Bravo, what do you expect them to do? Sell their company and use the money all in support of japan? I agree with this 100%. At the end of the day nexon still has a company to run and wages to pay.. I dont see all you guys giving every last cent you own to japan, so you shouldnt expect them to either.. It gets their names in the news and portrays them positively. In fact, if you check the news at all, plenty of companies have jumped on the donation bandwagon, and many have donated much more than Nexon did. The idea that they are lying about making this donation is pretty silly. This is a company that made $575M USD in revenue last year. I really don't think they're going to be scraping the bucket for this donation. The way Nexon operates with their customers leads me to think otherwise (in regards to thinking they have no reason to be lying). Do you remember when Nexon stated in a notice that they would reward those players who purchased a lot of NX during their Black Friday event? Well, myself being one of those players, I have as of yet to see this so-called reward. Based on the above and the overall incompetence of this company, I do not trust what it announces just because it announced it. Sure, companies give donations to generate PR. Companies also promise to give donations to generate PR, does not mean they actually will. You think the issue we're complaining about is that they're not donating more money or that they're skimping out on their best items, when that's not it at all. I honestly do not see a difference in this and when you said that you'd rather see Nexon donate 5% of their entire revenue from one date to the next. In fact, I'm pretty sure this makes the donated money more than what that 5% would be. The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help - LuxAeterna - 2011-03-15 I personally believe anyone who has taken a middle school English class would be able to understand what the notice is saying and if you buy from the game tab anyway thinking its gonna help its YOUR fault not nexons especially when in the main notice it even tells you as a first option to donate directly to about 5 charities (with links) sorry but it just seems like some of you are fishing just for the hell of it =/ The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help - Sarah - 2011-03-15 LuxAeterna Wrote:I personally believe anyone who has taken a middle school English class would be able to understand what the notice is saying and if your buy from game tab anyway thinking its gonna help its YOUR fault not nexons especially when in the main notice it even tells you as a first option to donate directly to about 5 charities (with links) sorry but it just seems like some of you are fishing just for the hell of it =/ >Implying anyone on the internet is capable of reading. LOOK AT THE RESPONSES IN THIS THREAD ALONE No one reads anything. Putting one instance of a word isn't enough. I didn't say anything about the amount of money cubes make. At one point I simply stated as an aside that 5% of total revenue would be better than 100% of revenue on things people don't typically buy. I don't know about you, but I would think that the majority of players care more about aesthetics than CUBES CUBES CUBES. The only people who buy cubes and 2x drop cards are those extremely dedicated to the game or those who are at pretty high levels. Most everyone else would be buying NX to make their character look cool or to get a pet. Therefore, I think this is the best method to have a portion of sales go to charity. The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help - ShanghaiDizzy - 2011-03-15 The issue here isn't the amount of money donated. Nexon can donate half a million or ten million if they wanted. The very fact they placed difficult message that even people with middle school English class comprehension can misread (see this thread for example) over where extra sources for donations do NOT come from brings out immoral issues here. So, just because they didn't make it 100% clear that not every single blasted item in the game has its profit sent to charity makes Nexon immoral? Okay. The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help - ShanghaiDizzy - 2011-03-15 If you're going to make some arguments, don't leave out what the remainder of the thread has already stated. It makes them pretty awful, yes Do you think that if I owned an iPod store, for example, and said 100% of my revenue would be donated to Japan and had posters posted everywhere but then on one poster hidden in the back a note was attached saying that it only applied to say iPod shuffles and then people came in and bought up tons of iPads and iPod touches thinking they were helping Japan that they wouldn't be upset when the found out? I did my job by posting it somewhere that anyone could see IF THEY LOOKED for it. They would want my pineappleing head. Nexon has done nothing less with this sale. The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help - Locked - 2011-03-15 The only items you guys are even mentioning from the Game section would be cubes. Just get over it, for Christ's sake. The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help - LuxAeterna - 2011-03-15 Sarah Wrote:>Implying anyone on the internet is capable of reading. The fault of not reading would still fall on the player not nexon since they clearly stated what everything is theres now ay around that. now its true they could add your picture to make it clearer for people who choose NOT to read and just skim over everything but in the end its still there own fault The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help - Link - 2011-03-15 Sarah Wrote:It makes them pretty awful, yes Nexon never said 100% of the game sales would be going to charity. The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help - Locked - 2011-03-15 The only reason why they didn't specify it in the main notice is because they listed other games with a Cash Shop service. They noted to click the link of the main game's site to see the list of items applicable. How is that okay? The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help - ShanghaiDizzy - 2011-03-15 ShiKage Wrote:Nexon never said 100% of the game sales would be going to charity. And you didn't read the rest of what she has already posted before. It's about time you start before any further discussion with you becomes laughable. The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help - LuxAeterna - 2011-03-15 Its still the readers fault for not READING it specifically tells you what to do and if you choose not to do it its your fault. If your in class and your teacher tells you to do a test on page 5 but check page 6 for instructions but you choose not to check page 6 is it the teachers fault or your own? I really don't think I have to when the argument Sarah just produced was that the company (Apple store in her example) stating a 100% proceed donation, but that's not what Nexon has done. Her argument was invalidated instantly due to that reason alone. |
