I am really disappointed with how they've made the new Mercedes and eunwol look, it feels like they took their signature pose and Polish away amongst the weird new clothes (wtp happened to the eleven QUEEN she looks like a kpop star now and so does eunwol but I seriously despise the new Mercedes look).

Come on guys, you don't complain about characters looking very similar among each other when you're watching Anime /cartoons or reading manga / comics. It's obvious there is a new art team in charge of the official artwork now. They should have tried to bring more of their individual personality in the art though instead of trying so hard to make them look badass and ending up making them look lifeless (Shade and Lumi look like they dont give a pineapple and Phantom is barely smirking away from that).
At least the art is still pretty good, I would like to watch in game animations done on this artstyle.

Yeah the thick eyeleashs were the very first (drastic) change that characters got, I don't see a problem with this new "final" direction though (unlike many others here), also I was merely showing that this is a change that has happened overtime and Kinesis wasn't the peak of it all, it was actually the Resistance revamp if anything.
I guess the new director really is crazy about this style, also I forgot to include this, the very first content created by this director https://orangemushroom.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/star-planet-1.png , the males got included in this mess.
In the grand scheme of things all of these things got molded into those eyes.
Oh well I wonder if this will go on though as it does kill diversity especially if we are looking at Luminous (The previous eyes were a better match) or Mercedes (Same follows along with her old design) or Eunwol (idk what to say lol), Phantom just needs a smirk and evan along with aran are fine - I do wonder what caused this shift in artstyle though as the previous big lashes + stuff were fine.

Am I the only one who's not bothered by the new illustrations?
Apparently, there is a new director of MapleStory. The director oversees the development of the game and a person with this responsibility does have an influence on changes in the game. The change of illustrations could because of that. I don't know for sure.

I actually love these new artworks. It feels like maplestory is getting more mature with expanding on different storylines and etc. I'm really excited to see the new blockbuster and what other older content they're going to try to incorporate with this too.
tbh I always had this wish that maplestory should have it's own anime based on Evan (since he's not part of the "original" heroes) and his growth to become a hero of the maple world while meeting with the rest of the heroes. hopefully if this is at least as good as black heaven, i'll be satisfied

Lol just a bit above I wrote I would like to see in game animations done by the new art department. I really hope thats not the style of animations we get for this blockbuster.
- So whats the world tree?... Alicia? the tree in the very center of Victoria Island? Both?
- I thought of Demian when the "wolf eating the world tree whole" thing showed up, then realized the symbol of the wolf is the same symbol on his eyepatch.
- For an update that should involve Demon Slayer heavily, little or rather nothing's been said about him. I hope he plays a big role here.
- The Sylbis are definitely not the people from Ariant, so new town being released?
