Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - Herborist - 2010-12-05 All I'm saying is, what the hell are we all doing up at 4 am? Jamie_Kurosawa Wrote:It means that regardless of how far people will get into something, they still complain like no tomorrow that someone else beat them and got ahead in less time with equal or less resources and that it's not fair they aren't in 1st place instead of the other person and that they have to be compensated even if the compensation ruins the game, destroys competition, or devalues the actually goal, just as long as they can be first. Here's the thing: I read the first part of that and I think, "they're agreeing with me and they've just been demonstrating what someone who doesn't agree with me would say and that's why I thought we were arguing." Then I read the second part and think, "Why are they talking about ruining the game and things becoming less valuable? It's just levels and they keep glazing over the many posts I've said this in." *falls into the bed behind him and dreams of making a new character and reaching paladin status* Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - Jamie_Kurosawa - 2010-12-05 I have insomnia... You won't out House me. Now get the pineapple out of my way, I'm getting an orange soda, watching Whose Line, and going to sleep. *swats you across the face with my cane* Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - Jamie_Kurosawa - 2010-12-05 I'll argue House-based logic after being up for 72 hours with the inability to sleep later until about hour 76 when I do a full crash for 18 hours of sleep. By that time I'll be really berserk and maniacal from reading Wikipedia for hours on end. Until then, I ask this question: If a goal is too easy and achieving it only leads to unhappiness, while a goal that is difficult and causes you to struggle causes great happiness when achieved, which was truly the better goal for the mind, body, and spirit, each separately, and also as a whole? The easy path, of course, as House thrives off unhappiness. It may seem too easy for you, but many people don't agree. We don't all believe that it's "too easy" and "leads to unhappiness." In fact, because of BB, I'll be able to switch to my best friend's server and play with him - something I have done in almost 6 years. I'll be able to get to paladin status, something I've been coveting for a long time. I got to the 160's with the old method, and I didn't use 2x cards or family rep. Am I happy? Do I feel like I've achieved anything? No, I'm just bored of the game and looking for something more fun to do. With BB, I can just make a new character and experience the fun all over again. Secun Wrote:If you're taking the House approach, you should know the answer. House doesn't thrive off of unhappiness, House is afraid of being happy because it's a foreign thing to him after being in so much pain and agony because of his leg. He's a decent human being who can be a superficial jerk at times because he's bitter. Look at his decisions instead of his words: he does everything for his patient, even if he hates them; he even puts his job in jeopardy to save some random guy off the street. Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - t3hPuppeteer - 2010-12-05 Slowly moving my characters to towns - I'll have to screenshot my skills though or write them down, especially my higher level characters. My low level characters, I don't mind as much. I have most of my mesos on one account. Is it better to disperse it to other accounts or just keep it where it is? :| Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - Jamie_Kurosawa - 2010-12-05 Herborist Wrote:You're turning a subjective question into an objective one. Why not ask for more content such as a new area that's more geared for your level, some extra ways to stack 2x methods, more repeatable quests that yield high levels of EXP, etc. Heck I sent in a feature request to Nexon for adding a mini-dungeon featuring Afterlord Type As in Neo-City. And as for House's possible answer: The easy path is too easy. Why else would it be easy? It's the wrong answer. The hard way is wrong too. It's hard because it takes the backwards approach to reasoning and logic which makes no sense. The correct answer is the path off to the side which nobody cared to or thought to look for and was too careless to realize that was even there to begin with. However it's not a question for House I'm asking. I'm asking the player. Which makes you feel better when you do it? Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - KaosStorm - 2010-12-05 Wow, talk about topic derailment... Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - Jamie_Kurosawa - 2010-12-05 Topic isn't derailed. It's about contingency even at the most basic level. As stated, no real plan needs to be made. If you need one, just make a new character on a separate account and play it in case after BB everything goes wrong for old characters. Nothing else really needs to be done. Topics like this can induce panic which is not needed. At best all you need to survive post-BB just in case is a secondary e-mail which most people should have by now. Then there's the question: which is the safer place for your mesos and items; storage npc or character inventory? Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - donovan - 2010-12-05 I don't think there is going to be server wipe... Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - Kitty - 2010-12-05 server wipe would be sexellent. So much raging would happen. Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - Sarah - 2010-12-05 Just a thought... If you have anything of value in the MTS, you should move it out. We have no idea how the MTS will react with all of this changed information and while there's a good chance nothing will happen, it would be a real shame to lose all of your money makers because of some random unforeseeable issue. The game needs to be less grind, and it will be. End of story. Anyone who says anything else is butthurt. The game needs to be less grind, and it will be. End of story. Anyone who says anything else is butthurt. Actually, I did the math, and it looks like the game will be more grind for me. Right now I need to kill 82k COGs to level. After BB I will only need to kill 51k of them. Less grind? No. Because right now I train on family 2x (I have enough rep mules so I never have to train on 1x), so I only need to kill 41k. Also, the current COGs have 141k HP and I 2-hit them. Post BB COGs have 390k HP and it remains to be seen whether I can still 2-hit or will slow down to 3 hits or more. Finally, right now I have the alternative of hunting bigfoot to level, faster than grinding at COGs, if I can catch the the bigfeet before other hunters do. As of the latest Tespia patch, that option is no longer available. The only way for me to level is to grind. It might get better when Lionheart Castle is released. But until then, BB is going to require me to grind more to level. That's not me being butthurt, that's a fact. So instead of pretty much unlimited 2x I now get 45 minutes of 1.2x a day. That's the same as nothing at all. I'm sorry, I'm just not interested in the plight of someone who's Lv. 180. The game has gotten so monumentally easier for everyone 1 - 120 that it outweighs all of your problems. You're 180, you surrendered the right to whine about grinding about 50 levels ago. I'm sorry you're going to have issues abusing every exploit in the game (no, I'm not). Preparing a disaster kit and time capsule - SaptaZapta - 2010-12-05 Where did you see me complain? You said "The game needs to be less grind, and it will be." But no, it won't. Total grind required 1-200 is not lessened. |
