But whats to stop the mafia from lying? As you said there are plenty of pokemon to choose from to roleclaim which will make it pretty easy to lie.

I agree with this. The anime has shown pokemon to be capable of a hell of lot more than what the games display.

Depends though whether TM's/HM's have a place in this game, or if only what moves the Pokemon learn through level ups.
When I try and think about normal mafia roles and how they would connect with Pokemon I can only think that Chansey = doctor obviously, a Growlithe could be a cop because of its connection with Officer Jenny, an electric Pokemon could be a roleblocker but that is it. Then certain ideas come to me like a Ditto could transform and copy and power from another player, and a Magikarp could evolve and get a different move.
But, I don't think a mass roleclaim is gonna help anything on day 1, almost nothing helps on day 1 unless someone trips up really badly.

Pretty much this. It's why I basically ignored him when he said I looked suspicious to him lol.
I'd say we could each vote for ourselves, which would result in any potential doublevoter getting killed, but those roles tend to be mayors (town-aligned). Ultimately we need to lynch somebody, but we don't exactly have much to go off of right now.

No one has really made a case that a mass roleclaim would benefit the town, in fact letting the mafia know what possible powers you have may be hurting the town. Meta and Meow have already made some references to the roles that Chansey, Growlithe, Ditto, and Magikarp would have. We can even infer what types of power someone like Snorlax, Porygon, or Jynx/Haunter would have. I already said that history of a species of pokemon may cause suspicion, and MasPan's accusation again meow is a prime example. I am a bit suspicious of those who want a mass roleclaim, but it doesn't really matter since most everyone has left some type of flavor as to what type or Pokemon they are.

Ah, day 1 empty talking again. Are we ever going to get past voting for silent people on day 1? I'm ambivalent about the massclaim to be honest, on the one hand it gives us some info to work with on day 1 (based on who claims what and when), but it could also lead mafia to targets. It could also be completely unrelated to anything too.
Oh I just realized that fano isn't playing this game. I don't know whether to be sad because fewer players or happy because he's terrifying when he's mafia.

I'd be okay with people revealing their pokemon, but I'm against a mass role claim. That would take the fun out of it IMO.

Even if everyone is 'in on it', what good does it do on Day 1? ._. I'm not opposing it necessarily, but I don't see how mass roleclaiming does anyone but the mafia any favours.
Roleclaiming would mean everyone knows
- moves
- types
- pokemon breed
and everyone would be able to BS their way through if there's no actions to back them up (that'd solve your issue somewhat, ols\). I reckon we should wait, unless there's something really bad about it that convinces me otherwise.
