I guess what he means is that not always your spawn point in near x-0 z-0, I was playing around with the seed to see what maps will appear with some words and my spawn point was something like x -227 z 244, thats quite far from x-0 z-0.

Then a easy solution, move yer ass until you are on the "x0 z0" and you will never get loss again :d

Chillin in an NPC village on my friend's new server, moving materials around getting ready to build a new house.

While walking through the village, I hear a bunch of zombies underground...well, no way was I going to live above a zombie dungeon, so I dig that pomegranate out.

Digging around, and the noises get louder...I know that they're behind this wall. Cracking it open, I see open darkness with movement. Place a torch so I can see the bastards...

My pineappleing face when group of Endermen. My friend described my reaction accurately...

Quote:And you went NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE and closed that s'hit up, right?

Edit: It was part of a mineshaft.

Silly Shenanigans involving redstone repeater

 Silly

 Silly2

 Silly 3

 Silly 4

 Silly 5

If this is intended or a bug," i dun knuw nuthin".

And as a bonus, PISTONVATOR!!!

Minecraft Discussions 2 - Zelkova - 2011-09-18

The third image isnt a bug.

You are powering a diamond block by using a torch and the repeater. all wires touching the block on all sides will get powered. I use this method for powering things like pistons when I dont have enough room to run wire.

Wut?

Edit: Nether brick, nether structures, ghast tears, some weird red thing that grows on soul sand, blaze rod and some other shenanigans.

Minecraft Discussions 2 - Solarboy - 2011-09-22

Yep, 1.9 pre release is now out. Why? I don't know.

It's from Jeb's twitter, so it's safe. Have fun murdering NPCs.

World Generator code was teaked apparently. A fucking lot of water chunks (I swear its a frgging ocean there). Also the pic is a Giant Mushroom biome with the mooshroom passive mob (And yes that a dirt block, only grey).

Lol... mushroom cows?

On a kinda-sorta-maybe related note: Is there any way to get more passive mobs (namely cows/chickens/pigs) to spawn? There used to be a lot near the village I spawned near, but after killing a good portion of them and waiting several days, it doesn't seem like they're coming back. Stunned (Currently playing 1.8)

Animals spawn in big herds at first and then spawn more every 500 million years or so.

Minecraft Discussions 2 - FenixR - 2011-09-22

Not the case in 1.9. Animals, Animals EVERYWHERE AHHHHH (Check that big mushroom pic there were a crapload more on that mushroom island.)

Also, FFS THERES A FRIGGING LOT OF WATER CHUNKS NOW QQ

any major bugs yet?

What opportune timing. I had planned on replicating the Toran castle from Suikoden 1 sometime soon, and finding a plot of water a couple hundred in both directions was proving a problem.

Do existing maps get modified as far as unexplored territory goes when there's an update? IE, could you wander into new bioms if it was unexpanded parts of the map?

EDIT: Seems someone beat me to the punch and I'm not so obsessed as to duplicate a project. Still, it was all rocky and I felt it would fit into Minecraft well. I may still create a base with the same theme, but not worry about scale accuracy.

Minecraft Discussions 2 - FenixR - 2011-09-22

New unexplored chunks will generate according to the new World Generation code.

And nothing major in terms of bugs, just a little more slowness overall im guessing its because of the massive numbers of passive mobs that now spawn or something.

Minecraft Discussions 2 - Katforks - 2011-09-23

Still not finding many passives, I think the new code for them doesn't apply to old generated map pieces.

The only problems I've been encountering so far is the server randomly memory leaks on rare occasion and we get chunk loading problems. Found a abandoned mineshaft this way but damn are those hard to navigate. Plus the one we found is covered in lava so.

Minecraft Discussions 2 - Jon - 2011-09-28

1.9 is looking to be quite the update. Potions, Mushroom biome (with specific mobs and blocks), that'sallIcanrememberrightnowlol. Weee.

Also, they're going to court about the stupid Scrolls name thing.
