welcome to old news, it ended up being not nearly as bad as everyone thought it was.
they put different underwear on the character creation screen, and fucked with the dialogue in a few sidequests, probably because a decent bit of the humor would have been lost in translation anyway. Censorship would have been removing the quest entirely, they just changed a few details in non character critical sidequests to fit the target demographic is all.

That's more of an assumption that they made based on what they saw happening to previous games that did the same thing, so they preemptively said don't do this and followed through when people started doing it until nobody that disagreed was left, or at least not willing to get themselves banned.

People were rabid attacking a side quest where they changed the situation from a guy stealing clothes and marrying a warthog because of it essentially. They changed it where they had a more disney ending towards it. The localization team wasn't even a translation team, the korea team sent some scripts and its been confirmed over and over again a lot of the story changes were because they didn't make much sense.
And the whole underwear censorship was also bull pomegranate, it was requested it be changed so it could better show off the hips and shoulders, since it had that lingerie dress effect that hid it. It was purely a game mechanic change. Considering most outfits have short dresses that let you see the underwear almost 90% of the time, censorship is most definitely not a blade and soul issue.

From what I hear, Atlus is the cause of all the censorship, not Nintendo. That could just be deflection, though.

iirc atlus released a statement saying the opposite, not blaming nintendo but clearing themselves of being behind any changes. i don't have the source though so feel free to disregard me unless someone posts it.

There was a tweet from an Atlus PR manager saying all of the changes were due to Nintendo and not them, but it was deleted so yeah...
If it is Atlus doing then I'm really surprised since they try to keep stuff unchanged when localizing the game from the original version.

First off, I didn't know there was an imgspoiler tag, so I learned something today. On topic though, it is the same group of people that is infesting every outlet of media, academia, and any other key location that can be used to spread a word with relatively little effort to tons of people that can be considered to have malleable minds that are easily tricked, who are also dumb enough to defend their incorrect opinions to the death so they don't have to acknowledge the fact that they are incorrect. It is relevant in that way.
At this point I doubt very many of the original instigators are even still doing anything, they are just watching the people they influenced spout their lies as law and, because they are flowery words promising a comfortable space where stress is not an issue and nobody will judge you for anything, people (or in this case, children, for the most part) are eating it up, because they haven't yet learned how to cope with things like stress and are just hitting the point when school is becoming stressful. So, instead of learning to deal with it, they decide to create a space where they never HAVE to deal with it (at least until they get destroyed out in the real world, but hey, that's years away!). Gamegate was targeting a very small subsect of this originally, but because of the way the groupthink is designed, it became much bigger because all of their friends in other areas of the "movement" jumped in to save them from the pressures of real life, just as they would expect in return. It's entirely possible that the events leading to Gawker getting destroyed in court by Hulk Hogan would never have occurred; while Gamergate had nothing to do with that once it reached that point, it -did- poke the beehive enough that they were angry and willing to do anything regardless of the consequences to get more views. That was undeniably the biggest hit to the entire SJW movement in years, maybe even the biggest hit they have ever taken, and over the past couple years they had already been taking a series of smaller hits over and over again. If the pressure is kept up on them, it's entirely feasible that their movement can be fragmented to such an extent that it is no longer a threat to society, so long as it continues to be monitored so they can't reform. The most important place by far that they need to be taken out is still getting bigger though, unfortunately, which is academia; it doesn't matter if all of the outlets are destroyed if the "factory" remains active.
At this point, based on ages and political affiliations, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Bernie was one of those original instigators, but seeing as it stemmed almost exclusively from academia at the very beginning, that probably is not the case. I know he would have supported it, at least, because he has the same mentality of "the world should be a great place to live in even if you put in no effort", which is fundamentally incorrect and is the doctrine they all follow; if you don't put in effort and further society, you are essentially worthless as a human being and should not be supported. I am worthless and I know it, others who do nothing need to learn to accept that fact as well instead of burying themselves in a hugbox and blaming the rest of the world for our own incompetence.
On the topic of Hogan, apparently he has financial support of a certain billionaire that Gawker tried to out publicly a few years ago; Peter Thiel just announced he has been backing Hogan financially for a while now. They literally cannot catch a single break and it's pineappleing hilarious. Karma is a real peach.

I really don't understand why they fight so obsessively over the fact that they are worthless. Once you accept the fact that you're worthless you can let go of wanting acceptance and glory and recognition and then enter a state of elation that is far more rewarding than any other thing on Earth.
