This is why you play with friends. ;o

Pyro has better burst damage, but Ice has longer range/freeze — one is better for DPS and one for mob control.

However, people like to party Majesty? for Time Acceleration. ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌

IMO all eles should go down both trees until Hot Rod and Chilling Mist anyway, so just pick between Fireball/Rolling Lava/Burning Hand and Icy Shards/Ice Spear/Ice Shield. I don't think people who party eles expect much crowd control anyway, just damage and both classes do that well enough.

There is one in Gerrant called "Pineapples". There are around 60 members, but only 3-4 are active.

More like all eles should go down both trees because of their insane cooldown times.

All my friends that have gone ele are going to be Ice Witches, so no idea what it's like to party with a Pyromancer-to-be. People say they prefer Pyromancers at higher levels though. ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌

Someone sent me this link
http://dragonnestmods.com/forum/showthread.php?t=430

to change out the english voices with japanese ones =D
very very happy. I'm gonna test it out right now

Everyone just claims that "Ice has more control" and "fire does more damage". But is the difference that noticeable? I don't really want to go down one route and then find out "oh hey, the other route does way more damage AND can control mobs better."

Sorta like how snipers were better than rangers at literally everything. More damage and similar speed with better mob controls. Invalidating the claimed "differences" of speed vs damage.

something that has to be said though, remember modding is not endorsed by nexon, and they (say they) can punish you for doing so. doubt they will/can, but well, you know. don't say you weren't warned.

They're both fine in team PvP/PvE. Ice Witch is better at 1v1 PvP.

Pyromancer has a longer cast time, but has higher raw damage + burst damage. Ice Witches don't take as long to cast and they freeze mobs. Just pick whichever you like.

Fire Ele is definitely far stronger than Ice can ever be, given equal equipment and whatnot. Fire is basically one of the most powerful paths in the entire game.

The way you get more control as a Fire Ele is to go hybrid and get Ice skills. Hybrid is basically the only way to go for every class if I'm not mistaken, or else you miss out on a ton of useful crap.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - Holypie - 2011-10-10

And you'll have long gaps of waiting for cooldowns.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-10-10

Question - I have my strafe buttons moved to Q and E rather than A and D. Will that still make ice break by using Q and E when frozen?

Pretty much. I might be going Crusader on my Paladin, but I'd be silly to forgo Guardian skills like Iron Will.

Got lucky today and found a gold rabbit on my daily abyss tear of soul. The superb plate I got was for Ignite. About how useful is it for Elementalists, anyways?

Original Dragon Nest Thread - EarthAdept2 - 2011-10-10

Does anyone have a video of a good elestra? The selena one linked before showcased a really good mix of chaining attacks together with both elements. :x.

It's very noticeable. I'm going down ice, and most of my attacks either slow down or freeze enemies. I don't know if I'm just super lucky, but just with Glacial Strike I have like a 80% freeze rate. Fire skills are very strong, but I prefer having immobile enemies, so...
And at the person who asked about Ignite, it's the strongest Ele skill with the current 32 level cap. It has a ridiculous 45 second cooldown with equally insane damage, and even sets enemies on fire.

I'm pretty sure Ignite puts fire on enemies out, not set them on fire. But fire attacks are ridiculously strong, the only skills I've been able to hit 5 digits on so far are Fireball and Shatter, and my Fireball is only level 1 with no crest while I have around 11% Ice Attack and 0% Fire. Of course, you need to charge it but it's not hard finding spots to do so I think.

Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-10-10

noob question, do you get 10 SP per level?

Original Dragon Nest Thread - raizoo - 2011-10-10

Yeah, seems to be 10 a level.

I don't see very many non-PvP Elestra vids, lol.
