what about the idea of changing pass TOO much haha gets you hacked more often (: in my 6 years i've only changed pass 3 times, 2 forced pass change 1 maplestory/1 DFO, and one after MTS crap, never been hacked

Hi, I registered to reply to this thread.
I was hacked just yesterday; the hacker went on my account and bought some crossbow arrows for 30k NX in the MTS. I received an email in my inbox saying that someone wanted to change my account's email address. Luckily for me, I use different passwords for anything I sign up to on the internet (which means my Maple password is strictly unique to Nexon only), so the Hacker was unable to log on to my email and successfully change my account's linked email address. Neither my password nor my PIC were changed when I logged on. Apart from the missing NX, I don't believe anything else is missing—which is weird because taking my items/money would have been a piece of cake.
And as you've stated, I haven't changed my password/PIC in quite a while, or otherwise, pretty much never.

None of them are for my main accounts yet but it's pretty obnoxious (yes that's 8 different mule accounts, all presently inactive. Of note: the emails and account IDs are sequential)
On Nov. 15th, 5 of these accounts got reactivation emails as well.

And, as I said, the IDs are sequential - each is the same root word, followed by the numbers I put in square brackets. The ones with an 'a' were already registered so I tagged it on the end. It seems someone's running through IDs in alphabetical order...

It has the appearance that they got a hold of a new list or something or maybe they have a better method and are working through a list they previously had and getting accounts they couldnt get before. I have read about several people being "Hit" in the past few days and know a couple people in game who were also who hadnt been touched before.

My HS mule account was hacked some months ago, but I caught the hacker and he dced or logged off for some reason, and I could change the info.
What is interesting is that the hotmail linked to that account also linked to my Elsword account, which was also hacked around the same time frame.
Today when I went to check the hotmail account for that 5k NX event thing I got the message that multiple unsuccesful attempts to log in had been made. If this is somehow relevant for all the other hacking cases I cannot say, but if it is, you guys might want to create a gmail account or something for the sole purpose of housing the Nexon account and request an email change. I have done so, and it is not a lenghty procedure as long as you have access to the mail account

Alphabetical order, or by order of date and time of creation of the account
I believe every account ID has a hidden number associated with it, which is what Nexon actually uses in transactions. These would be assigned in sequence based on account creation date. Maybe the hackers basing attackes on those numbers.
