#1. Aran (Polearm Warrior Hero Class)
#2. Thief (dagger) Hero Class
#3. Mage Hero Class
#4. Pirate Hero Class
#5. Archer (Bow) Hero Class

Looks pretty clear to me.
Darn.....Anyone else here want a crossbowman-Hero class?

I do. Crossbows need more value in the Free Market. I wouldn't speculate too much on that picture. It's just concept art just for the introduction of Aran. I doubt that Wizet had everything planned out while designing Aran.

The various names of the equips got me thinking. The names could just be descriptive of what they look like rather than having any elemental properties.

What if this mage doesn't have any elements at all? That would be a big help at bosses where element resistances play a role. Instead of having elements, this mage could end up using a lot of status effects like slow, darkness, seal, and stun. A mage with a skill that can knockback monsters would be cool. Another possibility is a skill similar to a corsair's rarely used hypnotize.

Maybe this is a mob trainer class, and dragon is just one of the many mobs you'll be able to train? God I'm so excited! I never thought they'd make the mage class this awesome sounding. I...CAN'T WAIT AHHHHHH

[1.2.265] New mage class! - Holypie - 2009-11-17

A dragon by level 50? If they were able to train multiple creatures, I assume the dragon would be the strongest of them.

Giving a Legendary class Hyperbody completely destroys the point of ever creating a Dragon Knight. Notice how Nexon Korea made Aran complement the other classes with Combo Barrier? I think it will be the same way with the rest of the classes.

What about the other two warrior classes, Heros and Paladins. What use are they since Arans beat them in DPS?

wtp is wrong with people and wanting to have the best DPS, or the best mobbing, or the fastest training, or the flashiest skills. What the hell happened to the pride of being an old school class like a paladin, hero, or a DK. I mainly play my Corsair and I still wish I had one of the original adventurers(warrior, archer, mage, theif). I don't see how people leave their main character that they've played for years just because new classes are being released. I know I ain't leaving my Corsair Rolleyes

Don't get me wrong on this one but this goes for 90% of the maple population:

1. Most people are bored to death by the adventurer classes, and want to make something new.

2. If they make a new class they want to have a LOT of DPS because adventurers can't even properly beat pink bean right now, and that's not even the end boss...

3. A lot of people are frustrated by the fact that they play a lolGTFOweakSHIET class, at bosses like Pink Bean, or classes that can't survive without investing like 2000 dollars into HP washing that only addicted nerds would invest in a 2D pixel game. Ask yourself, would you take Shadowers / Buccaneers / Paladins / Marksmen / etc to Pink Bean if you can get insane washed BM's / NL's instead of them? PB is -all- about DPS, especially with the timer, it kills -all- possible usefulness of ANY other class -could- have (Smokescreen? Timeleap? Heaven's Hammer?)... It's all about zOMG DPS classes... (that can survive).

4. Hmmmm, you play a Corsair? Would you still play it if it did like 50% of it's damage? Wink

That's why everyone is looking to the Hero classes for deciding if they're gonna make one to actually be wanted / useful in end-game content.

What #2 is using looks something like a Gold Double Knife to me, not a sword.

Pirate might not be carrying knuclers, maybe its a gun in each hand Cool

No idea why the Bowman there has a Bow instead of crossbow, maybe its a combination of both since wind archers seem to have both crossbow and bm like skills (mobbing and single target skills).

The picture is somewhat weird, they got the ranged classes in the front line and the melee at the back o_o

LOL this is coming from the guy that thinks Cygnus Knights are actually useful at bossing. Adventurers suck now?

Indeed. I treat getting more damage as just a side treat in the game, it's not necessary. I wouldn't quit if all my scrolled equips were gone or anything like that.

Devil Wrote:Don't get me wrong on this one but this goes for 90% of the maple population:

I love where you get your numbers from. When you make arguments I always see you pulling numbers out of the air that are usually gross exaggerations.

1. Most people are bored to death by the adventurer classes, and want to make something new.

Don't know where you get the "most people" from. You assume way too much. Just because you know a certain group of people that this applies to doesn't mean that it applies to everyone. Lots of people played Cygnus Knights just to get the buff and went right back onto their mains. Maple in General gets a bit boring after grinding nonstop forever. Sure, there are people who will be all up for the band wagon and quitting their mains for the new characters, but you have the idea that adventurers will go completely extinct, which I really don't see happening.

2. If they make a new class they want to have a LOT of DPS because adventurers can't even properly beat pink bean right now, and that's not even the end boss...

I don't think a lot of people ask themselves "OH, CAN I KILL PB WITH THIS CHARACTER!?" when they make a new character. If they do, then they're probably not even going to enjoy the character, since they decided to play it over something so trivial.

3. A lot of people are frustrated by the fact that they play a lolGTFOweakSHIET class, at bosses like Pink Bean, or classes that can't survive without investing like 2000 dollars into HP washing that only addicted nerds would invest in a 2D pixel game. You're still using PB as an example, as if everyone wants to make a character solely to fight him. Lots of people don't even seem like they'd bother attempting to fight PB. Pink Bean isn't the most fun feature in the game, the game isn't only about Pink Bean. You're putting too much stress on something that's pretty trivial.

4. Hmmmm, you play a Corsair? Would you still play it if it did like 50% of it's damage? Wink

You're directing this question to him, but I'll answer it I guess. You seem to be making the assumption that simple because Corsairs have high DPS, everyone who picks them only plays them because of their damage. I play an outlaw, not at Corsair yet, but as someone who's played mostly mage classes, I can say that outlaw is fun enough to play regardless of what the DPS is. hen I made my first character, it was before 4th job, but I knew very well that mages were a class that were outdamaged later on. I still picked it because it seemed the most fun class to play. Yeah, remember that word? FUN, it's a word that doesn't have DPS in it's definition, you might want to try it sometime. You're too focused on damage and being THE BEST.

I know, there are people who play exclusively for damage, but don't assume that's everyone. You're thinking things through with too much of a one track mind. Let all the LOLDAMAGE=BESTCLASS people move to the Legendaries if they want. It doesn't bother me.

That's why everyone is looking to the Hero classes for deciding if they're gonna make one to actually be wanted / useful in end-game content.

Or, maybe they're looking to it because it has the potential to be a unique playing experience? We know nothing of this new class other than it has dragon mounts with equips and will most likely be a mage. Mages usually suck at single target DPS, so nobody should be nearly excited as they are if your assumption is correct. Most people should go "lol, it's a mage guys, just wait for the other classes to be released caus this will suck."
.

I am just saying how it is. I enjoy playing my Dark Knight even though a ton of people see it nothing more than a support class nowadays.

You know, since Aran are basically warriors with ultimates the Mage maybe a godly single target class.

Devil Wrote:4. Hmmmm, you play a Corsair? Would you still play it if it did like 50% of it's damage? Wink

I played as a Paladin. Before that, at level 170, I played as a white knight with less than 20% of its efficiency*. Yet I stopped training and playing when 4th job came out.

The reason was because leveling wasn't funny anymore. Noone aimed for 200 before 4th, and noone really cared. We just played together because it was fun, not because we were trying to level up the most.

During 160-170, I also experienced, several times actually, that priests went to train with me instead of certain night lords or dragon knights. Not because they got more experience with me. In fact, they got less. However, those players were more into grinding, and didn't speak much with the priest. Speaking with the priest felt made them feel more comfortable with grinding instead of just killing monsters. I have one counterexample as well, but that person quit exactly because of that: MapleStory became too boring, and they stopped because it went too slow. Maybe you're in that category, but I certainly am not.

*A random number, but I assume quintupling the experience per hour compared to wk + priest is a significant increase nevertheless.

For a class you can get to lvl120 (within 1 month easy) without leeching, for the power of a lvl 140 adventurer class, they're pretty good at bossing for the little effort you have to put into them to get to their max potential...

Btw, you're the one who's saying Cygnus aren't useful at bossing, so you're also the one who's saying any Adventurer class besides Bish/DkK/BM/NL/CS and/or lower then lvl140 aren't useful either because they're too weak or they lack usefulness to boss... :f6:

Anyway, back on topic:
The masks are for lvl 20, 50 and 120... odd numbers? not 20/70/120?

[1.2.265] New mage class! - Vovez - 2009-11-17

assuming that they get their mount only from level 50,

and they get their first piece of "mount" gear at 20,or so is the level requirement,

i'd say its not battle mount, but more like battle summon?
Heart

i really hope its a summoner .

Could be like Cygnus this class's level limit is 120. 200 > 120 > 200 > 120, maybe KMS is doing a level theme.

How about 200+?
this could be challenging but many people will hate that
(strongest char)

They would have to change the entire exp and level system for that.

[1.2.265] New mage class! - Saar331 - 2009-11-17

so no,lol
But the know the fact that maplers are bored of the usual things in this game so theyre trying to improve but adding different systems
if i wwould work for nexon,i would recommend making more dual PQS and competitive ones

MetaSeraphim Wrote:They would have to change the entire exp and level system for that.
If they double their size on the exp-place-holder and change it to unsigned, we can play far above level 600. Though, you'd need 4 exaexperience to get from 599 to 600, so I wouldn't really say it would be interesting, yet possible in this lifetime. (Equals to leveling over one million characters from 1 to 200, exp-wise)

It's completely doable though.
