Different forms helps keep the total number of pokemon down too, there are getting an awful lot now. This makes old ones more useful without adding to the total number.
Mega Heracross, Tyranitar and Gengar awwwwww yeah.
Blastoise for a Water/Steel type and Gyarados Water/Dragon?
But yeah perhaps a few of the more overlooked ones would have been a better choice.

And a headband, why not. So many weaknesses to that type pair, but would still be cool to see.
@above that's why you need to have more than on battle team, it's too bad the battle tower type areas make it hard for you to do that. Pokemon B/W made it easier by letting you have a battle box + your pt to choose from, but I wish they would just let you pick from any pokemon in your box or party when signing up for those things. If you want to use another team, you have to go and move them into your party, which gets annoying. It would be so much more satisfying to train multiple pokemon if you could pick 6 of any pokemon you own to fight with for each challenge, allowing you to use all the pokemon you own whenever w/o wasting a minute of your time.
I like battle frontier stuff a lot so this was one of the things I thought about a lot.

Whoo, haven't visited for a long time. How's everybody doing?
I have decided to let my cousin play X and I play Y. At first I wanted X, but my brother begged me to choose Y because of Oblivion Wing (Although we only played Black Ace, we recognize the move to look similar to Dread Joker's laser beams.) and because I liked Spritzee. A lot.

I like the Mega Evolution system. Although it does remind me of Digimon (in which the form is called "Mega" which is better than Ultimate), it makes good use of old Pokémon which weren't very usable (barring Mewtwo and SB Blaziken lol) and I think it's GF's way of incorporating 6th gen abilities onto previous gen Pokémon. In the demo, you also ride on a Skiddo in a route and seen riding a Rhyhorn. In it, you also battle Professor Sycamore, where you use Mega Evolution, and battle Shauna & the other character. Fennekin has the moves Psywave, Flame Charge, Fire Spin and Tail Whip.

Not sure about you guys, but the news of Pokemon: Origins, anime/special/movie that will followRed and Green and the exact storyline from the very first games has gotten me quite excited. Hopefully they will make ones of the subsequent games.

It seems Green will choose a Squirtle, and Red a Charmander.
I think it is worth noting this isn't a reboot. It's like a sidenote/story from the Ash Ketchump Immortal stories.
However, I hope that the popularity of Pokemon Origins will make Nintendo and GameFreak change their minds with the current Anime.
One can hope.
