Last I checked, Potential System was the cause of the damage inflation, not Big Bang. People QQing about the damage inflation are kinda late =/
In fact, it's the same thing in WoW for Cataclysm. Damage inflation through the roof, but mobs HP was skyrocketed to compensate.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't want it because it's not MapleStory.
It's an entirely different game. Different monsters, different maps, different skills, different equipment (tho that came early, with potential)... It just looks a bit alike, and uses the same names. A rip-off of Maple, but "everything you know is wrong."
I don't mind things getting easier, if they do. I would welcome a new training area where it would take me less than 3000 hours (of 1x) to get to level 200.
I also don't mind lower levels getting better training mobs or gear, and being able to do in months what took me years.
What I mind is switching games.
I figure if I'm going to play a new game, might as well make it one that Nexon doesn't own. Since, for all the "revamp" and even hoped-for Win7-compatible client, they're not fixing the fundamental design flaws that make this game so prone to getting hacked/glitched/abused. They're also not taking care of the intolerable lags, lack of in-game GM presence or any kind of customer service, and their NX-greed just keeps getting worse. Why would I want to learn a new game with the same flaws? Just because Nexon gives me a free level 176 warrior (with some barely decent gear, way too much dex, and a set of skills I don't know) and tell me it's still my Hero that I know and love? Sorry, my mind doesn't work that way.

On the other hand, im fairly suprised, but they've had about 4 months since the first big bang patch, so its not completely crazy, but it was pretty damn fast.

There's just ooooone problem. They don't say an exact date for the patch, so for all we know, they'll probably release it not next patch, but a few patches from now.
But this confirms that they are indeed working on it and that its release is approaching. I can't wait... to see how much my lukless blood priest will be messed up. xd

I cant think of a single time they've mentioned something in an official post like this and not released it next patch.
People always seem to think this and it never happens like that.
Maybe via like twitter or something, but never an official post.

I agree potential is a little over the top for the ones that use extreme amounts of NX to get 12%+ on every single piece of gear, but for the average user, potential will give you a few thousand more damage at most. Can't keep up with the best and/or OC players? So what?
The code and hacker arguement I full heartedly agree with, though you will find that in many many games that have similar gameplay. MapleStory is the only really good 2D game of its kind, it's not like that will change, or you finding a new one that can take Maples place.
The management issues you will find everywhere, I just quit Dragonica because Barunson and gPotato outdid even Nexon in dumb cashshop descisions, blatant lies and greedy systems. It seems to be a general trend in online gaming lately, to make players lean more heavily on cashshop content.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention...
Something needs to be done for client compatibility for Win7 first, or I'm afraid anything the Big Bang patch will change will all be for naught. lol
