The pros and cons of all classes. - Takebacker - 2012-01-23 Luxeraph Wrote:Huh? Wind pierce isn't perceived as useful because it's stronger than ultimate inferno. It's perceived as useful because of it's linear piercing hitbox rather than a trashy splash hitbox that more often than not hits less mobs because the mobs are too spread out. A problem that becomes even more so because bowmasters don't have a means to rush anything. The pros and cons of all classes. - Moonlapse - 2012-01-23 I remember hearing somewhere that buccs were mid to low tier on DPS. When I last looked at JoeTang's post-justice charts I remember being not that impressed. The pros and cons of all classes. - LiquidSwing - 2012-01-23 One thing I will suggest, try rating each classes survivability and damage using a rating system that acts like tiers. Like using stars to rate how good they are at doing something, 5/5 stars being highest tier of DPS, 3/5 being mid, 1/5 being lowest, etc. I mention that because seeing "excellent damage" or something doesn't tell me much. They might put out "excellent damage" in someone's opinion, but a class might get absolutely demolished by a mercedes or something. So you can skip through most stuff quickly if you look for a good mobility class. Or a good 1 vs 1 damage dealer. Can a few others discuss about this and seeing if I should add 5 different traits like the 3 I mentioned already, and add at least two more so i'll have 5 traits for every class. The pros and cons of all classes. - IImaplers - 2012-01-24 Some FP stuff needs a bit of tweaking. Also, if you want to rate survivability at bosses, we might have to rate it by each individual boss: Reg Zakum: A+ survivability because of no dispels and MG available 100% of the time. Chaos Zakum: rated C, because of seduce (although sed rarely happens if your expedition knows what its doing), 1/1, dispel. Horntail (I actually have more experience at Pink Bean then HT but I'll give it a go -correct me if I'm wrong-): rated C+, because of sed/dispel/1-1 Chaos Horntail: F is my guess since I never tried it, but idk Pink Bean: D, impossible to solo/duo. Requires 4+ warriors in your party for even a chance. I'll try narrowing them down.
-> Survivability would be high HP, high defenses, skill able to regenerate HP, barriers, iFrames, resurrection skills(?): this is basically support buffs as well then? -> Mobility for transportation with mounts, actual speed and jump stats, skills affecting these, movement skills, gliding(?) This could fit into Survivability for evasion of attacks. -> 1v1 and mobbing are separate for obvious reasons. -> Funding effectiveness could be hard or easy to fund, how much classes benefit from funding, prices of the gear (LUK is most expensive, whereas INT is least. Possible to fluctuate greatly given the revamps). Are these fine to everybody else? Anything I missed? That looks fine to me, I suggest you change "1v1" to "bossing" so as not to confuse some people. I was about to suggest that haha you beat me to it. Anyway, i´ll see what I can do. Especially in Aswan, where they're boss mobs (I think), they have high defense (guard crush gives me a huge advantage), they're always in groups of 8-10, and it only takes 3 DS casts to charge energy. So in high-def high-mobcount situations, we are probably #1 honestly. In terms of bossing I think we're just a few from the top from what I've seen. Because being funded has nothing to do with it. Truth is, he's more funded than a large majority of the English speakers in here because he has seniority. Compare Steve's funding to a different Korean buccaneer and you have a different story. Or a strong Korean buccaneer to a different strong class. Or a strong Korean buccaneer to a different strong class. He has less than 50% STR and a 117 attack knuckle. More funded than most english speakers? Absolutely. Funded? Absolutely not. My point was that if this is all it takes to feel strong compared to other players, then the class must not be as bad as the percents list them as. I dunno. Maybe steve just has a bad perception of comparing other classes based on the numbers he sees, or maybe he just doesn't know and has confidence that buccs are strong now. I mean it's not like he sees numbers in aswan that aren't his. The pros and cons of all classes. - Loose - 2012-01-24 Jerry-Boyle Wrote:So 5 traits to rate for each class?Party support? I'm sure you do fine in terms of mobbing anyway, not like I was denying it. I just feel as though other classes can do it better. Is the fact that he isn't as funded as korean buccs not true? Is the fact that he's more funded than english buccs not true? If so then my conclusion was correct. >_> I know you're trying to say i'm comparing them in terms of GMS. Or even myself. The pros and cons of all classes. - LiquidSwing - 2012-01-24 Im going to suggest that all ratings assigned to a class are judged based on equal funding between all classes. Everyone is aware that a godly geared whatever will out damage an unfunded equivalent, or different class. The only way to have a good comparison is to put both classes in equal gear.
