I do like how the SJP conference with though, I didn't like the second part as much because really the point of the conference is to communicate how gamergate should be reported. The problem is it's kind of intertwined in motivation which makes it a little more complicated.

I wish they stressed more that it was the fact it wasn't properly reported, not that it wasn't reported at all. They made it sound like it was too much work to run the story, yet they chose too without the effort.

Let it be on record that the SPJ recognizes ethical violations and agrees with #gamergate, and conceded they quite literally had no argument.

i can hear the triggers so far and wide, i thought for a moment it was 4th of july. i couldn't see it due to work unfortunately, anywhere i can watch it tomorrow?

Not that I see, Michael is going to upload the entire thing though, it got botched because they finished the rest of it outside.

So not only having a resounding success with SPJ, including a second upcoming one this spring (I think it's in March), and taking care of a pedophile who has been used as a platform for righteousness, I think gamergate is doing fu`cking great right now.

the original catalyst of this whole thing was a helldumper, let's not even touch brianna wu, a bunch of the dudes defending the anti side have had issues or have something involving rape and such looming around their heads, really the anti-side is quite the odd congregation of nutjobs.

Apparently Google thinktank or whatever decided to host all of them, for a think tank I suppose. I don't know what solutions they'll offer, since they never offer any insight that isn't short of being illegal.

Maybe it's just because I grew up in NYC, but I've never heard anyone ever insinuate games were for boys only when growing up in the 90's. Most girls I knew played them. Back in elementary school I was link trading Pokemon with boys and girls pretty equally. EVERYONE had a gameboy and at least Pokemon and Mario, if nothing else. I didn't socialize much my teen years, but my small circle of friends were all girls and played vidya with me all the time anyway. In general, by the time people hit their teens there was less game playing across both genders.

Anecdotal, of course, but I always found it a little weird how skewed it became online when getting into MMOs.

The funny thing is that this video contains the most unsourced claims compared to all of his previous ones. He makes a lot of arguments that really don't make much sense in many ways, especially from business standpoints, but hey, the narrative must always be preached, right?
