Well I mean you're not forced to pay to progress in the game, granted Maple could be argued as well. It's already been proven multiple times that you can still do GGC / Maxwell / New Quests without the "optimal" units. Hell, people have defeated Maxwell with FREE healers for crying out loud. I guess it's just how people define it and/or view it.

Worst part about it is that, at least to me, the game definitely falls into the mobile-game addictive model, i.e. instead of feeling "Oh hey this is a pretty cool game which I'd love to support through occasional purchases", it's more like "Ugh. I reeeeally need to buy gems now, before X event is over. I NEED THOSE GEMS NAO. *reaches for wallet*"
(And before anybody gives me the spiel about how the game is still free and that Gumi is so nice to hand out free gems and I'm overreacting and expecting everything on a silver platter, lemme stop you there. I'm just saying that such obvious gambling hooks make me less inclined to financially support games with this business model, that's all.)

Reed dungeon batch is out! It's finicky right now. Sometimes the dungeon disappears.
Level 5 costs 30 energy.
Level 6 costs 40 energy.
Reports are saying Reed isn't crit resistant.

Just beat level 6 with some underleveled Water-units.
Double Maxwell, Duel-SGX, Lucina (SBB2), Signas (level 77, SBB3) and Darvanshel for safety.
Edit: hm. Captured Reed on the first try, but the dungeon borked, stole my energy and didn't reward me with him or the first clear reward. That was lame.
Edit 3: False alarm. Had enough energy to run level 6 again, captured a Lord Reed, and got my clear bonus. I think I got an extra Gem somehow, I had 15 when the Gems disappeared, came back to 16, and now I'm up to 17 from clearing level 6.
