Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - FrozNlite - 2013-01-08

I am disappoint it's not Pokemon Rainbow. I mean another new region with new Pokemon in a completely revamped 3D world is cool, but like holy pomegranate you wanna sell games, make one that travels to all the regions, and/or an MMO.

Polantaris Wrote:Two years really isn't that much for game development anymore. A lot of games are two year intervals. It just seems early because B/W2 was basically Grey, and they cheaped out to get double the money off of it. At least, that's how it felt.

Regardless, this is probably the first game that, if I get it, I'll be going Fire Starter. The Grass and Water ones look dumb as hell.

One of my major annoyances with the 3DS in general is that it's basically caused the abandonment of 2D sprites, which in my opinion are far superior to a lot of 3D graphics. For once, I'm happy that that statement is dead wrong, because the game doesn't look nearly as bad as I had anticipated. I was also happy to be wrong in the same regard for DQ7's remake on the 3DS, that game looks freaking amazing as well.

I just hope that developers can keep up that kind of quality, because there are a lot of past situations where I would have preferred sprites.

Also, I guess they ran out of colors and precious gems? Seems like they just said, "Fu'ck it, let's pick two letters. That's how they're going to be referred as anyway!"

I do agree with the part about 2D sprites. There's just something about the details that makes them look better but it seems that it's not true for this game at least. At any rate, nine months is a lot of time for me to think about whether I'll get the 3DS and I haven't played Pokemon in years, so why not.

the shot of the trainer in the mirror means creation options/customize chars....

RIGHT?

oh god i wish '^'

Please, let it be this.

This would create some very interesting balance - all three would have a secondary typing that gives them options vs their primary weakness.

Whoa, whoa, backtracking here. I would play the hell out of a good Pokemon MMO. The game itself is practically designed on battles versus other trainers so why not?

I'm in love with the new game. Can't wait to see ALL of my pokemon in those 3D sprites. October come sooner. Mad

I just got a 3DS thanks to a generous grandfather's Christmas gift money, so I'm set there. Just waiting for some games to be worthy of a purchase...like this and DQ73DS. Probably Animal Crossing too.

I honestly couldn't tell if the dark haired character was a guy or a girl. I know I saw a long brown haired girl later on. If they were both female, this would imply yes...but sometimes they give guys the weirdest haircuts in JRPGs so it could have easily been a guy too.

Razmos Wrote:Looks to me like Chespin used Night Slash. It was a slashing attack that looked dark anyway.
Fennekin looks like a potential psychic type. Will be interesting to see it's final evolution, some kind of floating mystical fire fox would be awesome. Not sure why this pokemon is getting so much love, it's design looks very basic to me..
Froakie looks like a Water/Ice, Water/Flying or Water/Ghost, judging by the cloudy bits around it's neck. Probably my favourite starter this generation, it's cute, and I've always liked the Frog pokemon.

i love the fire starter already BECAUSE it looks so simple, it reminds me of vulpix, and i'm not the only one it seems.

hyped again, sigh, however if he turns out to be half-fighting type, i'll bomb the freaking office.

I'm going to get Tales of the Abyss since I miss that game a lot now that my PS2's sold and DQ7 only sweetens that deal, plus I've checked that the 3DS isn't too pricey over where I live now. As for customizations, let's just hope it's not- a trap!

I could've sworn that was a guy.

Piggy 2.0 Wrote:B/W came out in 2011, yeah? Feels like a really short amount of time passed between Gens this time around. Either that or I have gained time traveling powers and didn't even know it.

Nevertheless, probably gonna buy it day one like normal.

Time difference between Red and Blue and Gold and Silver was 2 years.

Nothing new or different. They're keeping a similar pace.

And again it looks like I will be taking the Fire starter! pleasedon'tbefire/fighting pleasedon'tbefire/fighting pleasedon'tbefire/fighting pleasedon'tbefire/fighting pleasedon'tbefire/fighting *crosses fingers*

Was waiting to see if pikachu 3DS came out in U.S. I guess i have almost a year to see if it does. otherwise GENERIC COLOR HERE I COME!

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Razmos - 2013-01-08

Froakie was my favourite at first, but as i'm looking at Chespin more, it's growing on me quite a lot. It's a darned Hedgehog. a hedgehog pokemon! that's adorable.

Thinking it might be Grass/Ground due to the sharp claws on the feet, looks like it might be a digger.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Christopher - 2013-01-08

Look at that reskinned oshawott. Finally a 3d pokemon thats not that crappy gamecube XD game.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Hypermug - 2013-01-08

I haven't liked a water starter's design or used a water starter since Totodile, AND it seems this one might even have a decent speed stat as well...!? Needless to say, I am excited.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Locked - 2013-01-08

I haven't been excited for a Pokemon game in a while..

..However...

This is one of those things I've been waiting for since I was a little boy.
1) A full 3D pokemon game.
2) A revamped open-world, real-time battle system
3) A full pokemon MMO
4) A pokemon game past-Gold/Silver that allows us to go through all the regions

While the GameCube pokemon games were decent, they just didn't feel right so I'm welcoming this one with open arms.

I hope the other 3 things follow suit ;_;

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Punch - 2013-01-08

CRYING FROM EXCITEMENT.

The starters are adorable! The grass looks weird a bit, why is the chipmunk wearing grass clothes? The fox is perfect! And the frog is so cute!
The red legendary looks wicked, but I'm gonna pick Pokemon X, for the that stag. Gimmeh. Looks like a total ass kicker.

THE GRAPHICS ARE GREAT.
From the looks of it, the game world appears to be located in Europe. According to the player running/skating through Paris, and also that Old-English-looking bridge.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Corn - 2013-01-08

Where the hell are being getting the information that it goes through all the regions?

Corn Wrote:Where the hell are being getting the information that it goes through all the regions?

Locked was listing things he wanted to see in pokémon and even pointed out that only one of the 4 was being fulfilled. Not that it's actually running through all the regions.
Assuming that you were talking about that.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y - Eliseo - 2013-01-08

The two legendaries make etheir an X or a Y (I'll be getting the Y looking legendary, the one that was flying).

However I wonder how the 3rd game will be like. Z? Snake-like?
