Tbh Wukong (the Monkey King) is somewhat OK. He is mainly considered a tanky DPS champion, usually (forced to) take top lane solo, and while there's a few things that could make him better, he's in a good spot now I guess. Oh and he jukes pretty well too.

(L> Aynia for more in-depth Wukong info .__.)

Oh and if you wanna sign up, click here! (Inb4 people start bagging me for doing the referral shyt. Hey its fair game since I used Kaj's referral link to sign up and shyt. xD)

Edit: Manu he's mine! Rolleyes

Will, I bet all of that flew over IllegallySane's head.

BASICALLY IMAGINE WUKONG AS A TANK WHO COULD DO SOME DAMAGE. HE'S PRETTY AVERAGE AT THE MOMENT, BUT THAT'S MUCH BETTER THAN A LOUSY CHAMPION. HE IS PRETTY BAD AT MAKING GOLD BUT HE'S EXCELLENT AT TRICKING THE ENEMY AND HE BASICALLY BECOMES A TORNADO DURING HIS ULTIMATE SKILL.

HE COSTS A LOT TOO, SO YEAH. I EXPECT AROUND 12 HOURS OF PLAY TO GET HIM.

You can shorten that time by quite a bit if you Dominion all day eeryday.

Dominion is the new "IP Farm" mode.

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - ItachiPower - 2011-09-28

Dominion's good for IP? I didn't know that.

10-20min game for the same amount of IP as a COvsAI / normal game.

Inb4 Riot adjusts the amount of IP gained in Dominion games to ward off IP farming.

People rushing to give me their referral links? What the hell? o.O

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - Corn - 2011-09-28

Bastards, right?

I really don't give a crap since 1 referral isn't going to do anything.

You should take mine by the way. Will burns people at night.

999 more and I can go to Riot and create a champ!

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - FenixR - 2011-09-28

I lol at dem referals.

Now joining the bandwagon

And now with Xerath Preview skills:

Quote:Ascended Form (Passive): Xerath feeds on arcane power, making him increasingly resilient to physical harm. He converts a percentage of his Ability Power into Armor.

Arcanopulse: Fires a long-range beam of energy, dealing magic damage to all targets hit.

Locus of Power: Xerath anchors himself to source of magical power, increasing the range of all spells and granting him bonus % Magic Penetration. Although he is immobilized while Locus of Power is active, his movement speed increases upon disabling the ability.

Mage Chains: Deals magic damage to an enemy and marks them with Unstable Magic. The next spell Xerath strikes this enemy with stuns them.

Arcane Barrage: Calls down a blast of arcane energy, dealing magic damage to all enemies in an area. May be cast up to three times before going on cooldown.

Ascended Form looks Op X:

Hmm, I see the game is completely free to play? How do they make money? I'd like to know what you'd end up paying/buying before I sink my debit card into the game.

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - FenixR - 2011-09-28

Skins mostly, You can buy champs with Ip (You gain this by playing the game), runes are also bought with IP and Rune Pages.

But like i told, you Buy RP with real mawneys and this RP are used to buy IP/EXP Boost, new champs (If you dont wanna collect the high amount of IP per champ), Skins for the champs you have bought and some bundle packages with a crapload of Champs.

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - Aynia - 2011-09-29

Only thing you can buy with real money that you can't buy with currency you gain naturally are skins and name changes.

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - Dark Link - 2011-09-29

Arcane Barrage can be cast 3 times!? inb4 massive AoE Nuke.

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - IllegallySane - 2011-09-29

If only skins and name change, doesn't sound too bad. Are there rooms where people can just play casually? I don't want to get too hopped up playing competitively all the time.

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - FenixR - 2011-09-29

Normal Blind pick or Normal Draft mode.

If you want to play competitively go with ranked mode (But its only open to summoners level 30 or if you get a invitation to it)

This is how you get into games in LoL:

Once you're at the PvP.net homepage, once you press "Play" (and select the game mode you want to play), the matchmaking system will try to form teams that will have an equal chance of winning from the people who are queueing up, using a hidden ELO that you have (this is determined by how many games you win or lose, but you can't see this because Riot has said the hidden ELO for normal games is a trade secret). This is known as "blind pick", which means you will be queued up with people you don't know, and you and your matchmaked team will go in together to fight in Summoner's Rift (or Twisted Treeline)!

This process works also for Ranked matches. Instead of using hidden ELO, it uses known ELO to do the matchmaking(and you can see your ranked ELO yourself after you play a certain number of ranked matches). Though I wouldn't worry about this for now; this game mode is more of a srs business type of thing, and you're simply starting off atm.

To add to what will said, you can also play against bots in the main map summoner rift 5v5 classic MOBA 3 lane system.

Normal has 2 options, blind pick and draft mode. In blind pick you just pick anything and if someone on your team picks it first you lost it, there's no pick order it's first come first serve, also you can't see enemy picks and there can be mirror picks on enemy team. Draft has 4 champion bans, 2 each team, you cannot get mirror picks and you can see enemy picks, also there's an order for champion selection, but I don't think you can draft mode until you have at least 14 champs available (there's always 10 free in rotation).

Pro tip: if you're into modding, you can "get" whatever skins you want. It's client-sided only though, but you'll still feel guuud nevertheless xD

People in the LoL University chat room are quite chill. Most SPers are pretty chill too. Alternatively, you can find practice games titled with whacky game modes (not officially enforced in any way) such as:
-- ARAM (all random all mid; very imba at times, but otherwise hilariously fun)
-- Draft racing (death by enemy fountain laser = win)
-- Kill Teemo (duh)

And hey, I'm a testament to free games because I don't spend any money whatsoever. If I'm playing a F2P, and I'm enjoying it, it's probably very good!

MapleStory... only reason why I stayed so long and endured Nexon's bullshyt was because of the community and friends. But that slowly died off and my lappy decided to fart o.O So that's the end of that chapter in my life (lvl 159, no NX ever).
DFO... quickly went the direction of MapleStory with crap communication systems, and NX clothes gives stats.
Dragon Nest... same story as DFO. I might come back after beta, but only because of the story really >_>

Ughhh Xerath seems so cool and so does this Nine Tailed fox thing. Too much IP ;-; I'm still trying to buy a new rune page and fill it up for jungle/tanky dps champs...

Also welcome to our little community IllegallySane, hope you enjoy the game. Here's a tip: Don't buy Tristana or Alistar with IP, you can like their Facebook page and subscribe to their Youtube account to unlock them respectively for free + get a free skin.

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - KajitiSouls - 2011-09-29

I saw the pics for Xerath... and coolness factor went down 20%. I guess I'll look at the champion spotlight to make my final decision on whether I want him or not.

And in case it wasn't obvious already, Locus of Power would apparently make you a sitting duck for any skill shot or area of effect spell. It would be pretty damn stupid if you could just activate/deactivate it with no time cost. Assumption, yes, and it ignores cooldown.

EDIT: Xypherous confirms that his laser spell is like Lux's in functionality.
