Bizarre Monster Book Error - MetaSeraphim - 2009-06-26 BombsAway Wrote:That's all they have in common!? :O They mainly hunt for high level monsters (Skelegon, Skelesaurus, Nest Golem, Zakum, Horned Tail, etc.) since instead of starting at the ground and going up they started at the top and went down. lol Bizarre Monster Book Error - Alloy - 2009-06-26 Site Homunculus Jr. Newtie Papulatus Jr. Balrog Leviathan Those are the ones I had in common with that last list. Bizarre Monster Book Error - Herbert Jablonski - 2009-06-26 modular Wrote:have you picked up 4 other new-to-your-book non-tt / non-ellin cards since patch time? I've only picked up one mossy snail and one tree rod card since the patch. I have picked up absolutely no cards since then, mostly out of fear that I might mess up my monsterbook even further. I get what you're trying to imply though. What you're saying is if I were to pick up 6 new cards, then all cards after it would get moved 6 cards over. I don't think it entirely works like that, but you're getting close to what I think. I think picking up the new cards have essentially "pushed" cards into later cards in the same tab or in later tabs because the new cards are messing up the numbering of all existing cards after where ever the new card is located at. I'm not able to explain it much further than that due to not knowing enough about the problem. Every card after Mossy Snail is getting pushed into later cards because of conflicting problems in the new cards versus the old ones. It should be safe to pick up any card to add it to your monster book if it appears in the red tab, orange tab, and any card in the light green tab before Mossy Snail. Bizarre Monster Book Error - modular - 2009-06-26 Herbert Jablonski Wrote:-snip- ok, cool... i dont have a way to explain why your cards are moved by 6 then. sucky. hmm.. at this point i think i need to get a(n old) light blue card or higher. at only 72 most of these monsters look a little tough to be training on, because thats what ill need to do for such high monsters. isaac, ill bet that once you screw it up every subsequent card will mess with it more. more on this when i screw modular's up. gotta get my 4 free king slime cards!
Bizarre Monster Book Error - MetaSeraphim - 2009-06-26 It's basically like a virus, once you've picked up one of the EF or ToT Monster Cards you book will be screwed up no matter which card you picked up. The only ones who are safe from this are the ones who haven't picked up a EF or ToT card. I wish I had a mule I could mess around on and see if I could get maxed Zakum, Horned Tail, and Pink Bean. lol Bizarre Monster Book Error - modular - 2009-06-26 MetaSeraphim Wrote:I wish I had a mule I could mess around on and see if I could get maxed Zakum, Horned Tail, and Pink Bean. lol the glitch only messes w/ cards you already have, and as far as i know you dont have a pb card.
Bizarre Monster Book Error - MetaSeraphim - 2009-06-26 Don't ruin my dream! Bizarre Monster Book Error - Stereo - 2009-06-26 IsaacGS Wrote:I got Horntail last night, it still messed up my book (went from 1 horntail to 5) Did the monster after Horntail have a 5 card at the time (Stumpy) and then go to 1? I'd think if it's pushing everything forward by 1, then whatever is displaying at the HT position would have previously been in the Stumpy position, and slide everything beyond that back a space. Like if it starts like this King Slime 5 Alishar 1 Papa Pixie 5 Papulatus 2 Stumpy 1 Deo 1 (...) When it pushes that ahead by 2, you end up with King Slime (prev2) Alishar (prev1) Papa Pixie 5 Papulatus 1 Stumpy 5 Deo 2 When you toss in an HT card, it inserts into the original sequence like King Slime 5 Alishar 1 Papa Pixie 5 Papulatus 2 Horntail 1 Stumpy 1 Deo 1 But since the actual numbers are shifted by 2, you get King Slime (prev2) Alishar (prev1) Papa Pixie 5 Papulatus 1 Horntail 5 Stumpy 2 Deo 1 Bizarre Monster Book Error - IsaacGS - 2009-06-26 I did previously have 5 Jr. Balrog (due to an earlier glitch) but after it moved to 5 horntail, it also went to 3 Jr. Rog and 5 leviathan. X_X Bizarre Monster Book Error - Raph589 - 2009-06-26 Okay so, i was doing some experiences with this glitch. I went on my pirate lv 34 and i hunted moss snails. I picked up a card and it did nothing. Four options for that: 1.Moss snail card is not glitched 2. It only glitch when your monster book have a lot of cards in it (mine has only 9 cards) 3. My character is strange 4.The glitch is fixed (just kidding) Bizarre Monster Book Error - Doxinator - 2009-06-26 Well, I was feeling gutsy on my Buccaneer and picked up a card in TT. Relogged, and found out that I didn't get shuffled. I don't have any other card after the Chief Memory Guardian, except 1 Seruf Card, which remained. Isaac then informed me that I had to have one or more of a card after the card I picked up in order to be shuffled. Bizarre Monster Book Error - IsaacGS - 2009-06-27 Alright so I decided to experiment with this some. went to Elin to hunt some monsters there, and found stone bug. Now, I watched what happened. Prior to the stone bug:

After:
Spoiler
Do you see what happened? Look at Blood Harp and Dual Ghost Pirate, Blue Kentaurus and Blue Dragon Turtle. Notice they're exactly 3 (filled in) spaces apart. Now the patter sort of breaks down as it goes farther on, but... that's something, right? Bizarre Monster Book Error - Feileacan - 2009-06-27 IsaacGS Wrote:Alright so I decided to experiment with this some. went to Elin to hunt some monsters there, and found stone bug. Now, I watched what happened. Isaac, you may be on to something. The 3 pattern has happened in my book as well, only with a lot less cards. Here's a list of my purple, black, and special tabs: Pre-v.72: 5 Jr. Newtie 3 Skelosaurus 5 Nest Golem 5 King Slime 5 Alishar 5 Lord Pirate 5 Papa Pixie 5 Frankenroid 5 Crimson Balrog After Picking up a Memory Monk card: 5 Jr. Newtie 5 Memory Monk (should be 1) 5 Skelosaurus (should be 3) 5 Nest Golem 1 King Slime (should be 5) 3 Alishar (should be 5) 5 Lord Pirate 5 Papa Pixie 5 Frankenroid 5 Crimson Balrog So it looks like the numbers of my cards have shifted to the cards that are 3 over from the proper one. And the ones at the end got filled in in the empty spaces from the shift. Bizarre Monster Book Error - Tykian - 2009-06-27 Someone pointed out on an earlier page that there were 3 "missing id's". from 72-76. If you count the missing ID's, there is 73, 74 and 75. Coincidence? Bizarre Monster Book Error - Dusk - 2009-06-27 I don't think picking up the new cards messes up your monster book at all. My Skelegon cards say I have 1 even though I have them maxed, but when I found yet another Skelosaurus monster card yesterday it deleted itself because I apparently already have them maxed. Meaning the game knows that I still have maxed Skele cards, but the monster book is simply showing me the wrong information. Most likely your monster book data is stored as a series of bytes and read in a particular order. The client side display data hasn't been updated, so it's spitting out unpredictable numbers that don't match what you actually have. Bizarre Monster Book Error - Holypie - 2009-06-27 When you say you found a Skelosaurus card do you mean to say Skelegon? When I Papped the day of the patch and got a Pap card, it actually added it to my book. That's what made me notice all of this in the first place. If it knew I already had max Paps, it wouldn't have allowed that one to be added. That's what you're saying, right? Yeah, well that's just what happened to me, but I guess that debunks my theory. |
