For the first time in the Smash series, Beam Swords will feature graduated colors. The attack item on the left is the Fire Bar. This is a peculiar weapon that becomes shorter after each swing. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Evolite - 2014-04-21 I love the way Link dual wields. They should make dual wield a thing for Link in a Zelda game. Super Smash Bros. Wait, is this the first time Link has dual-wielded weapons in Smash? (I rarely use him). I wonder if he only does that in his attacking animation, and if it affects his shield blocking at all. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Takebacker - 2014-04-21 He might not have had that stance, though. Super Smash Bros. The stage loops on the left and right sides so you can walk off one side and appear on the other. Super Smash Bros. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Polantaris - 2014-04-22 That actually sounds like a pretty fun level...too bad it will have the same problem the Metal Gear level did in Brawl, the one with the walls. What? Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Frostilyte - 2014-04-22 So the only way to ko is to launch people upwards off the screen? God damn! Why is the fish there! I always hated that stupid thing!

I'm guessing if you hit them hard enough and they are going fast enough they will still get K.Oed. Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Polantaris - 2014-04-22 Takebacker Wrote:What? When the walls were up, there were very few KO's, at least in my experience, because of how launching tends to send you horizontally more than vertically (with the exception of some smashes, for the most part). Most of the match was spent ricocheting between the walls until they crumbled. The difference here is that they won't ever crumble, because they're not walls anymore. However, now that I look at the map more closely, I bet you can die through the water too, so it's better off in that regard. Super Smash Bros. First of all, did you miss the part where he said the walls aren't walk offs? You appear on the other side. Walls, lack of walls, and the logistics of a walk off stage vs a non-walk off stage, don't matter. Second of all, there really don't seem to be that many new characters with an extremely strong ability to kill off the top. The only clear example i have seen so far of an attack that kills off the top is little mac's up smash, which being an attack that arcs around his entire body, is nowhere near as good as fox's extremely efficient up-smash for example. Megaman's up-air and up-smash, while possibly killing off the top, seems gimicky and/or unreliable and most likely has other purposes. Rosalina, wii fit trainer, and greninja, have more combo oriented upwards attacks, and all of the already known cast for the most part, outside fox and luigi, historically have few off the top killing options. Some characters (PIKACHU) now actually have FEWER killing options with his new thunder being a spike now instead of being a combo finisher that kills off the top. I don't think surviving on this kind of stage will be as hard as you imagine it. Super Smash Bros. But those platforms absolutely crush any benefit of using thunder at all. You would have to be high enough for the spike to hit you (i believe it's only near the top of the thunder that spikes), as well as be between the platforms, AS WELL AS DI into the water and not be in the way of platforms AND not tech/miss your tech (if applicable), and if any of those things happen at the same time you're either doing it terribly wrong, or thunder is OP as f'uck. And yes, i'm sure the water does kill you as it has pretty much always done outside of brawl where being in the water was essentially the same as death anyway. I think i saw this stage in the smash bros direct but i'm not sure. |
