I'm fine with a Metroid spin-off. now the petition is just fucking stupid. "Give me nothing instead of something" They put the word prime on it so obviously it's going to be related to the past games. It could be good but nah lets just take a massive pomegranate on it. Metroid doesn't have to have Samus???

I was watching some gameplay during the Treehouse live stream for it. It looks like they took Metroid and Monster Hunter and tried to fuse them. Monster capturing? Really? I mean, it makes sense chronologically, as we've seen multiple times that the Galactic Federation loves to collect species of alien creatures to study, but that being the core gameplay of a title that hasn't seen a well received game since 2007 is just awful. Not to mention... They named the freakin' beasts stupid names like "ICE BEAST!" Even the Nintendo representatives playing the game were laughing at how bad those names were.
Also, apparently, the next time we get a big-name console Metroid game will be in at the soonest ~4 years from now according to a recent interview stating that if it were to be made now, it would be released for the NX - the next generation Nintendo console.

The new Nier game announcement has me hyped because I thought that project basically died with Cavia.
BUT THEY GOT PLATINUM GAMES TO DEVELOP IT.
And then "Song of the Ancients" started kicking in and I died at that point.

The only thing that would have made me more hyped would have been a platinumgames remake of drakengard 1. Playing as a psychotic with an angry dragon in HD developed by a company that can actually do action gaming appeals to me for some reason, I can't imagine why. I can dream dreams of Caim completely soaked in blood with an insane smirk, carrying around a Guts-sized weapon with enough blunt striking power to throw 5 people per swing 20 feet away into the nearest ditch or cliffside, riding around on Chaos Angelus using the fully charged breath attack in glorious 1080p, causing multiple apocalypses per map.

Yeah the game is quite childlike.
My First Metroid springs to mind. Apparently that art style was chosen to accommodate the small screens of the 3DS. Though the DS managed Hunters just fine but whatever.
I think the hate will eventually die down though once the E3 hype fades away. I'm sure it is a good game. It would have been an awesome compliment to a Prime Wii U game but oh well. No Prime till NX now at least so everyone will just have to get over it. It could be worse anyway I mean you could be an F-Zero fan.
But that Fast Racing Neo looks alright for an eShop game. I might consider picking it up now after seeing it. Since it is the best i can hope for at this point.

Probably becasue there are 4 players to deal with at once and the 3DS isn't exactly a powerhouse. And they probably made it 3D too.

An interesting rumor has popped up. Obviously, we should take it for what it is - a rumor - but it would make sense in context. Still, it also feels like someone is looking for blanks to fill in the gaps and to cause undeserved hype.
