To be fair, the last hiatus was because Oda needed to recover from a tonsillectomy.

Plot is plodding.
Introducing intermittent back stories in the middle of suspense scenes isn't a typical Oda convention. Seems like more of a Kubo thing. Maybe Kubo and Kishimoto have been taking over for Oda since the Punk Hazard arc. Maybe they killed Oda and have been submitting manga as him. Maybe Oda never existed, maybe he was a pen name for Kubimoto.
