But swifty accidentally crashed the server, he was hosting an event and crashed the server on accident, gm told him he was banned, then their ticket/contact us system got flooded with "UNBAN SWIFTY OR I QUIT!!!" things like that, and they unbanned him.

Yeah, there's not many people that can even do it right. I'm sorry but most people will not be patient enough to do this or even try it to begin with. The people that are duping it mostly the same people, it's just the servers are making it happen more.
Just so some people know too, this has worked forever. It's nothing new and it can't be patched. Maybe is nexon bought some amazing new servers...but probably not gonna happen, lol.

I agree. its totally one person doing the crashing. apparently the nexon servers can be crashed by sending a certain packet which of course this person has kept to him or herself. Remember the cake v pie event and others lolol.
In addition the group of hackers theory fails as you would expect the group to have members on all day.
as for the person not having a life - well the person can sell the duped equips for hundreds of dollars each. which of course is partly due to those who buy these, but you ca't reall change their puchasing decisions. so the person probably made tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars by crashing the server.
the only good thing we can think about to make ourselves feel better is that the hacker is probably short skinny pale and with bad acne. but he/she would be fairly rich and have enough money sellling NX to buy lots of cool junk
anyway this person seems to live in the same time zone as I am which is very irritating since I am unable to do any rings.
LOLOL Nexon has already given us a 2exp compensation which is lol and ridiculous
the ring event extension - while many have demanded it, it makes no sense to give the extension now when they don't really know how many days will be disrupted.

To be honest, at this point, if the server crash theory HAD to involve hackers, I would be more inclined to think it was just one hacker.
The fact that the servers go bonkers for 4-6 hours a time, mysteriously remain stable for a solid 9, and then go bonkers again would indicate that this was done on purpose. The 9 hours of stability could represent the hacker sleeping, or doing other things. The 4-6 hours of bonkers time is easily represented for the amount of time this hacker is putting into the game.
So maybe the theory of 1 hacker doing it isn't so far fetched.

I'd like to assume that what is currently messing up Nexon's servers is not stemming from that, but then again, I have no proof to support my assumption.

Though I'm sure you was being sarcastic, I highly doubt this is in anyway related to that even through the timing is very suspicious. And there is a motive there so maybe as a stand against nexon. hackers have joined forces to attack nexons servers!..
