Poor Ultear, she's the hottest girl in the manga. In any case Mashima is just taking the history in whatever way he feels every week, for all we know it could be Meredy that saves Grey using a life transfer Bracelet or something. Needa wait for the next week.

Awww damn... Poor Ultear you were the hottest girl in the manga for me. I hope that they realize what she did and raise up a statue for her.
Although I fail to see how this minute into the future can turn the tables and help win this fight. A morale boost? besides the ones that saw their own deaths I don't think it could cause any.

From what I saw, it's likely that all of those people dying meant losing the battle and word might get out to the others to fight even harder because someone tried to warn them about what would happen.

If Gajeel was hurt or died in the attack he saw coming because of Ultear, that alone would make a massive difference. The one thing they can't afford to lose is any of the dragon slayers. If the extra minute means that the dragon slayers get to inflict a wound or two on the dragons before they realise what happened, even better.

I highly doubt Ultear dies next chapter. She'll probably get back up, or Wendy will heal her. Taking time back time just for one minute is not enough to to kill her I feel.

I can actually see her diying,they tried to put a lot of meaning behind this like the "one tiny minute meant the difference between victory and defeat" and "she saved so many lifes while she thought it had been meaningless", etc.
My only question would be, if she dies I doubt Crime Sorciere will prevail, where will Meredy and Gerard go? Meredy could maybe join FT but definitely not Gerard.

Are you sure? She turned back time for only one minute but it affected everyone in the world which is a remarkable feat even in a world such as Fairy Tail.
Good points raised there Lozmaster, the outcome everyone saw was actually from the previous scenario and meant that only the heroes had anything to benefit from it. Besides Gajeel surviving, having people like Gray survive means that morale is not shattered at an important time like this so it's no stretch to say that Ultear making that sacrifice after realizing that she could hardly say she's changed makes all the difference in this outcome especially as the bad end is still going to happen if any key players die at this point.
Lol'ed at Khaini's comment, total dramatic irony there.

I see no problem. He can always disguise himself as Mystagon, or he'll be forgiven by the Magic Council for his help with defeating the Dragons.

well to be fair the people are practically on DBZ logics and Natsu is punching with the fury of Nakama power. Though I would have expected at least the Dragons to smash into the gate instead since, you know, dragons weigh a shitton more and would have more momentum to smash the gates.

I think you need to look at the last pages again. Mothergrea crashing into the gate was what broke it.

I actually liked this chapter alot. Natsu wasn't fighting with mere Nakama power but with his will (which isn't the same) and the assistance of Atlas Flame to match up to Rogue's power levels, that makes it believable and overall more enjoyable. It was also proved than that Rogue wasn't being a psycho just for the sake of it but that something in the future drove him to despair (prolly didn't need proof but I enjoyed it nonetheless)
On a side note, I believe a hint of the next arc was given by Rogue. Something happens a year from now that kills Frosch, something him or Sting couldn't stop. is that Acnologia?.
To finish there's something I hope happens before this arc ends; that is each Dragon Slayer becoming friends / teaming up with a Dragon. Without the control spell from Rogue they should have no reason to fight, and I don't see the slayers killing them even if they wanted. There's 1 dragon for each slayer and Natsu already is friend with one... WHY NOT?
