Oh man this episode has everything I need for a Pinkie Pie episode. Very... cartoonish and totally wacky with her clever 4th wall antics. I like how they use continuity here, Baby Cakes, seeing Rainbow Dash reading a book, I don't really see that much in any other episode. I enjoyed the Smile song and all the other ones.

Did I just hear Pinkie said "Roseluck"? Isn't that a fan name? If so, that's the second time they introduced fanon into the show. Not that I have any problem with that. "Extra special friend". Hmm... nah, I'm not gonna bother with that quote. I don't know what's up with Pinkie being too invasive with Cranky's stuff and end up destroying everything. I could understand what he's going through, Pinkie really needs to leave him alone, but of course Pinkie just won't listen. I'm not completely satisfied with the ending. I don't know why. He accepts Pinkie's apology that easily because Pinkie found his "special" friend, after all the crap he went through?

Still, is this an awesome episode? Check.

Finally, I've been waiting for the episode that Pinkie would sing Smile in! It's definitely my favorite song of S2 so far. The episode Itself was awesome too, dat Pinkie Rocket

-That song. Soooo glad I never heard the leak to it. All I knew was the title of the song. Was glad I didn't spoil myself. Although a bit sad I caught the middle of the song when I caught the stream. This song is Winter Wrap-Up tier. SO INFECTIOUSLY GOOD TO LISTEN TO. *insert Dashie face*
-Cranky... Doodle... Donkey? DOHOHO that pun!
-So. Many. Songs. But Smile was definitely Celestia tier for this episode, and possibly for the season.
-PINKIE. STOP BREAKING THE 4TH WALL. DAT FELT GREEN ARROW.
-At first I was very amused with Pinkie trying to befriend Cranky, but then couldn't help but cringe at her pointing out to everypony that he's bald. BUT then bringing him to the spa and giving him a swagging new wig? Made up for it.
-THEN I cringed again when she destroyed his scrapbook. I thought that was it for Pinkie.
-Four evers? That's like... FOREVER!
-Oh ma god, Rainbow Dash is READING; CONTINUITY. Also, NEEEEEERD! ./joking
-lol at Twilight face desking
-Then I was laughing as Pinkie Pie appeared EVERYWHERE to apologize. Even inside a brick wall. The ultimate stalker Pinkie is.
-It was so heartwarming as to see Cranky getting what he longed for after all those years of searching.
-Pinkie Pie... where did you pull 2 other hooves from?
-PINKIE PIE ROCKET.
-Pinkie is now both of their best friend, albeit probably a bit annoying.


Overall, I was a bit annoyed at how much Pinkie ticked off Cranky, but it was all forgiven after she found Matilda for Cranky. Only real friends would go so out of their way to do something like that. I think I'd rate this around a 9-9.5/10; definitely in my top 5 for this season so far. Again, Pinkie was extremely persistent, but her heart was in the right place. Also, dat song. DAT SONG. So hard to not like Pinkie after a song like that. I also love how it also really characterizes her personality as well. Her meaning to life is to make people smile. So much d'awww I got diabetes. Again.

Also, did anyone feel they really amped up the animation during Smile?

Also, the felt part, I read they actually did that part by hand. That's no Flash animation when we looked at Pinkie's mind! It makes Pinkie Pie pulling up the felt check even more 4th wall breaking.
