Why must the bumper mean no flipper? They don't even do the exact same thing. Rolleyes Sakurai's choices sometimes just make me go "huh"

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Takebacker - 2014-03-04

Flipper is so dumb. Good riddance.

was somehow read as 'smaller roster' than brawl, which is stupid. It's almost certainly just the ice climbers causing issues trying to render 8 playable characters at once on the 3ds.

No way in hell are there less than 12 characters left to announce.

Well that is a more clear response to my inquiry from a few days ago.
I agree with your interpretation of that...that's how I read it as well.

Still...I'd personally like to see a tighter roaster. That's just my personal preference though. Biggrin

Edit:
I guess one thing that I would like to see, which has already been mentioned I believe, is skins for certain characters similar to the Wii Fit Trainer's skins.
It'd be an easy way to get more characters into the game (sorta) without bloating the roaster with characters that fight very similarly...

Rolleyes

I remember specifically searching out for this song. It's awesome

But I have to agree that the rest of the DK songs in Brawl are pretty crappy. This is just a shine in the darkness when it comes to DK songs in SSB.

Rolleyes

Too bad they put this in an annoying stage.

You guys are forgetting the Barrel Blast song Smile

It's not a remix like Stickerbrush Symphony, but it's still pretty catchy.

I'm also glad to see the flipper gone, but I don't understand the logic behind his statement. They are two different tools, so why would including one mean the exclusion of the other...?

Why is he telling us something that already happened in Brawl? Unless he meant the K.O. uppercut.

So that we know it still happens. It's not that confusing.

D3's KO uppercut?

His jab finisher has more KO power than a FULLY CHARGED JET HAMMER?????

The majority of gameplay changes he has mentioned in these things hasn't been anything that's already happened in Brawl. Unless I'm having a significant lapse in memory, he's mentioned almost exclusively changes.

Above that, the way it's worded is as if it's something they changed, but it's not.

But he did take damage when he held it down in brawl...?

Things that don't change are just as worthy of mention as things that do change.

It's not that big of a thing, to begin with. It's a pretty crappy move. There's better things they could have told us about this specific move, like maybe that it was buffed to take less time to charge, because quite frankly it took so long to charge that it was useless against anyone who knew what they were doing, and the recoil was so massive that it left you open way too long.

I blame Diablo 3!

Sakurai Wrote:Pic of the day. Little Mac's side smash attack is his straight right punch...but it can transform into an uppercut if you tilt diagonally upward, or a body hook if you tilt diagonally downward. The body hook is the most devastating of these moves and it doesn't blast the opponents away.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Takebacker - 2014-03-06

Wow that is incredible. It's one thing to have an attack be able to be tilted up or down or normal, but another to give completely new attacks to a single attack's tilted options.

And what's more interesting is that one of them deals massive damage without knockback. Like a melee version of Fox's laser.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion - Dudewitbow - 2014-03-06

tis going to spawn more technical terms, now "dash attack" will have tilts in their names similar to standing and air attacks.

@above, term you are looking for is hitstun
