Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - ElectricSix - 2010-12-09 1. ChaoticCJ - Neutral (Win with any group) 2. ElectricSix -Town 3. Synthesist - Town 4. Holypie - Mafia 5. KajitiSouls - Town 6. DualReaver - Town 7. Kurtle - Neutral (Mafia aligned) 8. Jon - Neutral (Town aligned) 9. MetaSeraphim - Mafia 10. xBTAx - Town 11. Darkmaniak - Mafia 12. Corn - Neutral (Mafia Recruitable, but wins with any group) 13. Shidoshi - Mafia 14. Mephisto - Town 15. MasPan - Mafia 16. Swerve - Town 17. Blaine - Town 18. y0y0y0y0shi0 - Mafia 19. Daku - Town The mafia, or in this case the Heroes were favored pretty strongly this game. I count 10 town aligned roles, 7 Mafia aligned, and two who win no matter who wins. Though technically one of those two was actually recruitable by said Mafia. I'd say that qualifies as almost half the players as anti, or at least apathetic, to the town winning which is too much. At least to have all on one side imo. Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - Mephisto - 2010-12-09 3 things 1) @ Holypie I F'UCKING KNEW IT SINCE DAY 1 2) Mafia recruitables normally count as only half-mafia, see: thief and spy. Technically this game should still be going on (4.5 mafia vs. 5 town)... Which leads me to... 3) Wow. Ray and Xela freaking fail at balancing games, this is like the third one in a row that had some stupidly obvious flaw that completely goes against the normal rules of the game. Not to mention the fact that 6 mafia + 1 full recruitable + a f'ucking million "neutrals" (I put it in quotes because neutrals NEVER HAVE A TEAM WIN CONDITION LOL) in one game, with less than 20 people, is kinda ridiculous and a terrible job by the review board. Maybe I should quit playing and join up, it seems you guys need my help Anyway, GG mafia, thanks for keeping me alive so I could troll everyone and post in sing-song rhymes while making them think that was part of my role XFD Edit: No, actually, one more thing Town-aligned wordbomb silencer? TOWN-aligned wordbomb SILENCER? TOWN-ALIGNED WORDBOMB SILENCER? THIS IS THE LEAST FUN AND MOST USELESS ROLE EVER SERIOUSLY - is there a spot on the goddamn review board open? Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - MetaSeraphim - 2010-12-09 The Mafia can't take all the credit, while I believe Brandon and I made a devil's duo coming up with plans that won us the game, the town fighting with itself and giving itself a way didn't help them much. Like, ElectricSix. Not only did we get Catwoman on that day, but we also took out the doctor so kindly thanks to ElectricSix giving himself away as Bane causing me to tell Brandon to get him. But of course I have to admit I guessed wrongly about what Bane was, I thought he would be some town-killer type role, but no, he was the only doctor. Who knows how the game would have went if it wasn't for that. Oh, and we screwed up too if it wasn't obvious. I choose Kurtle at random to look into and we killed him because we knew he wasn't Catwoman, all I have to say about that is, lol whoops! But, overall, yeah, I gotta say it was a fun game and not just because mafia won. I mean, this thread is at page 21, and had a total of 18 players, pretty impressive I gotta say. Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - ElectricSix - 2010-12-09 Eh I think it's just people who are new to the whole hosting things are trying things out Meph. It's a learning experience. Every game you play or host usually gives you some new insights as to how to try and improve the next one. For example, my first hosting game means that my next game won't be relying on rng at all. Even though it's going to be a troll game so it'd make sense in some ways to have it in there. XP Edit @Meta: Yeah that was an error on my part, but I figured you'd focus on getting rid of the any other possible detective first. I suppose if I had been smarter about it, I would have protected myself that night, but ah well, it was too late to change my mind by the time I started thinking about it. If I had lived, I'd have roleclaimed, protected myself that night, and hoped you all targeted me. Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - Mephisto - 2010-12-09 The entire point of the review board is to prevent people who are new to hosting inserting ridiculous pomegranate that imbalances the game in one side's favor - like a role that has no f'ucking loss condition whatosever, is able to be coerced by the mafia, and both the mafia and the player know about this. It's fairly obvious that the mafia suicided one of their least important members, Dark, in order to recruit a f'ucking busdriver who counted as a whole mafian, thus basically improving their situation without any losses. Corn had nothing to lose period, short of dying he won no matter what, and secretly being recruited by the mafia actually increased his chances of surviving, since they wouldn't accidentally nightkill him and he would have no suspicion on him because he helped lynch a mafian. At the very least, the mafia should not have known Corn's role name. At the LEAST. Stuff like that is what the review board is supposed to catch. This entire game, while it was fun, is the least balanced we've had since Starcraft mafia. Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - MetaSeraphim - 2010-12-09 Mephisto Wrote:This entire game, while it was fun, is the least balanced we've had since Starcraft mafia. The fact that both this and the Starcraft one were so massively fun and popular is for a reason. And I think Swerve needs to continue to enter into these games, he was wonderful in my opinion. Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - Mephisto - 2010-12-09 Yeah, they were fun until the end, when the massive imbalance given to one role/side was revealed, at which point it just got f'ucking stupid. I am of the opinion that, StarCraft and Batman being AWESOME universes, the fun had more to do with the universe being played than the gameplay being good. I thought town had at LEAST two more days left before we'd be outnumbered, and I'd already correctly picked out you, Shidoshi, and Holypie as mafia. Problem was, I THOUGHT that was all. smh x 1 million /ragequits thread Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - ElectricSix - 2010-12-09 Well I picked out Mas pretty much the day after I was dead and I was with Dual on the whole Corn switching over to the mafia's side. Unfortunately far too late to do anything about it. Anyway, I did have fun playing, but yes there were areas in this game that could have been caught and fixed beforehand Meph. Hopefully the next game will be a more regular game of mafia so there's no oped anything. XP Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - MetaSeraphim - 2010-12-09 Mephisto Wrote:the fun had more to do with the universe being played than the gameplay being good. I had great fun in the Starcraft game and I don't really know anything about Starcraft. I know way more about Batman, and had about the same amount of fun. Plus the role I took in each game was way different and wouldn't have had anything with me having fun. But, you and I will most likely always have different opinions, no point in dragging it out. Though I do have to laugh at just how a like Starcraft and this one were. Anyway, I might as well post this here.

Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - Dual - 2010-12-09 Yes, I agree, the game was very mafia aligned. even Alex himself admitted he thinks he failed a bit at balancing this, but I can't blame him, he's more used to mostly vanilla townie games. I mean we had 2 mafia aligned neutrals, one which could be recruited, 5 members of the mafia (one of which could dodge a lynch and had secret doublevote if Batman died), and 2 townie power roles couldn't act until night 2, and 2 members of the town became inactive after their roles became useless (Jon and Blaine). Town had very little chances to win. I mean, look at the outcomes. There were only 2 mislynches in the whole game, out of 3 lynches total, plus the mafia killed someone aligned with them at night, and the town still got wiped. However, I have to admit, to everyone in the mafia, you need to take a lesson from Brandon. When I called out the roleclaim on the day that Swerve died, Pie's D.A.V.E. claim and Meta's "obligatory female henchman" claims were pretty obvious as fake. Shidoshi didn't even claim either. Brandon's was actually more believable, because he chose a famous villain. But yes, it was a fun and long game due to all the flavor, the chosen material, and people like Swerve. It's a shame that I ended up already dead, since by the time I set off the wordbomb, I had managed to solve that Pie had to be the GF, and that Shidoshi and Meta were most likely mafia. Brandon also asked me why I didn't start a lynch on Corn after I knew he was recruited, and the simple answer was that I didn't think he'd be a perma-member. I thought killing Batman would turn her back to her life of crime or something, but no, he had to be a full member from then on. I seriously wanna see what me and Brandon would do if we ended up on the same mafia team, cause holy balls we would wreck some pomegranate up, since, as Brandon put it, I am the L to his Light, always knowing what the other is planning. And to Mephisto, two things: 1. Yes, wordbomber sucks hard. Now imagine trying to win as a neutral with that. 2. The game is over because it would have headed into the night phase. Batman had a kill he could use, and I was going to die tomorrow from poison, which made me unable to post either, leaving the town at 3 members that could actually vote. Game was long gone. Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - Shidoshi - 2010-12-09 I had quite a lot of fun in the game even though it's clear to see having all the PMs that the game was heavily unbalanced. Even with town having pretty good guesses on who was mafia and actually lynching efficiently the mafia was in total advantage. My power of dodging never got used lol, I had hidden double-vote too. Also, when is the mafia game =D? Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - KajitiSouls - 2010-12-09 Bullshyt game was bullshyt. I had fun pineappleing with you guys while it lasted though. "So guys I am the" was originally a middle finger response to Corn, because my role wasn't listed for some reason. Then it turned into "no/disapprove". I half expected that you guys wouldn't get it actually. One thing I would have liked to mention was that my ability was veerrryyy slooooowwww. Horrid, and atrocious. Plus, if I tried to use it on dead people, it doesn't really do anything except give the ability of speech. I'm sure Ray and Xela would have liked to review this factor, in the face of the fact that this game had too much mafians, and they had too much power. (A mafia-aligned detector? shyt son!" Another thing to have mentioned... y0y0 could have easily been Mafia and made up that power. The only reason why I didn't point it out immediately is because of his apparent profound insight after Dark got lynched. I wanted to give him a benefit of a doubt, and turns out my suspicion was unfounded. Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - MasPan - 2010-12-09 At the risk of sounding arrogant, I don't think the mafia would've been so OP without someone like meta or me to abuse the abilities we had. It would've had an edge, but not quite like the one we had. A lot of townies beating each other up helped too *cough scarecrow* Also, this is what, the 4th game in a row I've been a mafioso/scum neutral? Aside, ofc, from the card one, where I died on like day 1 or 2 anyway (same for pirate). To clarify, Tobi let me use my ability on N1 instead of N2. 4. Pretty much what Mephisto said, but nicer. :< Batman Mafia - MAFIA Wins. - Corn - 2010-12-09 xBTAx Wrote:I was waiting to post that image the entire game.
