Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - JoeTang - 2014-07-03 Dark Link Wrote:Dem crazy Koreans. http://www.diablofans.com/news/48130-explosive-palm-furnace-and-rimeheart-greater-rifts Don't worry, this bug will be fixed and Exploding Palm is being nerfed. I really hope they touch up the spenders because they're really shitty. There are five offensive spenders: Lashing Tail Kick, Wave of Light, Cyclone Strike, Tempest Rush, and Exploding Palm, which is more used for a debuff to kill everything with its explosion. Lashing Tail Kick is the cheapest and does the most damage. Wave of Light is the most expensive because it's AOE, except it basically does the same damage as Lashing Tail Kick for 2.5x the cost. Cyclone Strike does pineapple all for damage. My Monk has 900k sheet and other classes with sub500k are competitive because I use Cyclone Strike and Crippling Wave. 1/3rd of my base resource pool to deal less damage than any other classes weakest spender, just because it can pull. Tempest Rush is a movement skill. Quote:I don't think our philosophy quite matched up with the actual changes that took place. Channeling spells, as the name implies, should be most effective when time is spent channeling them for a few seconds. >we want channeling spells to be more rewarding if you channel them longer >let's make it impossible to channel it for long periods of time Thank God they're changing it. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Dark Link - 2014-07-04 Crisis adverted and I get to stay Arcane. Happy days! Also the change will encourage people to use the Unwavering Will passive. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Phoenix Wright - 2014-07-04 I like that change. I already use Unwavering Will as it is. Let's hope the new numbers on the channeling skills aren't terrible. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - JoeTang - 2014-07-07 Did a couple of runs with a friend in T5 with dual Marauder's. Pretty OP. Shidoshi joined for a bit with broken WD pets too. Looking forward to being able to run Impale in my rotation. Right now, it's technically still stronger on a single target to run CA+MS+Impale even though there's some loss in speed since Impale makes up for that with stupid amounts of damage, but it'll be nice to be that much faster with it. Considering dumping my shards into getting Helltooth for my WD so I can try 0cd Zombie Wall... Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Shidoshi - 2014-07-07 JoeTang Wrote:Considering dumping my shards into getting Helltooth for my WD so I can try 0cd Zombie Wall... Does it have any potential at all to be good? Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - JoeTang - 2014-07-07 Shidoshi Wrote:Does it have any potential at all to be good? It might be okay for mid-Torments but it relies on two pieces of Legacy gear. I have a Stone of Jordan and Uhkapian Serpent with -3 each, and the 4pc's -2 make it 0cd. It would be a free 1400% spell (over 4 seconds) at that point with choice of rune. They prevent monsters from walking through them, but pets can attack past it. You can have permanent Taunt, summon 25% weapon damage minions (these are pets???), or knockback (which is probably not good if there is limited range for the 6pc). If it got boosted by Tasker and Theo, that'd be pretty intense, but I doubt they're considered pets. I can loan you the pieces to try out if you want since you have Tasker to test too. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Shidoshi - 2014-07-07 I don't have Tasker's yet. Dunno how it would work with zero cooldown, but it could be limited by your attack speed. It might still be worth a shot though. I guess we could try it out, I have 5 pieces + RoRG if you're willing to lend me the pieces for me to try it before you decide to go through with it. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - JoeTang - 2014-07-07 Shidoshi Wrote:I don't have Tasker's yet. D'oh. I have enough other legacy gear to get it to 0 cd myself, but since I don't have that enormous 300%/s from 6pc, it doesn't do anything useful. Just clutters the screen with a stupid amount of zombies grasping at ankles for no damage at all. For an 8s cd skill, this is pretty shitty. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - JoeTang - 2014-07-09 PTR Patch came through today. Slight nerfs to initial damage on channels with a big buff to final damage. It should be something like 3~4 seconds before you're even compared to damage pre-patch, and then stronger after that. Conflagration and Exploding Palm both got the nerf bats. Conflagration's effect was basically moved to Firebird's which is a pretty big slap in the face honestly. "We've fixed Firebirds by deleting the most popular build and putting a nerfed version here." Exploding Palm definitely takes a hit for high difficulties. Might still have some use in moderate difficulties, but pretty useless when dealing 2770% shaves like .1s off the kill time of anything. Tempest Rush change is interesting. Flurry gains a stack every 10 spirit I think. I have 250 and my full pool gives me about 26 because of regen. It snapshots with Deadly Reach - Strike From Beyond, meaning you can have a bug reduction bonus on it when you're generating, combined with a decent Daibo, and you'll be able to spend for longer. Probably needs a similar effect for every other rune though because they're really bad. I might try a Daibo build if I ever find a decent Flying Dragon. My current one has the worst damage roll but it looks pretty cool. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Dark Link - 2014-07-09 Did Conflag really get nerfed? It seems like it got buffed. Went from 55% damage to 130% and now stacks up to 3 times, while still retaining its "Refresh all stacks" portion. Also the channeling changes are still pretty big nerfs :| http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/2aa1lr/new_wizard_channeling_damage_you_need_to_channel/ Basically you need to channel for the full 5 seconds to deal the same damage as currently on live and you need to channel for an additional 5 seconds for it to be a 30% buff. Rerolling fire still on the table now due to this change. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Arcana27961 - 2014-07-09 Arcana27961 Wrote:All I can say to Blizzard is (RuPaul voice) "Good luck, and DON'T pineapple it up." I'm sorry Blizzard. Now sashay away... I mean they even made Depth Diggers' bonus damage affect every class but Wizards and WDs. Why? Channeling spells are worthless. Yay. At least the Firebird set looks good now but Blizzard will nerf that since they don't want Wizard to be good at anything. Dark Link Wrote:Did Conflag really get nerfed? It seems like it got buffed. Went from 55% damage to 130% and now stacks up to 3 times, while still retaining its "Refresh all stacks" portion. The DoT from Conflagration stacks up to 3 times now. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Dark Link - 2014-07-09 Arcana27961 Wrote:I mean they even made Depth Diggers' bonus damage affect every class but Wizards and WDs. Why? Because last we need is for there to be only 1 viable Wizard build in the game lol. Arcana27961 Wrote:The DoT from Conflagration stacks up to 3 times now. And that's bad how? The change makes it so the 3 stacks is equivalent to 9ish [live] stacks. All the change really does is hurt / nerf PURE MM/Conflag builds, but every other MM / Conflag build got buffed in the process, especially with the Firebird 6pc change. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - JoeTang - 2014-07-09 Dark Link Wrote:Did Conflag really get nerfed? It seems like it got buffed. Went from 55% damage to 130% and now stacks up to 3 times, while still retaining its "Refresh all stacks" portion. Conflagration can stack an infinite number of times, with each attack refreshing any current stacks. Now, you're limited to 3 stacks, which is 390%/s, the equivalent to 7 stacks pre-patch. The cap of 3 and refresh really goes towards +2 Mirror Balls since they never need that refresh effect since they're always at max stacks if they don't. At the very least, Firebirds is strong for shorter fights since you can build up to it quickly with spenders. You needed 18 attacks with Conflagration + Mirror Ball to get to 3000%/s, but you could at least go over that too. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Tikey - 2014-07-10 There's an unintended interaction right now between Firebyrds and Conflag where they infinitely refresh each other. Funny, but I doubt it'll make it to live. Funny, but I doubt it'll make it to live. Yeah it's pretty hilarious since the new 6pc says they burn indefinitely until death, you can just leave them and go do other things. http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/2aabbz/ptr_firebird_6pc_mm_conflag_creates_infinite/ Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - TugboatWilly - 2014-07-10 If it did somehow make it to live then I'm glad I have 6 piece Firebyrds waiting in stash.
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - IllegallySane - 2014-07-11 How long until the patch hits live? I'm really itching to do solo rifts, and get a chance to strike it big in the Treasure Realm. I wouldn't expect it to be out earlier than the end of August. I wouldn't expect it to be out earlier than the end of August. Booo. Guess I'm stuck leveling alts until then. That and farming caches. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - JoeTang - 2014-07-13 ![]() Bugged item. Rolled 1 less Primary and doesn't have a name yet. Did a few Greater Rifts and they seem to drop a Legendary Gem every time right now. Not sure how much that needs to be nerfed since the primary goal will be to get to GR30+ and fail to have a chance to upgrade it. They're free to unsocket too, but apparently there's a bug that causes its rank to reset when you do. ![]() Got myself a Taeguk and gave it a shot with my M6 using Twin Chakram to keep it active. I assume it gains 1 stack per level for +60% Damage at Rank 50. It's a bit slow to get going and pacing can be poor since you have to stop and attack every 3 seconds to keep it up. It would work better with a 1H Crossbow though since your downtime is less and you can take more advantage of Chakrams and Multishot coming out more often It doesn't work with that Quiver or Kridershot though since they turn into Generators and it actually looks for resource spending. Might be an okay option but basically unuseable for anyone with Hexing Pants. Enforcer works with Sentries, so that's probably going to be the way to go. Bane of the Trapped would be good with Polar Station and Cold M6. Bane of the Powerful would need quite a few Ranks on it to be that great since 20s is really short. Zei's Stone of Vengeance is the only other thing that would work for DPS. Every other proc can't activate off a Sentry attack. In other news, there's an exploit where WD pets dying contributes to GR clearing, and Zei's Stone of Vengeance causes you do oneshot them if you put a DOT on them and return to town. There's also a bug where Mirinae, Teardrop of the Starweaver has a 100% chance to smite based on proc rate, so Fists of Fury shreds everything. It also procs off Life Link for some reason and oneshots those elites. This has since been fixed, but damn that would have been fun to run with for a while. |
