JoeTang Wrote:That's what Stereo was talking about. You think that 999 monsters in Time Temple would have a larger yield than 30 levels on Skeles?

When you have to kill over 10k monsters, along with all the high levels killing them, along with WAY higher drop rate, yes, i do.

Kabanaw Wrote:Droprates for dragon scales and spirits are low. Like, really low. Like, lower than chaos scroll low. Time Ores have a much higher drop rate.

i've spent 50 levels at newts, 10 at skeles, and 4 at Guards of Oblivion (fire 3 map).

Dragon scales: 2
Dragon spirits: 0
Pieces of time: 61

all of this on 1x drop. the piece of time droprate totally kicks the dragon stuff's tushy.

But were your 50 levels at newts & 10 at skeles before or after we got the KMS drop tables?

An undiscussed topic about Maker - Icedfire - 2009-07-19

when was the kms drop table change? bear with me, i dont exactly pay attention to these things...

never mind about the reverse req's for forging. didn't realize eos updated his thread to include them.

newts was from leafre release to the next year's march. cg for a few months... skele from sept to may. oblivion guards for the past two weeks.

I've spent almost 20 levels at Skeles after the KMS drop tables, and I got one Dragon Scale. And I think it was actually my party member's drop. Tongue

I've spent 50 levels at skeles and newties and I nor anyone I was partied with has ever found a Dragon spirit OR scale

That's nice.
I spent 120 levels killings the mobs that drop them and got two, prior to the KMS drop tables.

Since the KMS drop tables I've spent less than 30 hours there and gotten 4.

An undiscussed topic about Maker - madanthony - 2009-07-19

I got them every so often at Manon and Griffey back when I hunted them. About 1/100 or so on double drop most of the time.

How'd I miss this topic back when it was made @_@
A serious wrench has been thrown in my plans. Gonna have to lay off the 30%s I wanted to use.

Which is still terrible and useless, given you can get 1 or more time pieces per hour.Heart

I thought something was up. Before Time Temple, when I would solo Peak for exp, I found three Dragon Scales and two Dragon Spirits in the span of two days. Before that I only found one from 121-late 16x.

It's terrible and useless anyway - since we got Time Temple before we got maker who's going to want the 110 gear anyway when they go straight for the much more powerful and impressive Reverse gear?

So if i appraise a diamond and it's low quality I can upgrade it to high quality?

Just keep in mind you can only upgrade low to mid, and mid to high, and that it takes 10 of each to get there. It's more expensive than it's worth generally.

But what if i just have like dozens and dozens of low grade diamonds?

An undiscussed topic about Maker - Stereo - 2009-07-19

It takes about 10.6 low grade diamonds to make a mid-grade, and about 12 mid grade to make a high grade. So about 127 low grade per high grade, if you do it that way.

If you just refine, you get a 1 in 20 chance of high-grade, so it's better by 6-fold.

This implies that low-grade would be worth 1/6 as much as ungraded diamonds, if the market is anywhere near sensible, and if they're worth more you should just sell them and buy ungraded.

Look at the cost of converting low to mid then mid to high in the simulations I ran:

http://www.southperry.net/forums/showpost.php?p=207346&postcount=27

It costs significantly more mesos for significantly less high grade.

Just looking at scenario one - 3403 low grades transitiioned to a mere 84 high grades whereas in the initial appraisal process 4377 became 169 ( %2 vs %4 ) and that was with 800 additional mediums to help out and cost 400m to do. Not to mention the degree of time it would've required.

As Stereo said - Unless the market cost for lows tends to be drastically lower than for highs it's actually more effective to just sell your lows to afford purchasing highs.

An undiscussed topic about Maker - Cyanne - 2009-07-19

Low-grade anythings other than stat crystals are going to be pretty much worthless and tossable.

So you're saying this is pretty much worthless unless i just have an ass-load of low and mid grade diamonds...

If your goal is to get maximum amount of high grade without buying them from someone else, you might successfully convert a billion low grades to a few thousand high grade for less than purchase price, but if your goal is to turn low grade to profit, you may as well just toss them.

Is your signature supposed to say "constantly" where it says "contently"? Or was that supposed to be "contendedly"? :f6:

It's suppose to be a trap...
