Women fight in different ways, you can see it from middle school girls up through adults, women tend to play mind games or emotional games, girls in schools would tend to spread rumors and emotionally hurt another girl before they'll punch them. Same goes with women twords men, women can be controlling, put men down, keep them on a leash, take away privileges, hell they can emotionally wreck a guy, regardless of what any "macho" guy will say, they can.
Women abuse in a different way, physical abuse usually isnt their method, but they're just as abusive.
And mental abuse is not better than physical abuse, dont even go there, they're both terrible.

Like I was saying - When it's a threat to your life. You'd die of a stab to the heart or a gun to head by your wife before you'd defend yourself against just that? Silly.
EDIT: My girlfriend had this to say about hitting a woman when your life is in danger.

My dad and I have not said a word to her in the past 15 years, but she talks to us, giving us directions like we are somehow her family or connected to her. All my youth, until I grew to hate her, she "parented" me while my parents were at work, trying as hard as she could to make me into an pimento, (she failed.) She promised my parents help in getting an apartment when they first got married, (housing in the Soviet Union was very scarce,) but it was just a lie to get them in HER apartment. She sets the branches of my family against each other, playing a nasty kind of politics, because it brings her joy to see disharmony and hatred developing. She is a raging, screaming, evil b!tch. According to people like you, OP, it is okay for her to torment my immediate and extended family until God gives her fat ass a stroke or heart attack, but it is NOT okay for me to hit her even once for it. I have never in my life hit a woman, but in her case I've been sorely tempted. I am not a violent, nasty person, but this much hatred, this much abuse... yeah, I've been tempted.
There ARE times when even that is okay. Never speak in universals.

You'd think that most people can keep fantasy and reality apart, but there are people that don't. Columbine, Virginia Tech, and there was a college here in Illinois.
Granted, if you're doing that you were teetering on the edge of madness as it was, but it DOES happen sometimes. "Violent video games made me kill 10 people" is a $hitty attempt of an excuse and I laugh my ass off (while cringing) when I hear stuff like that. But some people argue that Street Fighter behavior should be street behavior without actually meaning to beat women or whatever, which in my personal opinion sets a bad precedent.
