Yeah, the damage reduction on FA with multiple monsters is a killer with SB, so it depends on what you're training on. If you plan on using SB a lot, don't put any points into FA.

How much W.ATK would a W.ATK scrolled shield have to be for a 1-Hander to have the same attack range as a 2-Hander? (For example, I have a 118 W.ATK Battle Hammer. How much W.ATK would my shield have to be to have the same damage range as say, a 118 W.ATK Morningstar?)

That differs. In total attack, you need 9% more than a 2-hander, assuming both bws have the same speed. Basically, if you have 118 atk morningstar, 14 atk bwg, 4 atk cape and a 12 welixir pot (148 total watk), you need 162 (rounded up) total attack with a 1-hander to beat that damage. That answers to a 14 atk shield.

(nb, this is without the speed difference. With the speed difference, you may notice an even higher damage difference)

I think that still is the fastest for PA DK, Spear DK not so sure, but I'd imagine the same (possibly newties?).

Himes if your attacking, not sure if any Skpt would take you since its gonna take you like 19 hits to kill em

It's really a moot point to not to get FA cause your never killing only 6 monsters at a time you will be @ 1's and 2's and 3's a lot and the speed that FA helps more then makes up for the damage reduction as you go on, Not to mention when you are gettin to stronger monsters (FoG?, Voodoos?) that you will be using Power Strike a lot, and FA will help there so much from the speed

A better dex overall would net you some major acc (but from seeing that your going to do the 2nd job advance it looks liek, your under lvl 30 so that kinda ruins that till 30 or 35(whatever a Blue CrusaderChainMail's lvl is) other than that, a cheap acc boost could be for a Dex and Acc Work Glove (for a few mill) and also there is 10 acc pills in Ludi (1 more acc than the 9 acc pots from nlc) or even Maple Pops (leik 100 acc for a min or something) or like ... a Amorian Basket (30 or 40 acc) you shoulds need that much tho

Himes are better if you have PA fury especially. I recommend you stay in himes until 13x or until you can 2hko skeles (unless you find a party willing to take you early).

Ok, heres a question.. Im making a paly on Yello and always thought one handed swords were way better than any 2 handeds or bws, but after seeing that crushed skull... My question is should I still just go sword (nice red katanas in the mts are way easy to find) or should I try the BW..? :f6:

Crushed skulls aren't common, and decently scrolled blunt weapons are harder to come by, so yeah.

Red katanas can't be put in mts anymore.
If the BW were fast(4), then we could discuss. Sadly, this is not true.

Also, you can't mts maple shields either, so you're off with 7 slot shields. Might consider this before you go 1h.

You can still mts those, Nikkey. I don't think there updating it till next patch.

You could always go 2h and wait til next anniversary, where hopefully the monsters drop shields, then go 1h. Big Grin It's what I'm doing on Yellonde. Sad

True. I want to be one handed, but I'm waiting til Yellonde gets the MTS. If it's before the next patch, I can snag a good Katana. Then I can either somehow get a 21 att shield from 7 slots, or wait til next may. -sigh-

One of my old guildmates soloed at Peak of the Big Nest (with Skelesauruses and nest golems, I believe, not sure) from 120 to 130, then quit.

I don't think you'll be able to get enough accuracy from your equipment without merchanting for at least a month. I personally don't think the 26 STR is gonna make that much of a difference.
