Spoiler
Also apparently Bamco is releasing patches to try and fix camera issues. Reports of walls still making the camera its peach, but it's good everywhere else. Tales of Zestiria - JoeTang - 2015-10-21 ShinkuDragon Wrote:you could also do full B combos (at least with asbel), i haven-t played xillia 2 much actually, did beat xillia 1 where you could pull some pretty nut combos. but the problem i had with graces was how each attack had some sort of element that you had to memorize to be able to abuse the bosses with the break. That was pretty unforgivingly complex if you were on the higher difficulties. Xillia 1 and 2 simplified it a lot more with just 6 elements + 3 weapon types which were very obvious. Zestiria brings back the monster types though, but not the status types, so it's not as long a list as Graces'. Dark Link those dank gun combos. Tales of Zestiria - Coogi - 2015-10-21 Loving the game so far, only about 10 hours in. The only thing I don't like is I can't take screenshots or stream, this is first time I have experienced it and I don't see why they would do such a thing. I go to gamefaq and boy does xillia 2 get hammered. So far I still like Milla more than anyone in tales, gonna be hard to top her imo. Tales of Zestiria - ShinkuDragon - 2015-10-21 @dark_link; i... uhh... watched like the first 10 seconds and noped out, that looks very spoilery, especially since they're wearing that weapon i'd guess. Those batshit crazy combos that make Vesperia's combos look like child's play? Is this real life? Tales of Zestiria - shouri - 2015-10-24 ChronosXIII Wrote:I haven't played Xillia 1 or 2 yet, but...that...that's a mod right? The main character of ToX2 (not 1) has the ability to switch his weapons mid battle (via a 2 button simultaneous input). This switch freezes time for a fraction of a second so that you have enough time to move your fingers back too ![]() He can use dual blades, a sledgehammer, and dual pistols. Your artes switch based on weapon mode. This kind of comboing is NOT easy. This is not something you'll see in a typical playthrough. This takes a lot of forethought. Odds are you'll go for much smaller and effective combos in any given playthrough. Notedly: It looks like they did a model swap (probably some sort of mod) so that it looks like you're playing as a different character (Elle, the little girl shown in that fight) besides the main character (Ludger). Tales of Zestiria - MetaSeraphim - 2015-10-24 Dark Link Wrote:Sister picked up her CE The CE is beautiful. Even though you can still buy it at the moment the stuff that came with the CE is the reason to pre-order. Wish more games would do stuff like that. In the post-game dungeon, Illusionary Darkness, you can buy items that allows changing the models of characters. One of the items is you can become Elle. Also that sort of combo stuff is absolutely insane. He basically took advantage of all of the [R1+] LStick and [R1+] RStick commands. On the topic of Zestiria, seems someone figured a nifty trick to alleviate nearly all of the camera problems. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/168513-tales-of-zestiria/72696353 Needless to say I'll need to try this out, because my sister and I just finished the first chapter and the camera is already annoying as hell when we accidentally combo the enemy into a corner / wall. At least you can somewhat move the camera around during battle. Tales of Zestiria - ChronosXIII - 2015-11-02 So after playing it for a bit, I'm getting used to the battle system. It feels kind of easy-modo when I can just attack away, defend/Perfect-quickstep/stand back for a couple seconds to refill SC, attack away. Not being constrained by TP is fun as hell, but so far the early game is downright faceroll (except for that purple wolf near Ladylake...), especially if I use Armatization. The first time around I fought Echidna, I wiped because of the Lamias. Second time, I Armatized, stunned her, used Divine Phoenix Blade and basically one-shotted her, uhh... Tales of Zestiria - JoeTang - 2015-11-02 Matsuki Miyu, the VA for Lailah passed away. Friendly reminder to turn on JP audio and play as her. Gave it a few more tries where I left off, at the Dullahan boss. For the record, my highest member is 48. Dullahan is level 94 with 32494 HP and I basically chip at around 700 damage per Crown Fire if I can even get in range. Wouldn't be uncommon for the fight to start off with all my AI being immediately wiped because either they charge him, or he charges them. Lailah carried me through this though, after several tries. God bless. My last try before giving up last time was getting the boss down to 1k HP and dying immediately when I tried to close it. Had one of my runs end up like that too this time ._. He apparently has a ranged attack that he only uses at extremely low HP that OHKOs me if I'm not blocking. Super sketchy ending fight, where I had to wait for other characters to revive constantly so I could cast with a back up. Managed to bring him down at the end and my battle act auto-activated my Hi-Ougi and finished it. I'm planning to do my second playthrough with Japanese audio, and seeing that news just before on MAL was pretty shocking. It'll be weird playing the game knowing the person behind the character is no longer alive, especially in a dialogue heavy game like this. In lighter news, I think the localization team had something to do with it, but Edna is the best character. So deadpan, but the things she says or makes others do is hilarious. Tales of Zestiria - Dark Link - 2015-11-05 A lot of the dialogue in the game has been awesome and/or funny. Her deadpan delivery of insults and teasing is great in JP. Whenever she KOs in battle (and this happens to me a lot for obvious reasons), she says "Sorey, you useless..." which I still find funny every time. Lailah's over the top vigour and energy, and that certain keen curiosity is what I'll remember Matsuki Miyu by the most. The way she exclaims when something interests her ._. Anyways, I'm stuck on the boss immediately after the Trial of Wind. Back to grinding when I get the opportunity to play! Loving this ~100xp/battle. Tales of Zestiria - ChronosXIII - 2015-11-07
The localization team had too much fun with this game
And the "Sunglasses" say "Deal with It", so I promptly put that on Edna. So fitting. Tales of Zestiria - Dark Link - 2015-11-07 ChronosXIII Wrote: It's never supported the imgur URL to a "gallery". Anyways my sister and I beat the Earth Temple tonight and what a goddamn disappointment. We were expecting to fight a big bad at the end and turns out that wasn't the case. "Here's your Earth Armatus MA. Now be off with you." Off to the Wind temple. I do like exploring in this game though. Thankfully my sister doesn't mind it as we like fighting the super Hellion enemies. Although Water Armatus' "Arrow Squall" cheeses a lot of fights. We've also been playing on Hard mode since the beginning of the game. Tales of Zestiria - JoeTang - 2015-11-07 Dark Link Wrote:It's never supported the imgur URL to a "gallery". Everyone's Armatus except Wind (unless I just haven't unlocked it) can cheese fights really easily. Arrow Squall has a horrible drawback of being interruptable at all times. Even if you've cast it, if something hits you after it's already falling from the sky, it will stop. It's probably the highest range and AOE available for that tier though. Crown Fire and Calamity Flare are pretty cheesy too, especially since Calamity Flare pushes things. Crystal Tower and Earth Shaker cover a lot of area too without the interrupt drawback, but Crystal Tower has a target limit, and Earth Shaker is a tier up. I unlocked Trinity Arrow, but I didn't get a chance to try it yet =[ Tales of Zestiria - Dark Link - 2015-11-17 My sisters and I are at the end of the game on Hard and I can't believe Bamco had the goddamn nerve to incorporate a DPS check on the final boss. You have to do X damage to him within certain thresholds three different times and if you fail to meet the check you instantly die. What's worse is the checks get steeper and steeper at each threshold. We barely met the first one and we weren't even close on the second one. It forces us to go out and actively grind and gear / skill up just to finish the game. We're level 68-70 and apparently people had to get to the mid to upper 70s just to beat the boss on MODERATE.
