CrazyForDex Wrote:there is more to do after 200.

Not really. After hitting 200, all it ends up being is another grind in a different form. You grinded to the level cap, now have fun grinding to max professions, grinding to max traits, and grinding in PvP. Nevermind the fact that even grinding for more money / better gear only ends up looping itself indefinitely, because there's no such thing as "Min-Maxing" in this type of game as there's a constant stream of better gear.
I've said this for years now, the entire game is all about grinding, there's nothing more or less. The rest of this "extra content post 200" is just grinding behind a different mask.

other mmos have what?

the only mmo i've ever played to offer something asides from grinding was Cabal with Nation Wars.
and that's just MASS pvp. it's pretty fun, but you're too insignificant as a single player to make a differance and no one listens to orders even if you're a commander.

gimme a break every MMO is grind.

I play MS because it's an online equivilant to FF Tactics or Odin Sphere.

I love side scrollers and I love custimization. I love real time battle systems.
MS has all these things with beautyfull graphics.

I chose classes based on their skills graphics and their equips.

the town they start in is my home with that char.

I'm playing KMS atm and in love with the mercedes class. their town is awesome , finaly a bowman with pretty skills.
they got some pretty weps * hello 7x dualBgun * and they're really mobile. makes me feel like i'm playing a mix of MegaMan Zero and DFO.

grinding isn't everything.

on my battlemage i'm 151 because I'm spending time doing so many fun things.
Von Leon , HT , CZAK , ZAK , PAP * I LOVE BOSSES * , KREXEL , Getting my proffesion up, Chillin in Neo City <3.
Finding new players in lith harbor that joined for the first time and helping them out if they're kind, Completing Quests.
PQing (I'm fond of DRPQ ) , getting reverse sets for my characters for the look.

I got so many things to preoccupy myself with in ms, if I wanted to I could easily be 180 by now but I don't really care too much for it. I only have one equip left to get and I'm done as far as I'm concerned , that 1 equip being a 16x staff.

I'd love to PVP but I can only do so around 6-8 AM without insta lag dcing.

I only need enter FM for ores,10 atk wgs for NX.

and NX is fun to use when it lasts longer then 1 click *looks at cubes, gacha,SoK,etc*

I can get a pet, no not to auto pot me and loot, but to have a companion. My BaM gets a Jr.Reaper soon to be named Tyler Durden and my DK has a pig called Lucifer, my Shad has a robo ape called Odin. they make the game fun.

having my char look good is fun to me.

also, KSing and Trolling in game is lotsa fun.
going around to LHC with 10 friends and just ksing the crap out of elitist pricks who think they own the game.

Trolling alliance members about legitamcy in ms and watching them get flustered as I advertise wanting to dupe my items.

as I recall very few games have alot to do. it is your imagination that makes them so.

Heck most games the gameplay is pretty cut and dry, great gameplay games like Soul Revear and Legend Of Zelda are far and few inbetween and good luck finding that in an MMO.

Aion had alittle of this and a TON of grind. WoW's graphics are just too ugly for me so IDK , but I just can't have my character looking like a blochy purple johhny bravo.

.... i'll stop here i'm rambling.

I was not implying that anyone had said that there should be another point to this game, I was simply stating the question. Btw, when you play a game so much that it gets old, it's time for a new game. If I had just eaten vanilla ice cream for 6 years, tomorrow when I wake up, I might consider trying chocolate.

I never said Maple was unoriginal, nor other MMOs were unique compared to Maple. I'm saying that people believe there's DIFFERENT stuff to do at 200 in Maple, when it's the same pomegranate as before just masked behind a different name. Nothing changed from pre-BB and now except for more grinding, which, as you said, is the same concept behind every other MMO, but people seem to believe that Maple differs from the rest of the pack.

Also lol @ implying Maple has the same strategy basis as FFT or other grid based RPGs.

Eos Wrote:All of which go towards maxing the amount of mesos you can get, which are already too easily maxed, or towards again raising stats.
it's all stat whoring.
You can solo virtually any boss in the game.
Friends have been made absolutely meaningless, they're all pursuing their own objectives and have little to no need to interact except to do things like LHC, which is just more endless grinding and not chit chat.

You're enjoying the game, good for you. Enjoy it while you can. It's not made to last.

If that's how you feel about the friend's you've made online, then that's your problem. The friends I've made online I do care about and I do do things with them, quite often actually.

As long as there's new content to explore, I will enjoy it.

Like what? Boss? lol He's not complaining about his friendships, rather the games purpose of even having one. In fact your "friends" shouldn't even have your personal information, including your name.

only 5 people in the game know my name, to everyone else on the internet, i am shinku.

Wow. That's actually really surprising to me that there are people so private.

Turtally Wrote:Wow. That's actually really surprising to me that there are people so private.

gets easier with time, i am so used to being called shinku, it's something that you could scream on the street and i'd turn if i were nearby. but for example, i barely/rarely mention my equips, my range is completely unknown in any and all the forums (except that time i did the attk vs damage thinguie).

best way to be safe is for people to not know you, the less everyone knows, the better, some go a bit farther than others though (ex:pikachu).

i am just... very untrusty, and take the high road to show people that trusting easily usually gets you in trouble.

there's at least 100 people in Galicia that know my name, probably more. It's not like they can get into your bank account with just your first name...

Decent Skill Glitching is Back - octopusprime - 2011-07-26

ITT: People think that telling others doing anything you don't enjoy for the sake of it is a grind is enlightening.

Brb, doing this.

Nobody in the MS community, and I mean nobody, knows my real name. I've met XL irl and even he doesn't know.

i've been able to find people on facebook just by hearing their chats, it might not give them my bank account, but the less people know, the less they can figure out.

@stereo: did you wear the crazy hat and the turtleneck to the bromance Date sandwich? but yup, stereo has the right idea xD and the only ones who know my name are people that i can trust, which honestly, it's NOT easy to achieve, at least to that degree, ex: my guild leader knew my name after don't know how many years of me being in that guild

Ikr. I have a dozen old guildies and maple friends listed in my facebook account, and it's not some bs maplestory-only account. I've met a bunch of old school maplers irl, and even married a girl I met in maple almost six years ago. And to make some people's blood boil even more, I just last week borrowed money from a friend on the other side of the world. Well kinda, asked her to buy me a NX card and I paid her back via paypal.
I guess I'm just naive, or people can't tell the difference between friends and just maple buddies.

Edit: And not to go too off-topic, I wouldn't mind getting decent HB for my DB. In Khaini. winkwink

i've done the last (except the paypal, don't use that for maple) guess what, person is one of the few who know my actual name, as i said, it takes a lot to earn my trust~ or rather, it's easy to earn it, so i make it harder myself, hey, my way and your way. gratz on the marriage tho.

I can understand keeping address, phone number, etc. private, but name.. whatever.
I have quite a few friends from maple added on my facebook, but I don't have any of my information on there listed. Just a few photos and my first and last name, big deal.

My RL son and two nephews play, so I can't quite say that, but nobody uses my real name in maple, even in whispers.

The reason I don't give out my real name even to people I trust is that a single slip of the keyboard ("w/c") would make it public knowledge in the entire server. If you don't know it, you can't give it away.

That's quite enough for anyone to find you, if they really want to. Especially if your maple friends know your age, or what state you're from.

Decent Skill Glitching is Back - EndlessAxis - 2011-07-26

LOL , I give my name, city , age , school , fb to friends in MS. skype too.
I'm not paranoid that someones gonna do something. because LOL. you're silly.
