It's an incredible, amazing series. I had reservations about it at first too but after actually playing it I got hooked. The story is incredible, gameplay is even better.

Honestly this is the first time I've ever even seen any gameplay of the series.

I suggest it as well. If you decide to pick it up, the first one is a little slow but after that, #2 and Brotherhood play really well and are great games. Don't lose hope in the first one, it gets better.
