Original Dragon Nest Thread - QSCX - 2011-10-09 DrRusty Wrote:How the hell does anyone do Abyss difficulty? I just finished doing a master level dungeon and it was hard as hell. I did end up getting a double S which I have no idea how. The difficulty going from Hard -> master is huge. I don't see how someone can do Abyss without seriously outleveling the dungeon. The difference between Abyss and Master is even bigger. Most Abyss dungeons have two bosses and mini bosses along the way. Abyss dungeons are easier to solo once you get past level 15 and specialize your job. Also, play in parties! Original Dragon Nest Thread - raizoo - 2011-10-09 amigawd, got enough frags for a 32+ pouch. Just need to get to 32 now. ;-; DrRusty Wrote:How the hell does anyone do Abyss difficulty? I'm leveling up a warrior instead and I'm at lvl 8 now. The combat is ridiculously funQue Bwhahaha, that was my reaction at first too. Looking back, I sucked horribly. Speaking as someone who has played through the first jobs of every class (and archers twice, since I deleted my very first archer character due to being initially disappointed with 2nd job Acrobat, in which I may have been far too hasty then), I cannot imagine why the game thinks that archers are a good beginner class. The two female characters' first jobs suck horribly, especially if you're a beginner. At the very least, I wouldn't use a shortbow during the Archer's 1st job phase at all (not to mention that the archer 2nd job advancement test is almost impossible with a shortbow). Once you get better at the game, you'll find yourself doing a lot of things that you may have thought to be impossible before. Come back to your archer later (and get a crossbow or something until you job advance, it's pretty much a shortbow with a slower firing rate/longer range), you'd be surprised at what you can do with your archer then. Tackling Abyss dungeons solo pretty much requires your higher level skills first. I really wouldn't recommend soloing the Abyss dungeons around Carderock Pass until you have your Level 17-20 skills or even higher. After that though, it's possible to solo Abyss dungeons as you run into them, although no sane person would do that due to the Abyss mode drops sucking terribly compared to the Master mode drops (unless you get insanely lucky with boss drops/dimensional rabbits). Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-10-09 When I become a mercenary, do I still use my 1st job skills at all? Should I be saving all my SP for 2nd job? If anyone has any tips for me plz let me know lol. Diving into a new game is pretty overwhelming that's why I have all these questions. @above - I didn't think archer was too bad when I had my long bow, but I ended up finding a much better short bow, vendored my long bow, and was like ............. yeah I want my long bow back. The damage did seem higher than warrior though, even though warrior has a lot of cleave. I didn't try xbow at all. I tried to solo the "kill 300 orcs" as a shortbow user at lvl 10 and ended up dying at around 200ish. I went back again on my warrior at lvl 11 and it was 10x easier. Original Dragon Nest Thread - Holypie - 2011-10-09 I don't know about warriors, but a lot of first job skills are staples that are still immensely useful past job advance. Also abyss dungeons in Saint's Haven are much better drop wise than Carderock Pass, because the coveted average onyx only drops in abyss (which is stupid). Original Dragon Nest Thread - Alilatias - 2011-10-09 DrRusty Wrote:When I become a mercenary, do I still use my 1st job skills at all? Should I be saving all my SP for 2nd job? Mercenaries are probably one of the hardest classes to come up with a build for. The vast majority of the skills that a Mercenary wants from 1st job are passives, and maybe two or three attacking skills, which aren't usually raised past level 6 as far as I'm aware. In 2nd job, they get a few SP in nearly every skill. As someone who has a Mercenary, you'll have to be aware of your cooldowns. The attack animations of some skills are a bit slow as well, but they make up for it in being able to smash enemy superarmor/interrupt enemy attacks quite efficiently, along with some pretty good mobbing. There is even a chargeup skill that grants you superarmor along with reducing the amount of damage you take by like 80%(?) while charging up. Mercenaries also have some valuable enemy damage reduction/party attack up and superarmor support skills, in comparison to the Swordmaster which is pretty much all DPS. (The 3rd job of every class has an advanced version of one of the 2nd job skills. I think the Mercenary 3rd job classes are the only classes that do not go for these advanced skills. It's not that their 2nd job sucks, but it's that their 2nd job skills are so awesome that people have a hard time specializing in just the axe/Barbarian or hammer/Destroyer path, so people try to get all the useful skills from both branches.) This site has a few builds that can probably help you out, although the Mercenary builds are a bit lacking in terms of information. http://forum.mmosite.com/thread/2/217/20110428/4e41ebd1bce96e813-1.html Original Dragon Nest Thread - ShinkuDragon - 2011-10-09 DrRusty Wrote:So, I got the archer to level 10 and decided short range bow user was stupid. You should get rid of the fragments but keep most of the crude and average versions for your class (Ruby=warrior, Sapphire=archer, Topaz=cleric, Obsidian=Sorceress) as that's what epic equipment need to be enhanced, and some for the other types as epic crests tend to usually need all of them to be made. indeed, i recommend dumping all your onyx fragments into low level gear, i managed to make a +12 normal pants, the bonus is so great i still use them at level 29 Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-10-09 Yah I just started enhancing every piece of gear I get until it breaks (unless I get 9+). Might as well since enhancing is so cheap Is PWR just like "rested experience"? Original Dragon Nest Thread - raizoo - 2011-10-09 DrRusty Wrote:Yah I just started enhancing every piece of gear I get until it breaks (unless I get 9+). Might as well since enhancing is so cheapEnhancing gets more expensive the higher the rarity of the item. The higher the rarity of an item, the more hidden potential you can get without getting a % penalty. Green = 2 without penalty Blue = 3 without penalty Orange = 4 without penalty Looks like Purple [lulz Sea Dragon gear] would be 5 without penalty.... PWR means you get more exp when you do the dungeon and/or turn in quests/commissions. So if you do some quests/commissions and decide you don't want to play anymore, save them for when PWR resets at 12pm EST. You also get EXP doing that Goblynn thing in Daredevil Faire and it doesn't use up PWR. Neither does Minotaur Nest, but the latter is a bit more work. Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-10-09 I just hit 15 and got merc, went ahead and used my scroll reset. I have 50 leftover points and I guess I'll save them for now? Not sure... I can't find any NA builds. All of the builds are from lvl 40 versions of the game. I'll just wing it I guess Original Dragon Nest Thread - ShinkuDragon - 2011-10-09 DrRusty Wrote:I just hit 15 and got merc, went ahead and used my scroll reset. I'll just wing it I guess yes, save em. most new skills take like 10 sp to be learned, and then you have to level them some to get more skills. Original Dragon Nest Thread - Alilatias - 2011-10-09 Just follow the level 40 builds. Spending all of it now doesn't make much of a difference when you have to keep leveling up in order to put more SP into your current skills anyways. It's unlikely that Nexon is going to give us a free reset between now and 3rd specialization. Original Dragon Nest Thread - EarthAdept2 - 2011-10-10 Is it even worth it to upgrade from a 24 life crest to a 32 life crest? It's only 378 extra hp. In which I can probably sell this crest for a good chunk of money instead =|. I also have to decide now if I should go ice or fire route now. What should I do guys?! Maybe aim for a Health crest as well? I don't know what class you are. xd 70% till 32.... Original Dragon Nest Thread - DrRusty - 2011-10-10 tryna get to lvl 18 before bed. I enhanced a sweet +9 2H mace =D Original Dragon Nest Thread - EarthAdept2 - 2011-10-10 Elementalist. I was also wondering that wouldn't glacial freeze -> fireball -> ignite be a really damaging combo? >_<. Makes me want to go fire but I honestly have no idea what I should do. I'm just going to give the 32 crest to my archer since it doesn't have a life crest yet. Original Dragon Nest Thread - raizoo - 2011-10-10 EarthAdept2 Wrote:Elementalist. Original Dragon Nest Thread - EarthAdept2 - 2011-10-10 I want to typically know which kind of mage people would prefer. I mean if everyone thinks eles are DPS monsters, then wouldn't that make going fire the better route in terms of partying? |
