Isn't there a bait specifically for Arowana? Also, when is there a literal point where I can start playing online with people? Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - OrionTempest - 2015-03-16 Arrol Wrote:Isn't there a bait specifically for Arowana? Yeah, I've got cats with Arowana Fisherman or whatever it's called. And you can go at any time, but if you don't have the Wystone from the end of the main story, expect to be kicked a lot at G Rank unless you're playing with friends. (Even though you don't really NEED it until mid-late G, I think) Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Polantaris - 2015-03-17 OrionTempest Wrote:Yeah, I've got cats with Arowana Fisherman or whatever it's called. You really don't need Wystones at all until you hit Extreme monsters. Frenzied monsters can overall benefit you if you intentionally get the Frenzy Virus and counter it. You get a nice affinity boost that's useful. Extreme state monsters, though, have stupidly increased defense points and such that make actually fighting them far more difficult and some of them even need to be knocked out of it to really have a chance against them. Yeah, but there's still people who believe that not having a Wystone in G-Rank is grounds for an instakick. Although it's not a problem if you're just playing with friends. Although considering how many people don't bother to beat any part of the solo content before rushing to G Rank, it doesn't really surprise me that much. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Polantaris - 2015-03-18 Ugh. No one can cut Dalamadur's tail online. I need 4 tail shells for the damn Hammer, but everyone uses every opportunity to hit the tail to jump on his back instead, even though half of the time he bounces you off before you can even get to anything to hit. Freaking infuriating. Especially since he's so damn boring to fight. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Arrol - 2015-03-18 I've just bested my first Apex Seregios. My feet and hands were sweating like non before. Unlike my first fight with base Seres, I didn't die by it. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - OrionTempest - 2015-03-19 And done. Only carted once because Zinogre decided to move and I ended up hitting Rajang instead.

I know that if you bring some Dash Juice and spend about 5 minutes running in circles, the Rajang will kill Zinogre for you. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - OrionTempest - 2015-03-19 Polantaris Wrote:I feel like he's only hard because he's WAY too massive. Regardless, congrats on the deathless kill! I just ran in, threw down a Smoke Bomb, beat on Zinogre until it went Frenzied (He also spawns fully charged, too), then he moved slightly to attack one of my cats, which caused me to hit Golden Rajang and get its attention as well. De-Frenzied Zinogre, carted, ran around trying to get a shot off when G.Rajang ended up finishing Zinogre. Beat up G.Rajang until it died, then after the G.Rajang corpse despawns, the arena goes dark and Shagaru spawns, and it's just a normal Shagaru fight from there. The only real challenge is Rajang, honestly. Even though it's a High Rank quest, he still does a ton of damage to a Gunner, but they also have massively reduced HP because it's a triple hunt. Using a Smoke Bomb as soon as you get in makes it so one of them doesn't aggro you if they haven't seen you yet, since a least one of them will spot you as soon as you get in. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Arrol - 2015-03-21 So, tips on fighting a Fatalis? Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Polantaris - 2015-03-21 Arrol Wrote:So, tips on fighting a Fatalis? Gun him. Aim for the head. Hope he doesn't bullshit you (fat chance). Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Arrol - 2015-03-21 Polantaris Wrote:Gun him. Aim for the head. Hope he doesn't bullshit you (fat chance). I'm not a gunner. and I can only reach blue sharpness Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Polantaris - 2015-03-21 Arrol Wrote:I'm not a gunner. and I can only reach blue sharpness Learn to gun/bow...? But in all seriousness: Bring a paralyze weapon. Aim for the legs. When he's paralyzed he'll fall over and you can get good hits on his face. His head has like 4 breaks, when he loses his eye you've gotten the last one. Outside of that...hope you don't get bullpomegranateted (still a fat chance). I never understood why people wanted Fatalis back. He's honestly not all that fun, and he's not even really difficult. It's just that everything 1-hit KO's. I would suggest just waiting until you're in G Rank, honestly. With G Rank armor and weapons you don't have to worry about getting one-shot and you'll kill him much faster. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Arrol - 2015-03-21 My first fight with M.Tigrex overview. Beginning: It felt eerily, slower than usual. Could only attack the back legs. Middle: Reached full on rage mode and is just doing a marathon all over tower. Rolling and rolling off the powder, but doesn't give me a break as it keeps running over me. End: Me and my Palicos are at it's mercy, despite weakening it, I was very much overpowered because this guy keeps dumping my stamina away. My conclusion: Molten Tigrex is a bitch ass. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Doctor Omega - 2015-03-24 Just in case anyone was wondering what single player is like, it's pretty simple really: Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK Cutscene TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK. Oh, and guess what? There are quests where they stop you right in the middle of a tense battle to TALK. Here's s an idea, when I'm in the middle of soloing Seregios, why don't you shut your fucking mouth and let me fight. Honestly, this game... Never in my life have I had to sit through so much unnecessary bullshit dialogue and fucking cutscenes. For those of you that don't have this game, just be warned that it is a MAJOR downgrade from Tri and 3U. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - sweetpapaya - 2015-03-25 I just ranked up to G1 and damn, those monster are tough Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Doctor Omega - 2015-03-25 sweetpapaya Wrote:I just ranked up to G1 and damn, those monster are tough At G1, you haven't even experienced half of it. G1 and G2 shit is easy compared to the quests you unlock after G3. Apex Rajang, Apex Deviljho, Apex Seregios, and Raging Brachydios are just to name a few. And don't even get me started on guild quests that are level 130+. Those redefine the word hard. Without a very good team and everyone equipped with two Wystones, they're practically impossible. I have the fully upgraded Kushala Daora X set with over 800 defense when I eat for Felyne Defender Hi, and I get nearly one-shotted on guild quests that are over 130. At that point, the game ceases to be fun and becomes a chore, which is quite sad. I don't want to think of Monster Hunter as a chore, but with these massively and unnecessarily overpowered monsters, that's exactly what it is. I'm very, very frustrated with this game. It is not what I was hoping for in a sequel to 3U. I feel like they have taken so many steps back. I would advise anyone against doing G-rank stuff until you have a G-rank armor set with at least 600 defense. Any defense less than that is going to be a burden on your team. Its nothing against other players, but when I'm hosting a G-rank room, you get kicked if you don't have at least 600 defense. If it's any consolation, even the JP players have complained that the game is too hard. I hope they dump the entire GQ system in the next game. Seriously, those maps are boring, the music in them is boring, and having to do them 100+ times at insane difficulty is just not fun. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: Reviews and Discussion - Doctor Omega - 2015-03-25 I'm even going to go so far as to say I hate this game. I work in the IT department of a large supermarket chain in Indiana, and usually when I work second shifts, I have my 3DS with me because things get slow. If 3U had ever had that option of full online capabilities on the 3DS, I would have been spending EVERY waking minute playing it when I wasn't busy at work. But now? Nah. I have my 3DS with me and the mere task of bending over to get it out of my backpack is just too much work to play this game. I've already passed the 200 hour mark and I only have two G-rank sets of armor. I'm finding it very difficult to even give a damn about this game, and that depresses me. I'm thinking back to how much I was looking forward to this game and comparing that to my feels now that it's actually here. What the fuck, Capcom? Seriously. You guys took an awesome game and shit all over it. There are so many broken aspects of this game it makes me sick. My current biggest gripes are that huge, steaming pile of shit Black Gravios and the Rathian/Rathalos. The Black Gravios is nothing but a fucked up computer program that is stuck in an infinite loop, spamming the same attacks over and over and over and over again. And somehow, AFTER you sever the tails of the Rathian/Rathalos, they can still poison you. The Rathian will do the backflip, and you will literally get hit by a blank hit box and get poisoned. Same thing with the Rathalos. The more I think about how fucked up this game is, the angrier I get. |
