If they can hit at least 4 parts of HT they are already at around the same DPS as night lords.

EDIT: And that's not accounting for the increase in power to mage's ultimates and 1v1 skills and Element Amp.

Weapon damage reflect isn't really problem since it can be timed like all other forms of DR, it's just a really dumb way of attempting to add difficulty to a boss. If it's timed, all it really does is make wyverns more annoying since using an ultimate practically anywhere while one of the heads has magic reflect up is instant death, same with dragon roars, etc. for weapon and any mob skill used against the wyverns when they're flying around the heads. Chaos horntail seems impossible on many levels, good luck having any mp to use with the massive mp burn or 1/1s and potion lock, not to mention zombify prevents you from being healed.

Max damage before defense is 0.0085*attack^2, and keep in mind that the values are before the wings powers them up.

From the black mage familiar, Nexon wants to add higher-level content to the game, but they can’t do that without A) increasing the max level or B) increasing the possibilities for stats.
Increasing the max level wouldn’t work because of exponential experience growth; however, increasing stat/scrolling possibilities would. This explains all the buffs that Nexon has been giving out lately: better jobs, auto-casting pet buffs, enhancement system, etc. And of course, this seems to be exactly what they are doing: making it possible to buff yourself to better than what a current lvl 200 would look like – all for players to be able to defeat Pink Been, the Black Mage helper, and eventually the Black Mage, so please stop whining about having no high level content as they are preparing for the future.

Taking from seal's comment... am I the only one not overreacting because I know that this is TESPIA?

EXP, Stats, Drops, hell, even the whole idea might be provisional, and get a lot of changes, or even be completely scrapped. We haven't seen the item stars thingy get to official servers, seems it won't make it past Tespia, at least until it gets some SERIOUS changes.

This is from a test server, don't take everything as "omfg this is the future of maple!!" because it's probably not accurate.

Well, obviously not. Of course these are only in the testing phase. I don't think Nexon would release a boss that's literally IMPOSSIBLE to defeat in the real server. Things are going to be changed, you can bet on it. If they're not changed at all, Nexon is stupid.

Pink Bean isn't impossible, as proven by JapanMS. Chaos Horntail, however, is a super strong boss that easily does over 10k damage per attack, casts Seduce, Damage Reflect and has 90 avoidability. Warriors and Vipers cannot hit that and most ranged people won't have the proper HP to survive. Not to mention the new "No Potion" curse.

I'm failing to see much difference between this new hell mode HornTail and Pink Bean other then the time limit, map layout and ones mobile and one isnt. Both do obscene damage and cast all sorts of nightmarish curses. If anything hell mode HT is still going to be much easier than Pink Bean.

I wasnt saying Pink Bean was impossible (although it might as well still hold that title considering how many times its been beaten since its release). I was using it as an example of 'Nexons stupidy' as you would put it. Its well beyond achieveable for anyone who hasnt pumped as much mesos/$$$/ time into their chars as the JMS squad did.

upgrade to chaos mode, nice one. nowadays a lot of godly weapon and PRO build charater, is time to make to boss harder to be defeated. 10% HP/MP, kind good instead of washing HP. i do hope new weapon to be released especially for axe & blunt + crossbow.

10% of nothing is still nothing.
Unwashed archers and nl's will have a few paltry hundred HP more, not nearly enough to survive 10k-hitting bosses. And washed warriors with over 20k HP will get 2k more that they don't need because they're over the HP limit with HB anyway.

Would be better to just add a fixed 1k HP (or some other number) instead of something %-based.

5k hp turns into 5.5k. And if you add those other 10% earrings, that's 6k. 6.5k with chaos HT pendant. Add in hb, and, with just the helmet and earrings, it goes up to around 10k. Also, may I remind you that hp equips are also improved by this? 100 hp equips add 110 hp.

I see this easier that it seems.

too bad people in gMS are dmg wh0re, they wont sacrifice 10 luk for 100 hp you know...

so 10% HP will worth nothing in gMS unless it come with an item that already give a lot of secondary stats.

You would only need 6.3k to survive a 10k hit. That's not even that much to spend on for HP wash. Not to mention there will be Lex Earrings, new Zakum Helmet which you can get before attempting Chaos HT. That would be an extra ~1200 HP or so depending that your HP is 6k base, putting the range with the minimum HP at 7500 HP, 12000 with HB. We'll also have balance patch before this even happens which may help a little, though not sure how much Threaten can help in HT when we mostly get hit with magic att.

You also have to add in skills like Evans Magic Resistance, or Arans Combo Barrier, or whatever other skill they release with the new legends/classes, oh look, Shadowers may be more wanted in boss runs too Biggrin

Atleast Heroes/Paladins can ram horntail with PG if they need to hit it Rolleyes

Glad to hear that "No Potions" MAY be able to be dispelled, still makes Chaos HT a Challenge but not impossible.
