I'm confused. I swear I've borrowed it for the Game Cube, long before the Wii came out. Nope. http://wii.ign.com/objects/884/884970.html Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Kunagisa - 2011-01-20 GameMX Wrote:Nope. Actually, yes he's right. The game cover is Ōkami, but most of the time sites don't put accents in stuff like this (partially because not everyone has computers that support it). Just like how most sites list Pokémon as Pokemon. Even the official site does this. In Japanese it's ポケモン which needs an accent for the "e" at the end of ケ Unless you're saying the game with such strong Japanese roots isn't using the Japanese word for "wolf" as the title. Maybe it was supposed to be 女将 (Okami, landlady)? Yeah, sounds like a fitting name for the game, right? Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Sarah - 2011-01-21 Mark Wrote:Well, that sure is ignorant. Please name some other GC exclusives that were GREAT. I'm not looking for mediocre or Super Smash Brothers Melee. The GCN did not have a quality library, sorry. Just like the N64 only had a handful of good games. The Wii has outshined them both already, while the DS has the best library of our current generation, and is probably second only to the first Playstation, and based on the list of upcoming games it seems like the 3DS will follow suit. I have no problem with Nintendo, but blindly defending it's failures only makes it difficult to accept your valid points. The GC was a failure. Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Secun - 2011-01-21 Eh, I'll admit that the GCN was a pretty weak system. Doesn't mean it didn't have some fun/good games. Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Mark - 2011-01-21 Sarah Wrote:Please name some other GC exclusives that were GREAT. I'm not looking for mediocre or Super Smash Brothers Melee. Thing about exclusives is that unless it's Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong or something it's most likely been ported elsewhere. I don't care what anyone says, Mario Sunshine was a welcome addition. Animal Crossing was a huge, but fun time sink when it was new, but now Nintendo is whoring the series out like a cheap whore. Pikmin 1 and 2 were solid games. Then we have Rogue Squadron 2 and 3, XIII, Killer 7, Eternal Darkness, Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2, Fire Emblem: PoR and Baten Kaitos to name a few from memory. I'm too lazy to go find my collection. Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Will - 2011-01-21 Probably won't get it at launch like I hoped. Need to buy a lot of stuff in the coming months. Summer buy for sure. Good price, too. Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Sarah - 2011-01-21 Mario Sunshine was mediocre. I tried replaying it recently, after SMG and was just so... confused. It was really poorly developed. Animal Crossing is bad. It's the same as farmville. But with less multiplayer. I've never played Pikmin and have only heard good things so I can't disagree with that. I'll add Eternal Darkness to this list as well. >Star Wars XIII was multiplatform, as were Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2. I have played Fire Emblem and can fully agree that it is good. Baten Kaitos was terrrrrible. Boring characters, boring story, TERRIBLE BATTLE SYSTEM. So giving you the benefit of the doubt I'd put 3 of the exclusive titles you listed at "better than mediocre". It still doesn't compare to either of the competing consoles of that generation. Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Mark - 2011-01-21 Sarah Wrote:Mario Sunshine was mediocre. I tried replaying it recently, after SMG and was just so... confused. It was really poorly developed. I ain't even mad. Forgot Luigi's Mansion too. GCN wasn't a total failure like some people like to believe. Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Rick - 2011-01-21 What is it with people and Super Mario Galaxy. It was so stupid that even my mother finished it. Mark Wrote:Forgot Luigi's Mansion too. I got my Gamecube all the way from home and am currently looking for a copy of this gem... Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Link - 2011-01-21 Look... If games were good enough to be ported over to another system, like the Wii, after it came out on the GCN first, that means those games made the Game Cube good. Why the hell wouldn't the Game Cube be good for starting off those games? I really don't get that logic. Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Sarah - 2011-01-21 Mark Wrote:I ain't even mad. AC: It's boring. Just like the Sims or any other real life fantasy play along. If I wanted to gather wood I'd go do it irl. Harvest Moon falls under this too. Star Wars: Nothing Star Wars has been good since the first 3 movies and even then they were just meant to be sort of funny and have been blown into something gross. No Star Wars video game has ever been good except that MMO and even that I'm iffy about saying is good. A lot of people enjoy it. But a lot of people also enjoy Twilight so... XIII: Was PS2 first by 6 days. Neener neener. Viewtiful Joe: Okay, you got me on that one. Luigi's Mansion wasn't really good. It wasn't fleshed out enough to be good (not a joke about ghosts). It was INTERESTING but it was sort of poorly done. I'll give it half points for introducing Professor E. Gadd who is sort of funny through the handheld RPG series. Even if I conceded that all of these titles are great, it wouldn't change the fact that it's 6 - 10 games it failed compared to the PS2's library of at least 30 AMAZING games (and that's a lowball number) and... I don't know about the XBOX. I think actually the GC is better than the XBOX so... you can cheer about that. pineapple FPS and sports games. @Rick: There's a problem with your mother finishing games? I would say that her finishing it is a testament to it being a good game, not just being easy. Most casuals don't stick with games that aren't enjoyable. @Shikage: Not really true. Games get ported because the company already owns the rights to them and want to milk what they can out of them, regardless of whether or not they were super successful. A different platform opens new opportunities for a game regardless of its history. Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Link - 2011-01-21 Yes, but the game system isn't bad because its games were ported over to another system, which was what you said in a previous post. The games like Twilight Princess and the first two Metroid Prime games were very great games the were originally on the Game Cube. All three of those games made the Game Cube golden, along with a few other amazing titles, but you suggest that because those games are also on the Wii, the Game Cube is terrible. Why? Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Sarah - 2011-01-21 ShiKage Wrote:Yes, but the game system isn't bad because its games were ported over to another system, which was what you said in a previous post. Because they're all better on the Wii. If they were better on the Gamecube THEN they would make it golden but they're aren't so they don't. Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Link - 2011-01-21 But that doesn't subtract from the game system... OF COURSE the remake is going to be better, because it's a REMAKE. Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Twilight - 2011-01-21 ShiKage Wrote:But that doesn't subtract from the game system... OF COURSE the remake is going to be better, because it's a REMAKE. Yeah just look at Twin Snakes... Two-hundred and forty nine US dollars - Link - 2011-01-21 Lol. What I meant was, you can't compare new generation consoles or new generation versions of games to older generations of consoles/games. Of course they're going to be better... That's just how things develop. |
