And you can go at any time, but if you don't have the Wystone from the end of the main story, expect to be kicked a lot at G Rank unless you're playing with friends. (Even though you don't really NEED it until mid-late G, I think)

You get a nice affinity boost that's useful. Extreme state monsters, though, have stupidly increased defense points and such that make actually fighting them far more difficult and some of them even need to be knocked out of it to really have a chance against them.

Congrats! What was your tactic? I know that if you bring some Dash Juice and spend about 5 minutes running in circles, the Rajang will kill Zinogre for you.

Doctor Omega Wrote:At G1, you haven't even experienced half of it. G1 and G2 shit is easy compared to the quests you unlock after G3. Apex Rajang, Apex Deviljho, Apex Seregios, and Raging Brachydios are just to name a few. And don't even get me started on guild quests that are level 130+. Those redefine the word hard. Without a very good team and everyone equipped with two Wystones, they're practically impossible. I have the fully upgraded Kushala Daora X set with over 800 defense when I eat for Felyne Defender Hi, and I get nearly one-shotted on guild quests that are over 130. At that point, the game ceases to be fun and becomes a chore, which is quite sad. I don't want to think of Monster Hunter as a chore, but with these massively and unnecessarily overpowered monsters, that's exactly what it is. I'm very, very frustrated with this game. It is not what I was hoping for in a sequel to 3U. I feel like they have taken so many steps back. I would advise anyone against doing G-rank stuff until you have a G-rank armor set with at least 600 defense. Any defense less than that is going to be a burden on your team. Its nothing against other players, but when I'm hosting a G-rank room, you get kicked if you don't have at least 600 defense.
