How was your day? - Grey - 2014-08-08

After yesterday, I started out the day in a slump. Didn't go to work, all I did was sit in the kitchen wrapped in a blanket. Basically, the gist is, it's highly unlikely that the university would accept me into the grad program, and my only hope is to write a paper and get it published. Also, my prof thinks I should take fewer courses given that I have to do really well and write this paper next semester, but I don't want to drop any of the classes I'm currently signed up for, and if I did, I'd want to take a third grad course. On top of that, if I don't budget my money well, I potentially have to get a new job.

So, anyway, later on in the day, my friends took me to this game store I wanted to go to because I've been wanting a Nintendo 64 for some reason. I ended up not getting it, and we got some pizza, and I was still pretty down. Later on still, they started filming this movie in the alley behind our apartment, so rather than sleeping, I sat up with my friends and watched them work, and then we climbed up to the roof and took some pictures from up there. Running around rooftops in the dark... it was so awesome, and I think I'm ready to go back to dealing with things.

Wow, Marceline the Vampire Queen and Princess Bubblegum in Adventure Time were confirmed to be a canon lesbian couple. After all that hinting! It's great news, but still kinda sad because they can't actually include it in the show because it's illegal to show stuff like that in some countries. Sad

Also something about 2 characters in Attack on Titan also being a lesbian couple, not like anyone didn't already know that.

Representation is always good!
(Now Korra and Asami need to get romancin')

Also today I baked more brownies.

Yesterday was fucking awesome. Third date with a wonderful sweet girl, made a spinach salad with strawberries, garlic/herb chicken, crumbled feta cheese and strawberry vinaigrette dressing, went fishing with her at a nearby pond after watching Austin Powers, went to Sonic and enjoyed out drinks while walking around in a memorial park...

There just may be a girlfriend in the near future Big Grin

Update: With the hurricanes "expected" to miss, I suddenly find myself now looking at IG pictures with all my friends at the beach...
Well, if I couldn't paint outside, there's always inside to paint, today.

Went to Botanical Beach in Port Renfrew and there were tons of tidepools since we went at the lowest tide. The sun was around long enough for us to eat lunch and take some photos, then the fog started creeping in and I took the above shot as we were leaving. It was quite lovely

Come to Seattle and we'll have an SP meetup. Pretty sure we have quite a few SPers in the Seattle area.

This would happen once I'm out of Seattle and back in the Midwest Sad

I have patented the Douchebag Fashion Uniform™: 1 tank top, 1 pair of well-fitting khaki pants, no socks, 1 pair of low-cut shoes.

Must be worn in 10mph winds in 60 degree weather for maximum effectiveness.

EDIT: I've been listening to Bon Iver during downtimes this week. Funny how I always go back to them--at least this time it's not to cope with the emotions that I should've gotten over a long time ago. Whistling along to Skinny Love just helps me wind down.

Want to start off the new school year with a new haircut/style that isn't cut by your Dad who only knows how to cut the same haircut for the past 16 years.

Too scared to setup an appointment/meet strangers and worried about the cost. What's wrong with me? .-.

Do it!!

Besides, nothing should be more than $20...and $20 is when people are really charging you for a good hairstyle (or just plain ripping you off).

I have no idea what your current hairstyle is or what you look like - but get a fade! If you go to Supercuts/similar, it should be about $16 and you can just walk in. :~)

I recommend finding your own style of undercut that suits you. I have one, a lot of my friends have one, most guys have one. Most barbers worth going to will know what an undercut is, just show them a picture.

That was the most mindnumbingly boring way to waste 7.5 hours ever devised. I had to digitize paper records. I removed staples and scanned papers for 7.5 hours. The boss's daughter came in an hour late so I had no idea what to do for the first hour. She left an hour later (11 AM) and I spent the rest of my time scanning and destapling by myself. The most difficult thing I had to do was name files for the year they were issued after they were scanned and put them in the correct client's folder. The highlight of my day was a spicy chicken sandwich at Tim Horton's. I'm not even getting paid. This is a complete and utter waste of my time. I'd rather be sitting at home and doing nothing because it's not like I can put "scanned papers for over 100 hours" on a resume.

Went to Disneyland yesterday to celebrate the Haunted Mansions 45th. We went and ate at a 4 different places to get canvas prints with mickey and friends as the stretching portraits (large group made it easier).

Today was my first real day at Michael's and it went pretty well. Didn't have any mistakes, and we even started out on the cash register, so we got what I thought was the hardest stuff outta the way. Also, if it bad that I wanna date one of my coworkers already? hahah

It's actually an accepted practice in NA (not very well accepted, granted, but companies still get away with it). They don't want to actually pay to train and retain someone, so they get high school/college students to do grunt work for free to give them "experience".

OT: Got a mani/pedi today (well, last Friday), and loving how it looks.

Pineapple anyone who tries to bring me down about this, I'd gladly do it again. Rolleyes

Officially registered for the general GRE and Physics GRE -- taking them in September! This also gives me enough time to retake them (if needed) before I submit my graduate school applications.

I move into my apartment in SIX days!!! I'm beyond excited. Last year of undergrad, let's go!

Should have gone with the electric blue

Eh, I went with the sparkly deep blue because my girlfriend thought it looked better. Although it looks slightly purple depending on the light.

Plus, I didn't notice an electric blue in the options anyway.
