FFFFFFFFFFFFFF! I cannot rave about Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell enough. GitS is smart sci-fi on the level that TTGL is manly sci-fi, and Bebop... there's just nothing wrong with that show- absolutely everything is phenomenal.
Outlaw Star is classic, watched that back on Toonami. Very fun. Beck was not exactly my preferred genre, but it stands apart because I've really never seen a show with a plot like it, or the effort to integrate multiple languages. It was very well executed slice-of-life/comedy/drama and is worth watching.
I like that /a/ chart, quite a few things I've never heard of either.

Diebuster is kinda like Gurren Lagann (made by Gainax as well). I advise you watch Gunbuster first, to understand Diebuster better. They're completely different (I mean copletely, Gunbuster doesn't have as much of the Gurren Lagann feel, and is much more "realistic"), but tie into each other.
By the way, FLCL ties in with Diebuster as well.

Also, you said you like Dokuro, you may enjoy Seto no Hanayome. It's not exactly TORTURE LOVE KILL REVIVE LOL, but it's certainly a hilarious romantic comedy.

Those are the drama CDs I mentioned earlier in this thread. They're considered canon with the original story by most.

Oh okay, good. I was just watching the singalong threads out of boredom. I think out of all the "/a/ sings" threads, COLORS was done the worst. But I think they're all bad anyway. Probably rivals the "/a/ themesong" that was worked on in an attempt to make something like what /jp/ had.
