It does give an impression that they're including EE hacked equips as well.

Too bad these hacked items are much easier to identify than the enhancement hacked items. It would be great to get rid of those too.

no they're not.... the over 9000 stars are pretty shiny.

oh well, happy here, as long as they don't mess with my +10 polearm, i got a video for each scroll dammit.

Yeah guys EE hacked weapons aren't getting deleted.

I feel like some badass superhero waltzed in and kicked Nexon's asses aside to save the day with a few keyboard strokes.

Judging by the fact that no one seems to be distressed about what just happened here, and it seems to be important info, I'll repost what that hacker guy said.

Apparently that hacker guy from earlier claims that hackers have been holding these items in the Wedding Gift storage NPC in Amoria. Assuming his claims are legitimate, if Nexon doesn't check that, then this whole maintenance will accomplish nothing. pineapple.

Mods, If I wasn't supposed to post this for some reason, sorry, it just seems like important info.

Worthyness Wrote:Why woudl you just give them their weapons back? They clearly went against the ToS as well as ruined your fricken game, why not just outright perma ban them? Legitimate players being affected by these items? pineapple that! If they have them in their inventory, they knowingly bought the damned hack/the item to have it and they are equally as liable as the hackers are. They are too soft with their consequences.

Oh they ruined our game, but we'll give them a chance to redeem themselves because we're so nice and they will change their ways once they know that we will remove their items.
Granted they could just remake a new account, it would be farm better to just eliminate their entire presence.
Think about it this way...
If nexon accidentally had legits affected, would legits rather be perma banned or have a weapon refreshed?
Sure they ruined our game, but the weapons are gone, dude. They'll make a new account anyway, as you said. And making them waste hundreds of dollars seems like a nice torture to me.

Thank God I am batsh'it poor and the most I have is +10 on my Tiara because of HP. I wouldn't mind if I got a clean one.

They really should do a check and replace like this at every database maintenance anyway. Even if they're stupid enough to put in more exploits in the future, hackers make stuff, sell to "legits", item gets deleted a patch later. The rest of us can laugh.

Justin Wrote:Not holding my breath until the dust clears on this one. If they don't check MTS, Storage, Duey (Yes, even fucking DUEY), and locked items, EVERYTHING, then this is a failure in execution entirely. As stated they don't mention mass duped or EE hacked equips either.

Here's hoping this is the "dust storm" of Maplestory. Or whatever the pineapple that huge item wiping of Diablo II patch was called.
rust storm, but the biggest difference is, with rust storm they implemented a unique ID tag for every single item in the entire game; dupes have the same unique identifier as the original, thus making it very easy to delete all duplicates. In 1.10 they actually made it a semi-permanent feature, and the duplicate deletion happened at random every single time you left a game, forever. Which is why HRs were so hard to sell after a while, because they were so badly duped it was almost impossible that they would last beyond the game you bought them in (though a bypass of sorts was eventually found, but even that wasn't perfect). D2's system for dealing with illegit/duped items was actually very good, they just slacked on absolutely everything else, from botting to RMT spammers to server connectivity.

You people need to stop labeling these people as 'Legit'. How many times has Nexon stated, out and inside the ToS, that if something seems too good to be safe, then it probably is not?. It's not like the hackers went into FM and started gifting these weapons to everyone, people with them either bought them or made them so anyone with one knows pretty well they are illicit.

the reason why Nexon doesn't ban anyone is because it isn't good business-wise, not because they don't wanna harm legits, because there are none.

Wow. Did you even read? I didn't label hackers "legit". You also should stop getting upset over people. Every day... "you people this" "you people that". Seriously. Calm down.
Also, don't put words in my mouth. I never said that was nexon's idea. I was asking what they thought of the idea that LEGITIMATE PEOPLE who HAD LEGITIMATE items. might get affected because nexon MIGHT HAVE PURGED HAMMERED ITEMS. I never said nexon had that plan. It was my own thoughts.

As I think was posted before, if one was willing to spend thousands of $ on one of these items, obviously they're willing to spend a lot of money on this game.
It would be counterproductive for nexon to ban them.

I'd be much more happy if they kicked every familiar hack leecher off of the rankings, at the very least. It can't be too hard to see who partied with the hackers...

Nexon gains and loses players all the time. Their player base will easily recover. They'll just speed things up more than they already do and bring Justice to GMS to gain more players.
