Random is still random, whether it's weighted or not. Did people seriously think that every legendary had a completely equal chance of dropping?... Why the hell would a completely blatantly superior to everything else in slot item such as a calamity (Which essentially perma-boosts your damage by 20%) have an EQUIVALENT chance of dropping as something such as a Danetta's? Is this what blizzard players have turned into? Frown

Interesting info, seems like a kind of plantain move to have clearly better legendaries that make for fun builds be ultra rare while crappy ones that are just glorified yellows be way more common. Way to respond to the "we want more legendaries, blizz" cries.

I'd prefer if there were more interesting legs and less of the stupid ones. Even if the rate was lowered.

dowie Wrote:Problem is with dots for d3 is the crit is calculated on cast and never again for the remaining ticks. I don't know why they can't do it like wow with individual crits on ticks.

That's not what I read from a Blizzard-rep post on Reddit (That I'll try to find after I post this). They said that every single tick gets its own chance at a crit. The crit damage never shows because they didn't bother to determine how many ticks / 0.25 seconds is enough to be considered a crit for that set of ticks, and so it never shows anything from DoT damage as a crit, even though each individual tick has its own chance to crit.

Didn't find it on Reddit but: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/12312441137#9

I walk away from my PC for 5 seconds and immediately realized that I connected DoT to Channeled and have absolutely no idea why.

My bad, sorry for the confusion.

This. Same way I look at guns in Borderlands/2 - I like more of the interesting/fun/silly guns, less of the super generic stat upgrades.

Doesnt seem any different than any other drop games. Harder/better legendaries have lower chance of dropping. Makes for that "OMG it dropped " kinda feeling. Though it does get tiring when the same crap drops over and over.

Kadala says: Are you ready?

I don't think he was ready for that.

I think the problem is that there's really no legendary drops that are both common (for legendaries) AND useful. 99% of drops you get are another "6 Random Magical Attributes" or, "MAIN STAT GUARANTEED! +5 Random Magical Attributes" and that kind of nonsense. No one wants glorified rares, especially when you have to get very lucky to get stats that are usable as it is.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Justin - 2014-05-06

I will agree that there needs to be more legendaries that have cool effects like Calamity or wand of woe, stuff like that. Maybe not as RIGGED as those, but there definitely needs to be more gear out there that actually makes you look at different skills and potential builds and think "Hey, this could be an interesting combination..."

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - dowie - 2014-05-06

Yes! That is the case! Legendaries should be LEGENDARY. Not a recolored yellow with a little more stats.

Barbarian
Crusader
Demon Hunter
Monk
Witch Doctor
Wizard

Taking a look at the skill usage, unsurprisingly the least popular skill in the game is Energy Twister. Really pisses me off because of all the discussion about it during PTR and how it could be made better, and then they just go and Jay Wilson its damage.
Second worst is between Impale and Spike Trap, which also had discussion, especially for Spike Trap. The vast majority of players were very unhappy with the Spike Trap change, which basically made the skill unplayable. The very vocal minority would say l2p and gitgudscrub and apparently they won. Look where that's gotten us now.

Also, apparently, Pile On and Explosive Beast are more popular than my beloved Lumbering Cold. I feel like a hipster...

This next patch may be make or break for skills. They have had ample time, through Beta, PTR, and now release to adjust a lot of these problem skills, which they still haven't. Everyone playing beta was too busy sucking Blizzard's plantain to actually raise any concerns. Everyone playing PTR was basically ignored about this. 2.0.5 is supposedly filled with skill changes and adjustments, to follow up on the single target primary and Crusader adjustments from last patch. I'm considering making threads about specific skills on official forums since it's release now, but at the same time, this community is so pomegranatety not sure if I should bother at all.

I can say pile on is popular as its a mana dump for some fetish builds. Fire builds of course are quite popular among WD as well.

Yes I do agree MOST of the community is hilariously bad haha.

They really need to figure out how to save rift progress if they're going to require we play with an internet connection. Rolleyes

Some tips about bounty hunting in A1 and A2. There's a few patterns I've noticed inside dungeons too, and I might personally try to catalog them next time I run.

I can't believe people actually believe this pomegranate, and then cry MUH FREEDOMS when mods delete it.

Looks like it's a collaboration of what the forumz want to happen.

That's pretty much it. The fake notes are basically everything the community wants and then some. Granted some of it is really unhealthy for the game.

People don't care about balance they just want things Tongue

I want my perfectly rolled best in slot items, and I want them now! And then I want to be able to find upgrades from the first thing I kill!
