I could say the same thing about mages v bishops or shadowers v NLs.

They're two different types of classes. Saying that there is no balance between the two holds no merit.

Yes, you could say that about Arch Mages vs. Bishops. But at least Arch Mages got some good help. As for Shadowers vs. Night Lords, I would say they are pretty balanced now.

I........... I...................... Dragon Strike................. wow. I wonder where this places us on the EXP/hour scale. Just add bossing fix and we're set.

Wow legal constant godmode, eh?

No different than Shadowers godmoding with Boomerang Step, hax avoid, 40% Shadow Shifter, and Dark Sight + Assassinate spam. Rolleyes

Looks like they were the kind of updates that didn't look like much written down, but actually made a huge difference in practice.

Lol except this is easier than Shadower's and Bucs have more HP and have Stance. xD

When 90% of hits are misses you don't really need stance. o.o

Also, we more or less have the same HP.

Balancing is over - Rick - 2010-01-12

I'd still say Shadowers are the most hax class when it comes to godmode. With a Buccaneer, if you stop for a short moment you are vulnerable. With a Shadower, if you stop momentarily the monster still has to break through your 40% passive godmode and then get past your extremely high avoid =]

Touche to both of you.

Also, using a stopwatch the delay between each Dragon Strike wasn't changed, but the animation was. It took ~2.3-2.4 seconds to use 2 Dragon Strikes with the new change, and before it was ~2.7-2.8 seconds. The change means ~15% increased training speed, probably a little more.

Do want. Heart Heart Heart

Now we just need a 30% decrease in demolitions speed and we'll be set.

Naw. More Transform time works just as well. Maybe also add back the STR bonus the transformed states supposedly gave. OR allow regular Transformation (Blue) to also gain access to Super Transformation skills.

So many possibilities to fix Buccaneers. It'll take a few days to maybe a week for kMS to churn out the next set of balance fixes though. Frown

IF they do, alot of people think they have finished.

The latter would be ridiculously amazing. There's no real reason why regular transform shouldn't have access to ST skills. Demolition = just as strong as assassinate, and we can only use it 1/2 of the time. Goggleemoticon Not to mention the fact that we need to spend 50 SP to make it as strong as assassinate. >_>

I'm starting to believe that balancing is over though.

WOOHOO LEGAL GODMODE Big Grin

I'm happy Tongue

either make SSuper transform work longer/cooldown faster; the str bonus with the speed bonus makes it more enticing, but really isn't that much of a necessity. Reg. Transform should be a ble to use S. Transform stuff- that would lengthen the time we can demo o_o

I'm sure it's not, because in the ad for the 1/7 balance patch posted by Spadow, it said

"PS: Don’t be disappointed if you don’t see a change of your job. The transformation of the Adventurer continues!" I'm interpreting that as there WILL be more balance patches coming soon.

Then there was this from the Q&A of the kMS interview:
* When asked if they will make Adventurer stronger, they said a balancing patch is scheduled for January.
* In March there will be a really big patch.

"A", instead of "The". This implies there will be more balance patches. The fact they still didn't revamped the Mage formula yet means there should still be fixes in the future. They want to balance the Adventurers before March. So we then have........... ~1 and a half months left to see what else there may be in store. I'm not trying to live a pipe dream, but being optimistic that this isn't all that kMS will balance (the latest kMS patch).

That was posted on the preview for the patch on the 7th. A few days after that preview, skill change patch #3 came out which fixed a few more classes.

The march patch is referring to the new high level area they talked about. That would indeed be "a really big patch". Especially if it's a stronger version of time temple, with completely different everything as well as a new high level boss. (which doesn't really make sense considering PB isn't dead yet) If the big patch isn't that, then it could be the patch that makes MS compatible with vista/7.

Being pessimistic is better than being optimistic in my opinion. If they come out with more changes, hooray. If not, then i'm not disappointed.

Personally for me I'd hardly count KMST 1.2278 as that final transformation. I'm still believing it wasn't talking about the KMST patches but actual kMS patches that have to do with balancing Adventurers, because when's the last time you saw on the Maplestory site a detailed list of all changes/additions a patch will bring before it arrives on the actual server?

But hey, I do agree sometimes not getting your hopes high is a better idea. Guess I can just remain neutral on the true meaning behind the words said on the preview ad for the 1/7 patch saying that "the transformation of the Adventurer continues".

I think you're reading too much into the semantics of their word choice -- especially when it's just a translation from Korean.

I'm incredibly pessimistic about future "balancing." Even if they do more balancing, and even if they do it well (unlikely), they'll probably screw it up again with another bullsh't ring or some such.
