Diablo3 class thread - Dusk - 2012-07-18 Polantaris Wrote:The majority of replies to that article ask for an in-game button to switch between two sets quickly. It was there in D2(might have just been weapons in D2, I don't remember), and it's there in plenty of other similar games. It has more use than JUST MF switching, so it makes no sense that it wouldn't be there in the first place. Outside of requesting this feature, I'm not exactly sure what people can complain about regarding MF sets. "People are trying to lessen the grind! Lemme try to get that removed because I didn't think of it first!"It was just weapons in D2 (and in most games). That "solution" just makes the problem worse. MF becomes a complete waste of an affix on regular gear, because you're going to switch to your MF set anyway. And it's still really gimmicky and not fun to have to swap gear every time you kill something. happylight Wrote:Except the best way to farm is not swapping. You take a very large risk of dying when you swap plus a third of your inventory is taken up by gears. The best way would be to have MF on your regular gear that way they're in effect even when you kill regular mobs. The risk is minimal when you're a ranged class, and the increase in rares is worth it. I think most of the options they presented are garbage, though, except Option 3 (the minimum in the last X minutes version). Personally, I think they should just scrap MF as an affix on gear and have it come from other sources, so that this isn't even an issue. So the solution is to completely trash MF and/or your options (Like switching gear because you found something new = losing NV) because some people don't like the concept of switching out gear? Gear Swapping has been around for ages, and to punish people for using it is ludicrous. And what about the people who use multiple armor sets for other reasons than MF? They should get punished because they have multiple equipment sets for various scenarios in an already insanely difficult difficulty? Let's punish them for using some strategy. However, it's still pretty effective in Hell mode Act 3 to run around with 5 NV+gold find to find 1k stacks like all the time. Gear Swapping has been around for ages, and to punish people for using it is ludicrous. First of all, you're attacking a straw man, because no one has actually advocated that option. Second of all, the post merely lists five ways Blizzard could attempt to solve the problem at hand, which is that MF is mostly worthless except as gear that you want to be wearing when stuff dies, and that the system encourages clunky gear swapping to get the best of both worlds. None of these options are without drawbacks, all of them introduce other problems, and some of them are downright terrible. That's why they're asking for community input, to see if the problem is worth fixing, and if so, how? Diablo3 class thread - acfan - 2012-07-19 Got the game release day, played a hell of a lot. I haven't played in weeks but I clocked in around 128 hours on my demon hunter. I would take screenshots of my gear but I'm not sure if that's a thing this thread does. What I will post is this quiver I got for 1mil before I quit. ![]() Sucks how I stopped using frost arrow after I got it but the stats are god. Diablo3 class thread - happylight - 2012-07-22 So I hopped on the bandwagon and made a double tornado barb. It's sooooooo much more fun than playing on my wiz. This is gonna cut my farming time by half. Diablo3 class thread - Zenkat - 2012-07-25 I finally got a 2nd character up to 60, yay me! (been spending majority of time on wizard, farming and advancing) Characters left to max: Barb - 53 WD - 32 Monk - 17 Diablo3 class thread - modular - 2012-07-27 waiting for 1.04. dont have my hopes up. expecting better by 1.08-1.1x. doesnt have the social pull of maple, the infinite replayability of LoL, the skill based gameplay of an fps or flash based TD game, or the interesting item drops of ... hmmm... idk. Diablo3 class thread - Zenkat - 2012-08-04 3 characters at 60 now. Tried to push through act 3 on my disintegrate wizard, but it was incredibly difficult and could not be done. I need to tagteam the rest of inferno with a melee class to keep the crap off me
Diablo3 class thread - happylight - 2012-08-09 If you haven't heard, blizzard was hacked. Better change your password. http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/securityupdate.html Diablo3 class thread - Dark Link - 2012-08-11 1.0.4 Systems Preview! Quote:The first of many developer blogs has just been posted! Check below for a quick bullet point recap. However I strongly suggest checking over the full post! Patch 1.0.4 is currently targeted for the fourth week in August. Diablo3 class thread - Tikey - 2012-08-11 Looks like it's going to be a good patch, but I'll wait for the rest of the blog posts. Diablo3 class thread - IllegallySane - 2012-08-11 In before instead of elite farming it's now mob farming. Diablo3 class thread - Dark Link - 2012-08-11 People be confused, Blizzard clarifies. Quote:Fire Chains and Shielding were only provided as examples. We looked at every affix and have made adjustments to more than just those two. For example, we're giving players a temporary immunity to Fear after they've been Feared by a Nightmarish monster. Quote:Just to clarify, we aren't making any changes to the chance that an item will drop. Instead, we're changing the quality of that item when it drops. And when we say we're increasing the likelihood that non-Elite monsters will drop magical items "by a factor of four," it means that those monsters should drop 4 times (or "4x") the amount of magical items as they do now. Diablo3 class thread - IllegallySane - 2012-08-11 Ah okay. Makes sense. Diablo3 class thread - hadriel - 2012-08-12 Helps with the brick wall, but starts to make players avoid the Elites entirely if they can't handle them. It also means more rares and such will flood the market. We may soon need a way to gamble rares for Legendary gear then to keep supply in check. Diablo3 class thread - Zenkat - 2012-08-13 I do wish they would add an ID-ALL button. After the 1.0.3 changes, i would easily get more than 2 inventories full of rares on a single run through act 1. ID'ing them all one by one really is annoying. Diablo3 class thread - Dusk - 2012-08-13 IllegallySane Wrote:In before instead of elite farming it's now mob farming. That's really how the game is intended to be played; run around for half an hour and kill whatever, collect loot. The elites in D2 were just challenging monsters to overcome, not the primary source of loot, and that's how it should work, in my opinion. Diablo3 class thread - JoeTang - 2012-08-14 http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/6923457/104_Legendary_Item_Improvements-8_14_2012 Legendary Buffs. Big step in the right direction, and a lot to look forward to. I want a new Grandfather... I already found a shitty one and it looked badass hanging off my Enchantress's back, but I eventually swapped it with a 1200DPS 2H so she could actually do something. |
