Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Phoenix Wright - 2010-08-11 Rob Wrote:Yes you can. But until now, the who recommended what feature seemed kind of useless. No problem on adding it though. Okay then. Mega Man X6. Game was rushed and features about 16 metric tons of annoying and poorly put together areas, enemies, or minibosses. One of the very few Mega Man games I can't stand :< Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Polka - 2010-08-11 Rob Wrote:Yes you can. But until now, the who recommended what feature seemed kind of useless. No problem on adding it though. ignoring the percieved elitism behind it, it's also helpful in the event that you know someone likes games that you also like, and want to play more of their personal recommendations. my other post was trying to say that but it definitely got covered up by the fact that i used "really good" and "really bad". but the same applies; from what i've seen longshotjohn likes games i would also like while clawofbeta doesn't. having a huge list of recommendations is pointless if you can't find games you might like based on what people with similar taste have recommended. Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Jormungandr - 2010-08-11 [COLOR="Teal"]I'll make a quick one for now. GBA Riviera: The Promised Land Turn based rpg pretty much, except it strays a little off the rpg path. It's pretty unique in the fact you don't control where your attacks go, but rather the item/person using it/and attack do. Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone Turn based strategy, with rpg elements, like fire emblem, but you control the fights, so depending on how you do, you'll affect the outcome of battles. Involves a card system for movement and battles. This game is HARD. I still haven't been able to beat it yet. Note: Just because I edit out some from some of these posts doesn't mean I don't think they are not worth recommending; I just haven't 100% completed them yet and feel it unfair to judge. While I'm flatted that you think I have a good taste in games, it's more that I'm a jack of all genres, master of none. That which I recommended was mostly the commonly high rated games that I myself have played to completion and enjoyed. By the same token, of all the games I've played, very few have left me feeling "that wasn't even worth playing", so I'm not too harsh in my ratings of things. Of course, I could NEVER recommend the few titles that have my name in their credits cause they flat out sucked. Moving on, since this thread is starting to slow down a bit, I'm going to throw in a few that I'm fairly confident will gather an anti-recommendation or two. Mystical Ninja: Staring Goemon | Adventure/Platforming | N64 Final Fantasy IX | RPG | PS1 Kirby's Air Ride | Battle Racing | Gamecube Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana | RPG | PS2 Radiata Stories | RPG | PS2 Rouge Galaxy | RPG/Action | PS2 (AKA Dark Cloud 3) Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King | RPG | PS2 the Munchables | ? (Katamari Clone) | Wii Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: My Life as King | RPG? | Wiiware Kirby 64 | Platforming/Action | N64, Wii Also, recommending reading up on .hack//Infection-Quarantine | RPG/Action | PS2. I can't do a full recommendation on this because while the story is very interesting, the gameplay is tedious and monotonous since it crosses 4 games without being changed. Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Hanabira.Kage - 2010-08-12 I second FFIX.
I recommend... Final Fantasy Tactics Advance | TBS | GBA Summon Night: Swordcraft Story | RPG | GBA Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 | RPG | GBA Fire Emblem | TBS | GBA Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn | TBS | Wii Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology | RPG | PSP Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core | RPG | PSP DJ MAX Portable 2 | Music | PSP DJ MAX Portable: Clazziquai Edition | Music | PSP DJ MAX Portable: Black Square | Music | PSP I must say I quite liked Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age as well. Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Loose - 2010-08-12 Wii Muramasa: The Demon Blade | Action | RPG Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - KhainiWest - 2010-08-13 Ah, southperry always bailin me out! My email change won't probably happen till next year by this rate and my ps3/wii is collecting dust downstairs. I haven't actually done any console gaming for like 3-4 years so I'm diving back in. It's just really dissapointing all the top 50 games, half of them are just stereotypical shooters, and you really have to dig for some gold. Also, burn out (Genre: racing Platform: PS3)looks really good, planning on getting it today. If anyone remember destruction derby this looks like a better graphics version lmao. Heavenly sword(Genre:Action/adventure System: PS3) looks like a better designed god of war with more variety. Although the gameplay i hear only runs 8 hours. This is from watching a lot of reviews, I'll come back with an update once I purchase them. Also loose I'm getting that muramasa game, it really is my style with that retro feel, thanks for the share. Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Cancambo - 2010-08-13 Crysis | FPS | PC Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Secun - 2010-08-14 Cancambo Wrote:Crysis | FPS | PC Seconded. An FPS with a decent, yet not that overly complex plot, a rare happening. Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - EarthAdept2 - 2010-08-14 Just noticed that there's no Megaman Zero or battle network games on here. Megaman Battle Network 1, 2, 3 | Action/RPG | GBA Megaman Zero 1, 2, 3, 4 | Action/Platforming | GBA Megaman ZX, ZXA | Action/Platforming | NDS I won't say 4, 5, 6 or star force because I haven't played any of those, but I'm sure other people will probably vouch for them. Again, I suck at classifying genres so feel free to correct me. Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Phoenix Wright - 2010-08-14 EarthAdept2 Wrote:Just noticed that there's no Megaman Zero or battle network games on here. I feel bad for leaving those MMs out. Seconded all of them. Battle Network 4 and 5 are terrible, IMO. 6 was pretty awesome. As far as Star Force goes, 1 was mediocre, 2 was frustratingly annoying, and 3 was good. Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - AAR - 2010-08-14 Everyone needs to play a Pokemon game from each generation at least once, through the Elite Four. It's just required. Also, StarCraft 2 is missing from the list. I've been playing a lot of old GBA games lately, and Summon Night: Swordcraft Story (not so much number 2), Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Fire Emblem, and Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones are amazing. Also, FFVI should be added to the GBA list because everyone should play it twice through. Because it's just that amazing. Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Rob - 2010-08-20 Kinda updating guys, sorry for being slow. I've added some of the names and what are they recommending. Keep it up! Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Polka - 2010-08-20 you've got silent hill 2 and 3 under playstation when they're playstation 2 games. also recommending silent hill 2. not 3 though. Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - mrcowcow - 2010-08-21 Phoenix Wright Wrote:I feel bad for leaving those MMs out. Seconded all of them. I'm seconding Megaman Battle Network 1, 5, and 6. 5 was a pretty nice change of pace, being a bit more strategy-oriented than the other ones, although I wouldn't recommend it as much as 6. 1's pretty good to get into the game, though I personally prefer 6 out of all the ones I've played (1, 4, 5, 6), since battles are much more fluid. 4 was just terrible beyond all belief. I don't know how to express how strongly I'd recommend against it. As for Star Force, 3 was good. I'd probably recommend that, if not for the fact that it's kinda link-to-other-people dependent for some things. 2 was horrible; recommending against. 1 was mediocre... but I'd still recommend against it. I'm gonna recommend Crash Team Racing, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Megaman Legends 1 for Playstation. That was good stuff. Also gonna second the Legend of Zelda games that are in the Gameboy Advance section. Aaaaand. I'm gonna recommend Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the GBA, and Kingdom Hearts: 365/2 Days for the DS. They're both RPG Action games that are pretty well built gameplay-wise, even if the plot doesn't make sense to some people who haven't played any of the KH series. Edit: Wow, what am I smoking? 358/2 Days, not 365/2 days. Vidyagames Recommendation Thread - Dyxanije - 2010-08-21
