Ask a Pirate Thread - MasPan - 2009-05-24 Shadow Trainer Wrote:I'm not on the level where I can use Wings and Recoil Shot yet and I'm wondering what would be the most efficient way to use them both? I have Recoil by itself, and Wings on a macro - if you press WingMacro while in the air, it is used as soon as you touch the ground, which is more efficient than trying to do it manually. This way, I can also use Wings and Recoil seperately, I can Recoil without using Wings if needed (short hops), and I can use Wings without having to launch myself. If it isn't clear, I use Wings by itself in a Macro. Ask a Pirate Thread - Beaner - 2009-05-24 you cast it once and as long as the monster is alive you will hit it not other ones. awesome for zakum cuz of summons. and HT cuz it has many parts. when you use use bullseye you get a 1.2 multiplyer to your dmg, that is a lot, so you can do tons more dmg. my boy alex, likes numbers and he says that if same level his corsair outdmges his BM using bullseye. so yeah it is awesome. that is of course in your boat shooting canonballs. hope this helps and i am sure actual gunners can explain it better, but i tried. Ask a Pirate Thread - Dusk - 2009-05-24 ItzLouis Wrote:So I've just recently hit 4th job for my gunslinger and i've been questioning myself about this question since lvl 70. 20% is a huge difference. Compare max MW, which adds less than 10% damage and still makes a big difference on killing speed. Bullseye is the most important 2nd tier skill you get for bossing. There's no other reason to max Bullseye (unless for some reason you need to KB something that you can't KB with Cannon and can't hit with Torpedo - Pap 2nd form?), and max Homing is only used to max Bullseye. The Homing effect is incredibly helpful against any boss that summons but it doesn't change at all from level 1 Homing to max Bullseye. I've had Recoil, Wings, and m(RecoilWings-) on separate buttons for like 100 levels now. I am now switching to Recoil and m(Wings--). Sweet. @XBish below: I was multi-quoting MasPan and clicked on your post by accident. Tried to erase it but didn't do the job right. Fixed now. Thank you - I discovered that particular quirk of macvros on my DrK - if a skill is unusable in the air, it fires off as soon as you land. VERY useful with Rush, as landing on the edge of a monster-ridden platform doesn't necessarily mean you will fall off (for stance-less people). I can make a thread about it if it isn't widely-known knowledge. Ask a Pirate Thread - ItzLouis - 2009-05-25 Dusk Wrote:20% is a huge difference. Thanks for the answer. ![]() I have another question. Does battleship cannon shoot faster than burst fire or is it the same speed? We just tested this together not 2 days ago. Ask a Pirate Thread - Potora - 2009-05-26 Cant decide what to put skill point in. Kinda minor since it's only one point, but I'm so picky on these things. Help pl0x. I just reached Lv. 131 and I have 1 Elemental Boost, 1 Wraith of Octopi, 1 Aerial Strike, 1 Battleship, 30 Battleship Cannon, and 1 Battleship Torpedo. I finished maxing Cannon as soon as I hit Lv. 131, but I have one skill point left over and I cant decide if I should put the point in Homing or immediately start maxing Torpedo, or maybe even something else. I'm not much of a bosser. I've never fought pap, pianus, anego, bigfoot, etc, but I want to try it eventually (bosses get me nervous so I don't do it much). So maybe I should throw a point into Homing just to try bossing and see what I can do just for the lulz, and then maxing torpedo afterwards. Or is Lv. 1 Homing useless and should I just go for torpedo right now? I loveeee training. I practically live in the skeles mini dungeon and I've read torpedo is really amazing there. Or should I start throwing points into Battleship for more time in the ship? I have really good control so my ship doesn't break that much, but I know we recently got skill updates that help battleship. Soooo what should I do my fellow SouthPerrians? pook:
Ask a Pirate Thread - Holypie - 2009-05-26 Dusk Wrote:That thread is wrong. is the (-X number) booster? because i thought booster was reducing your speed (as in normal, fast (4) etc) by 2? Ask a Pirate Thread - IllegallySane - 2009-05-26 With the new changes to make both Transform and Super Transform a form of self haste, what is the supposed way people are increasing Demolition and Super Transform? I already have 30 Dragon Strike and 21 Barrage (happy at it's current level since it pretty much KOs a Skele once I stun it). Right now my thoughts are that maxing out a level 20 Super Transform help speed up regular training. Demolition is pretty much useless without a 4 minute Super Transform cooldown. At least Super Transform can be used in regular training as well as a mini Maple Warrior/Iron Body/Haste (+30 STR/+60 Def/+40 Speed/+20 Jump? Yes please). Ask a Pirate Thread - Dusk - 2009-05-26 Potora Wrote:Cant decide what to put skill point in. Kinda minor since it's only one point, but I'm so picky on these things. Help pl0x.You won't need bossing skills to boss. In my experience the only boss I'd really like more Battleship at is Zakum. At Pap my ship breaks once or twice, at Pianus it rarely breaks at all, and for ship HP is meaningless at Anego/Bigfoot for obvious reasons. Pap 2nd form is a peach to solo if you can't consistently KB him, and for this reason Bullseye can help, but other than that it's just going to increase damage and make the boss die faster. It's not essential if you just boss occasionally for giggles. Level 1 Bullseye hardly makes a difference at all. I got one point just for fun (the animation changes). For Skele MD, the two skills to focus on are Torp and Air Strike. Torp is simply amazing, and I'd recommend getting 11 ASAP. Don't let 1 Bullseye delay 11 Torpedo by a level - though it seems like you'll be okay if you put 2 points into fun skills and 10 into Torpedo to get it at level 135. After that, it really depends on who you train with. If you train solo, I'd do 21 Torp -> Max Air Strike -> Max Torp. 21 Torp is enough to cut down Skele mobs really quickly, and Air Strike will help you get a few kills without climbing up and down too much. With Max Air Strike you pretty much never have to go to the top platform, you can just bomb it 2-3 times as you pass by the top. Air Strike is also helpful when your ship breaks. I would much rather have max Air Strike than max Rapid Fire when my ship breaks. If you train with a magician a lot, you'll probably be confined to clearing the bottom for them as they rape the rest of the map and get you sweet exp. Air Strike isn't too helpful in this setup, so max Torpedo and figure out what to do from there. I do still use Air Strike sometimes when I'm waiting for spawn when I train with a 2hkoing Bishop, though, since they don't clear the third platform. None of my Bishop friends 1hko Skeles, but I imagine if they did I wouldn't use Air Strike except when my ship breaks. A lot of times I train with my Marksmen buddies, too. If you train with any non-mage, you can duo the map and take the top two platforms while they clear the bottom two. For this setup you only need 11 Torpedo and maxing Air Strike first is the best idea. This is basically just like training at Newties except the monsters are tougher - you freeze what you have to, 2hko Cannon everything, and Air Strike the top just before the next wave comes. It's really easy and I'm never overrun by spawn. When your ship breaks, it's easy enough to drop to the mini-platforms on each side and you can actually hit everything with Flamethrower/Ice Splitter. Holypie Wrote:is the (-X number) booster? because i thought booster was reducing your speed (as in normal, fast (4) etc) by 2?(-X) = how much faster the skill is than the Normal (6). Booster does indeed reduce the speed rating by 2. Ask a Pirate Thread - Cavalier - 2009-05-26 Holypie Wrote:is the (-X number) booster? because i thought booster was reducing your speed (as in normal, fast (4) etc) by 2?The number in parantheses (spelling) is the deviation of the casting time from the casting time with (6) Normal. Booster reduces the weapon speed by 2, so a (6) weapon with booster would be (4), so to find the casting speed for a (6) weapon with booster, you look at (4). edit:ninja'd. left thread open for a bit.
