Convince someone to play your class with two words - Kevo - 2012-12-31 ^Sorry clicked the pomegranate and I don't know how to get rid of it. Bishop<3 <3 <3 Best class! But yeah what the heck is a battle bishop? Doesn't Genesis have a cooldown these days? Are Shining Ray and Angel Ray viable for training and bossing? I was a blood Bishop to an extent since I was needed for boss runs and 1hko Skele parties. /oldschool Convince someone to play your class with two words - Maigun - 2012-12-31 Demonslayer: Demon. Convince someone to play your class with two words - Bahamut X - 2013-01-01 F/P: Hell's Torture. (So I manage to sneak a reference to my main F/P; and yes I will respond to Hell in Broa) On the other hand not many would recognize the old school solo training variant. Forty Seconds. Running off the old formula for poison damage. Fire/Poison of any level with maximum poison for a normal/weak resistance to poison usually lived for 40 seconds. Didn't matter if you were using Poison Breath/Brace or choking the map with mist. After forty seconds, most monsters were left with 1 hp at the end. I'm sure old timers would also recall another version for gMS only: Bigfoot Boomers. Original versions of those mobs were also used for the nasty little bit of trickery for a few quick levels. The former fell under the former with having been a little ugly with the nerfing of the original boss. The latter I would have made a reference for two of the early iterations of the monster with Toxic Tribbles. If you had seen any of the Star Trek series episodes revolving about the furballs, you'll recognize my little hint. There are a few bishops around (myself, ThatWasMyKil, EroticViet, HOLYPHOENlX, and others) that have dedicated ourselves to our bishops and continue to do so. I'm definitely not the godliest, and other classes can still beat me with their dpm, but it's fun to be hitting past max damage cap and people go "damn, you're mad strong for a bishop". Why thanks. I Like being different. I'm told the way to be strong is having lots of money these days and that's all you really need. I thought I was pretty strong back in my "prime" but Nexon said a big pineapple you to my hard work by releasing cubes and to a lesser extent, hammers. Potential seriously ruined MapleStory in my opinion. It made bosses a complete joke (and pretty much ruined my primary source of income since my guild monopolized HT for a while but that's a whole other story). I liked it when people still needed Bishops in their party. Oh well, at least I still have memories such as going totally emo from failing Gen 30, having crazy training sessions at Skeles (especially with Scania's first Level 200 Shadower!), and being in the first squad in Scania to ever beat Pink Bean! It seems like there's a level 200 every 30 mins now and it's not even remotely a big deal like it was when I played! I remember ThatWasMyKil. I don't remember him as a strong Bishop but good on him for improving himself. I remember those days as well, I was pretty noob as a bishop back then, but ran with WiiPimpin and GoldenHawk on their Pink Bean and Czak runs. As for being strong, yeah, money helps. I don't mind throwing some nx into the game here and there, although I'll admit I usually end up buying things other than cubes. I got compensated for being hacked awhile ago, and that compensation went to my cubing. Aside from that, my scrolling of gear is purely from merching in game and buying nx with meso; which I'm quite proud of. |
