in which Ichigo trained before facing Aizen. In any case, without Bankai I expect he will be resorting to all the kidou he can use to win.

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - Takebacker - 2013-09-04

I think hitsugaya looks badass. Always.

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - iVege - 2013-09-10

Did Kubo just retcon Hitsugaya's shikai into being super weak? It can't create large quantities of ice? I must be misreading something here.

Oh, and I don't mind the headband anymore. It's not very Hitsugaya-like, and reminds me of some other characters, but it doesn't look bad.

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - CrazyForDex - 2013-09-10

I'm not exactly sure what just happened, but it seems that Hitsugaya just messed that guy up. Unfortunately I doubt it will last

Compared to the amount of ice his bankai can create, I would say it is an extremely small amount. From a giant football field sized ice flower/skyscraper sized ice column to an ice wall is a large difference in ice.

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - Hypermug - 2013-09-11

I'm sorry but I have no faith at all in Omaeda and I'm pretty sure Soi Fon will just come save him anyway.

Glad to see Hitsugaya being cool again.

CommanderJinn Wrote:Compared to the amount of ice his bankai can create, I would say it is an extremely small amount. From a giant football field sized ice flower/skyscraper sized ice column to an ice wall is a large difference in ice.

I kept referencing him freezing the whole room when he fought Aizen, but I remember now that he was actually using bankai. He's really only showcased his shikai against Gin, hasn't he? I was speaking more about the poor amount of ice he was shown to produce (the thin ice), rather than his claim that his shikai produced extremely small quantities of ice, but I later realised that this was probably part of his new technique. He just had to make that "extremely small amount" claim after his squad members and Buzz-B talk about how little ice he was making.

It wasn't just his claim of "extremely small amount" that threw me off, but how weak he seemed with his thin ice. It didn't help that his squad members were all concerned for him and Buzz-B was commenting on how thin it was. I actually thought all his abilities somehow got weaker when his bankai was stolen. Remember when he started getting back to the basics and trained his sword techniques? I now realise that he did it to make up for his loss of power by strengthening other areas, but it just added more to the confusion at the time. Then Hitsugaya tells Rangiku that he couldn't control "it" well. Considering his ice was so thin... I was thinking he was referring to his shikai.

While it hasn't been confirmed, this is my justification: that he was referring to the multi-layer vacuum ice. He can actually use it by himself, but he needs to thin the ice down to do it properly. Plus, he needs even more help from Rangiku's Haineko to make sure it works (it got broken with ease when Rangiku wasn't helping—but it still protected his squad members. They said that it was a miracle that he managed to do it, but it seems to me that he was actually using an imperfect upon imperfect version of the multi-layer vacuum ice already, which explains why his ice was so thin). I'm going to assume that he'll be able to use the multi-layer vacuum ice passively once he masters it, and permanently strengthen his ice without anyone's help and without the need to thin it down.

And I'm sure that he lost it a while ago (maybe Xcution or FKT arc), but why did his chain with the crescent moon disappear?

The chain, if I remember my Bleach trivia correctly, extends from the hilt at will, and is not present when he doesn't need it. Like the fight with Gin, I believe that it was only really shown when he used it to get Gin's arm and freeze it. Pretty convenient not having to lug a crescent moon blade around when you don't want it!

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - byakugan - 2013-09-11

Maybe I am stupid, but I didn't get that ash layered, ice layered hall he is talking about. He should have trapped the guy in an ice bubble and made it void of air using Haineko, so the guy couldn't turn on any flames. Then it would make total sense.

I hope the other fights have more belieable mechanic plots.

What he does is that haineko turns to ash and then he makes an ice wall, part of haineko coats the icewall, then he makes another ice wall over haineko. Haineko then covers the next wall. This continues until he's sufficiently happy with the thickness. Haineko then returns back to sword form, leaving vacuum space between the thin walls and therefore emulating hardness. Hitsugaya theoretically can do that all himself, but he doesn't have enough control over the ice without Bankai (makes sense considering that his Bankai technically isn't complete yet, which means he can still probably master his shikai). The multilayer thin ice has the bonus effect against fire as once the fire melts through the outer layer, it reaches a wall of vacuum, which would then put out the fire due to lack of air.

Soi Fong using Shunko makes a miles more sense than Hitsugaya's strategy. Too bad she couldn't 1HKO her opponent with it.

And Omaeda couldn't get any more pathetic.

I think Kubo's setting up something for him, with the previous chapter's opening and his family members getting involved. I hope he acts like Rangiku and helps his captain. He's already failed massively against Baraggan last time.

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - MetaSeraphim - 2013-09-18

Speaking of, I do wonder if, or rather when Yoruichi will join in this battle.

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - Hypermug - 2013-09-27

Well that was short lived.

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - Hypermug - 2013-10-02

Although I really like Hitsugaya, I do think it's time for some captains to die off. Sadly Kubo has already set the plot up so that they'll recover their bankais and win it seems :/

Or maybe Soi Fon and Hitsugaya won't be able to get back their bankai in time.

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - byakugan - 2013-10-03

Urahara: Hello there, I've deviced a method to get your bankais back

SoiFong and Hitsugaya: Fucking great, you bring that up now that we are almost dead.

Well, that's actually cool. I wanna see more of Soifongs mega cannon bankai and well, Hitsugaya ALWAYS has a new card up his sleeve with his Bankai.

Bleach Manga thread (SPOILERS) - MetaSeraphim - 2013-10-03

Bleach is more boring than normal lately. Needs something to spice it up.
