All I can say is:

Nexon has decided what to do.

There isn't really much to say now, is there?

Yeah, if you don't care about your server's economy and how utterly broken it's gonna be after this.

If they can fix it without a rollback, excellent.

I second this. I got form 175-190 today, I'd hate to lose that :<

I know that, but all we can do is complain.

I should have worded that better.

There's nothing we can DO.

Nexon's lack of interest in the economy never ceases to amaze me.

Already confirmed that there is no rollback.

I got a Rare -> Unique double jump. So I'd be a bit sad to lose that. On the other hand, I wasted ~10 S.Cubes on a Rare -> Epic, and ~15 S.Cubes on a Unique -> Unique. So that's a wash.

On the leveling side, I got from 6X -> 103 on a Phantom, 7X -> 103 on a WA and 6X -> 99 on a Mercedes. I would mind losing that, but given the obligatory 2X compensation, I couldn't care less, since all of that work was MPE solo, no lost party time or Aliens.

Roll it on back.

Yeah, I'm not putting faith into Nexon's words just yet. I'll most likely be wrong though.

The thing that frustrates me the most about when these sorts of exploits happen with no rollback is that sure, all those generated scrolls are probably (and hopefully) going to be deleted, but what about the ones that were already used? If they were generating no boom AEEs (as I am fairly sure they were now) then there's literally no reason why they wouldn't just throw hundreds of them on their Tyrant equips and have them finished at 15 stars. Clean Tyrant equips are already $150+, the price of a 15 star Tyrant equip would be atrociously high. I gather that's the only reason these hackers bother with exploits anymore. They really should have done a rollback. ._.

I really don't understand Nexon's reasoning for no rollback on this or the Phantom thing.

Let's do an analogy.
You live in a town where there was just a massive flood due to a dam breaking. You have a magical sorcerer in the town that has the ability to send everyone back in time and fix the dam before it breaks. Your town also has a single bucket, which could be used to remove the water from the town, one bucket-full at a time. The town decides to use the bucket.

Makes no sense to me.

And that bucket has a hole/crack*

Yes, all the things you looted during the flooding. Literally perfect.

It would be fine if Nexon actually did a good job of cleaning these messes up. Something always slips through though.

Hopefully Nexon catches this quick. - Shads - 2013-05-05

and this is why we should stop obamacare.

On a more series note, I seriously don't see why Nexon didn't just do a rollback, I mean that seems to be the only way to fix this issue, I would lose a few peridots (3) but still, why risk the economy for a few angry...... actually no you don't want too many angry people, nevermind.

Nexon probably knows they can't win.

Rollback: The economy is restored, but all of the exp, money spent, etc will have the commute in an uproar.
No Rollback: Most (but not all) of the items generated would be deleted. Economy damaged, and commute will be in an uproar.

They probably decided not to rollback for the lesser of two evils (in their eyes)

Rollbacks create significantly less of an uproar with appropriate compensation.

For example, in the situation I noted in the Phantom Changing thread, there was duping in JMS, and then there was a rollback followed by compensation. I lost like 7 levels on my Evan over the time that was rollbacked, but the compensation given allowed me to double that, as well as obtain rare items I didn't have and travel to areas I didn't go to because of extra EXP time. I was upset at first that I lost 7 levels, but that quickly changed and overall I was happy.

Proper compensation will ease the uproar caused by lost time.

On the other hand, they will never get rid of everything that was created and changed with these recent bugs, no matter how hard they try, they never do. The end result is breaking the economy, which is already fu'cked up to all hell and back, even more.
