Funhouse & other Frivolous Things - Shidoshi - 2011-05-23 Whatever, it's late and I should sleep. Come back and infract me when the rules change and I actually do what I've been tooting my horn about. Rick Wrote:So you were a problem before, and looks like you're going to be a problem after.Show me when I was a problem before. Funhouse & other Frivolous Things - Rick - 2011-05-23 Ponies. EVERYWHERE. Funhouse & other Frivolous Things - IllegallySane - 2011-05-23 Rick Wrote:Ponies. EVERYWHERE. Being a problem? In the Funhouse where internet images/memes are everywhere in that sub-section? Honestly, you need a better argument than that. Funhouse =/= EVERYWHERE in Southperry. I am not supporting Rick or anything, but Shi has a habit of posting them outside of the Funhouse somewhat often. Again, using ponies as reaction images is no different than using anime or anything else as a reaction image. But we are getting off-topic now aren't we? It is different when it is posted continuously. Anime and other types of images aren't as consantly posted as MLP images which causes people to get annoyed by seeing the same thing over and over and over again. If people wanted to see image dumps all the time there would have been image dump threads every single day. Ever heard the term "absence makes the heart grow fonder"? I don't care either way about spamming images. However using "Because it is no different from other reaction images" excuse is a very poor one. Because it does become different by the way and how often you do it. Funhouse & other Frivolous Things - Shidoshi - 2011-05-24 MetaSeraphim Wrote:It is different when it is posted continuously. It's not an image dump when you are posting ONE image. Anyway you can not like it all you want, even if there was ponies everywhere. If it doesn't cross the line into Spam (outside the shanenigans), it's not wrong. Funhouse & other Frivolous Things - Swerve - 2011-05-24 What is the point of keeping the current set of rules, when most users prefer to post in a sub-section with a more lenient rule set? The slippery slope? I'm just pondering if the community necessity for a laissez-faire sub-section is a result of the current rules having a This is just speculation. Do not take it too seriously. The discussion is appreciated. Rules exist for a purpose, evading them has consequences, both the rules and the consequences must be enforced equally and consistently and whether or not people agree with them doesn't change their responsibility to abide by them or face the consequences. Though the speed limit itself CAN be wrong, if you put 10km/h on a steep slope most cars can't go up, or having stupidly slow speeds on straight multi-lane highways. I do agree with Eos here though, the problem is not the rules. The other sections of the forum have always worked very well inside them. The problem was always how to deal with leniency on the funhouse. However, I do agree the obscenity rule gets sillier every time it's updated, seriously now, even youtube-safe videos can now be not safe, if you have anything like a sexy dance or people saying naughty words it would be considered an offense by the new rule. And here was I thinking the world was going on a less pudic way with topless being allowed at beaches (where people younger than 18 are allowed, mind you) and stuff. Oh, that was already happening before the rule change. Funhouse & other Frivolous Things - Shippo the Fox - 2011-05-25 Is it that hard to have a spam section or do the members here have their asses clenched too tight? More like the people who insist we need a spam section are also the ones who can't manage the little bit of self control expected even in a spam section. Funhouse & other Frivolous Things - OB3LISK - 2011-05-25 wtp I never saw this poll. I prefer the Frivilous replacing but I think it should be a little less spammy. While "What Funhouse" proved the point pretty well I wonder if some people truly and honestly depend solely on a spam forum. And if they would up and leave the forum if it stayed away. Funhouse & other Frivolous Things - Satellite - 2011-05-27 ^That is because most think that Funhouse or something similar will be back. I bet they'll be back though. |
