Which one of the 3 did you pick?

3DS discussion with Tokyo Gameshow Tidbits: Ace Vs. Layton - Link - 2012-03-27

Anyone have any suggestions for games to buy at the moment? I have $75 in Gamestop gift cards and ~$10 in cash.

I'm leaning toward getting Kid Icarus : Uprising and Fire Emblem : Awakening when it comes out. I don't really know much about either game. I hear Kid Icarus is amazing, but I've never played Kid Icarus (previous title(s), of course), nor do I know much about it at all (but is that even necessary?). Fire Emblem, I've played the previous games, but I don't know what this new one is going to be like.

Kid Icarus Uprising may as well be a reboot. The only other game in the series is the original for nes. Story isn't that compelling but the gameplay and multiplayer are supposed to make up for it.

I don't really know what to say about Fire Emblem though. Little information has been given about it and we don't even know when the launch date is.

Right now the game to look out for for 3DS would probably be KH3D.

There's actually a ton of information on Fire Emblem Awakening, given it's only ~3 weeks from it's Japan launch. If you've played a fire emblem GBA/Ike series game, it's going to be somewhere in between the two, with branching job paths, the overworld map (and supposedly the more detailed supports) returning from Sacred stones, as well as the character Skills (though they might not be as customizable) and people who can transform into animals ( I don't think they're quite Laguz though) From the Ike games. Plus several new things.

I guess sort of tangentially related to 3DS, but the TWEWY remixes in KH3D are actually amazing.

Oh wow, you're right.

Kingdom Hearts 3D seems to be the most technically advanced game on the system right now. The areas in the game are huge (about the opposite of BBS), it looks gorgeous, and the game itself is freaking amazing too. Definitely a day 1 buy / pre-order/purchase for me.

3DS discussion with Tokyo Gameshow Tidbits: Ace Vs. Layton - Lozmaster - 2012-03-31

It's a shame those remixs are so slow, especially on someday, the song is completely ruined by that slow speed (In my opinion, obviously)

Wow, Someday is really bad. Not sure how I feel about Twister.

3DS discussion with Tokyo Gameshow Tidbits: Ace Vs. Layton - Kirov - 2012-03-31

I must say I’m not a huge fan of those either. Twister is the only one that’s alright. Perhaps they sound better when they are used in some sort of context within the game who knows.

Well to give Shimomura some credit, she remixed the unplugged version:

But I do admit, Twister is my favourite out of all of them by far.

Twister has a Bastion feel to it, heh. Probably the guitar.

The problem with these is that they're trying to improve on perfection. I hate video game music but god damn, the original TWEWY sound track is one of two game soundtracks that I would actually listen to on my iPod.

The other being Nier.

Nier had some awesome music.

I can't believe i forgot about Kingdom Hearts 3D.
I seem to be on a DS binge lately, i just bought Okamiden and The World Ends with You for the DS and they should be arriving this week or next, can't wait.

I didn't know KH3D had come out in Japan. guess i won't be seeing it here until the summer though Sad

Twister was the "best", other 2 were ruined by their slow speed imo. So zetta slow.
It just "requires" to have some speed in it.
Remixes just have to be cretain, and still have a kind of feeling of the original.
Twewy it self just has plain out awesome soundtrack. When you slow it down, it gets a feel. And when it's at the TWEWY normal speed (AKA KH3D speed up), it gives some action feeling to it.

Oh maybe some context for the music would be good to. I'm pretty sure the TWEWY music is used for theme music for the different characters that'll so up. Ie. Twister is Neku.

Link Wrote:Oh, god. A MapleStory 3DS? lol... Oh, well. At least none (or most) of us won't have to deal with that atrocimacy, since the 3DS is region locked. xd

Hey, MapleStory DS wasn't too bad. I thought they did a pretty decent job with it, it kinda felt like an RPG Castlevania (Better known as Metroidvania), except a tad more childish (which is to be expected).

If they made a MS3DS in that way, except probably more difficult, it would probably be a pretty decent game.

They also confirmed August 3 for Europe. Awesome

It sounds like I might have something to finally tell my dad what I want for my birthday this year, so he doesn't have to ask me a ba-f'ucking-jillion times again like last year.

I've never played a Kingdom Hearts game, though, so I don't know what to expect or know how well I will even get into it.
